    DogTropolis
I have used DogTropolis for the last several years for both short and long term boarding. Every experience has been great. I strongly recommend DogTropolis. DogTropolis is a welcoming place for dogs. The business is large enough to have a nice facility with strong processes and procedures in place, but small enough to offer personalized care. The building is always spotless. It is safe and secure. Dogs are pre-screened for temperament. Vaccinations must be up to date. Connie, the owner, is actively involved in the business and her staff is competent and friendly. Most importantly, they know and care about the dogs that they watch and you can tell that the dogs really like them. When DogTropolis was first recommended to me by a good friend, I had two dogs. Molly, a black lab, was around 14 years old and Maggie, a Jack Russell terrier, was around 10 years old. Molly has since passed away at age 16, but Maggie is still going strong at age 13. Every time Maggie goes to DogTropolis for boarding, I bring the same blanket and stuffed animal. Maggie now knows that when I get the blanket and stuffed animal out, it is time for Dogtropolis. She gets visibly excited. When we arrive at DogTropolis, she pulls on the leash, all the way from the car to the entrance. Once inside, past the security gate, and unleashed, she runs into the back room with not even a goodbye. She cant wait to play with the other dogs. When I pick up Maggie, she is clean, energetic and always a little hoarse from barking with the other dogs. When she gets home, she always has a good long nap. When I leave Maggie at DogTropolis, I know that she is going to get the same level of care that I give her and that she is being watched by people who care about her and understand the needs and limitations of a 13 year old dog. I also know that she is going to have a good time. DogTropolis is special.

    K-9 KINGDOM
Our Beagle, Pauli, loves to visit Canine Kingdom.   They love dogs and understand how to work with them.  The dogs are always attended, with someone always there overnight, should there  be  boarding visitors.  Pauli doesn't look back when he's dropped off.   He just wants to play with his buds, so you know this is a happy place.

I have used them one time and they were quite satisfactory.  The only reason why I will not use them again is because I prefer my dog to be at the Vet.  They were nice people and they did what they were supposed to do.  The price was a little higher than my Vet but not off the wall and I think it was comparable to my Vet.

The owner is very good. He is very friendly and reasonable. I think they have very good size for cats. We took a tour and that was very nice. They are very spacious and they have playrooms for cats and dogs.

    CENTURY KENNELS
I have been using them for five years.  They are friendly and they love their animals.  I like the people.  I like that they live on the premises and they have their own animals.  My dog enjoys going there.

I thought they were very professional and they did a good job. All of the facilities are different sizes and I ended up not using them again because I had a big dog and I wanted him to have a bit more space. It's still the same staff and owner an they have a newer facility now and both of them do a great job with my dog. They don't just put your dog in a crate or kennel, the dogs are socialized and they have a doggy cam so you can watch your dogs while you are out of town. You can view the footage with any device connected to the internet.

    ALADOR KENNELS

When I picked up my dog Monday morning at ten o'clock, I was given some of the dog food and two pills which should have been her morning dose.  The owner explained that they were busy, and had not yet fed my dog, nor given her the  medication.  She looked thinner to me but I didn't say anything, thinking it was my imagination. I walked her at the school nearby, fed her the leftover food in the bag, she seemed ok.  Once we arrived home, I gave her a good brushing and noticed that there were two open sores on either side of her upper lip.  Her elbows were red as if she had rubbed them on a hard surface.  I called the owner and asked if she had noticed my dog with her face against the fencing for prolonged periods of time. She could not recall anything that might explain why this happened.  I asked if she could ask her staff since I was planning on leaving the dog for an extended period of time in August and could not imagine what would happen to her lips if she persisted in doing this for over ten days.  She did not call me back.  I emailed her that day with my concerns.  I received no response.  I called back, spoke with her assistant, she said the owner responds to emails so that I should wait for her response.  It has been five days, plenty of time to pick up a phone or write an email. I have a lot of theories as to why my pet felt the need to press her face against the fencing.  She has been to other kennels with fencing and this has never happened.  Obviously, I will never really know, since no one bothered to call me back.

I was very pleased with my dog's day at Pet Lodge. She was ready when I arrived to pick her up -- she clearly had a busy day and was ready for dinner and a long nap when she came home. I have scheduled my dog for additional daycare visits and, when the opportunity arises, will also schedule her for boarding.
Pet Lodge also has separate space on another floor for cats. Should the need arise, I will also take my cat to Pet Lodge.

    Camp Bow Wow
Our dog has been attending daycare here a day or two a week for the past year. We've had an ok experience here up until our dog was bitten by another dog while at camp. I picked up my dog and noticed he was bleeding. I took him back into camp bow wow to see how it happened but no one ever noticed that he had been bit. They did offer to clean him off, but didn't think much of it. I took him to the vet immediately and they found 4 large puncture wounds on his back side! How the staff at camp bow wow didn't see or hear this happen is unbelievable! After a $200 vet bill and two weeks of antibiotics, thankfully the dog is doing well.
I called the camp the next day to speak to the owner and I was told she was not in. I explained again what had happened and that I was disappointed that no one recognized this (and no one ever called to find out how the dog was doing). I said I was not going to to be able to bring him back there because I think the supervision there is lacking significantly. I was told and quot;Sorry about thatand quot; and that was it. No offer to have the owner call me back. Nothing!
Our dog has attneded other daycare programs (one on the Westside of Cleveland and in Maryland where we used to live) with no problems. At these other places, dogs who are acting aggressive get time-outs or are asked not to return. And there are always 2 people in a camp area with the dogs. At this place, I never see attnedants with the dogs and sometimes there can be 80 dogs there at one time (on half price day = $$$ for the owner). I should've researched the place better before sending him.
Bottom line, TOO MANY DOGS!!!!! VERY LITTLE SUPERVISION!!!! Go elsewhere.

Fine. Our dogs are not used to being with other dogs in an open kennel situation, and we were afraid they might not react well, have to separated from the other dogs, etc. However, it turned out that they did just fine.
