    The provider offered a winter special of $65 (plus parts) to tune up lawn mower.  They tuned engine, sharpened and balanced blades, changed filter, changed oil and greased unit. I appreciate that they also help unload the mower and reload to my vehicle.  Service was done quickly and we are all set for Spring.

    Excellent service, mower starts with one pull.  Very happy with the service, price, and outcome.  Busy time of the year due to fall weather/leaves - but still got it done in the amount of time they estimated.  And they called me with the details and estimate prior to doing the work.  Unloaded and loaded the mower from my vehicle too.

    I was on awaiting list for about 4 weeks and then scheduled for pickup.  Every thing was done professionally.  The service took about 3 days but because I was not available, we agreed upon a week later.  The mowers were delivered early to my satisfaction.

    Don's Lawn Mower Service
    Since we���re at the height of mowing season, we expected it would take a while to get our mower repaired.  They picked-up the mower sooner than expected, so that was nice.  They also finished sooner than expected, which was also nice.  But...when they came to deliver it back to us we found a cable hanging down from underneath the carriage.  The person dropping off our mower was rude and informed us he doesn���t work on them, he just delivers them.  The cable wasn���t there when they picked it up, and shouldn���t have been hanging down at all.  While we were deciding what to do ��� keep it or send it back, the person delivering the mower informed us that he didn���t want to wait around for us all night to make a decision.
    We did send it back and they fixed the cable and returned the mower the next day.  Even though they were to perform maintenance, the mower sounds rough.  It did not sound that way when we had them pick it up.  For $400 I���m not even sure exactly what they did, but for that I at least expected it to sound really smooth.
    They did repair the spring that cause the problem to begin with.
    Based on price, quality and the attitude of the people who work there we will not be using this service again.

    J&M Lawn Mower & Small Engine Repair
    My 21/2 year old riding mower would not start even with a charger. I called J and M, one of the few shops that pick up riding mowers. The owner came within a day of being called. Since he could not diagnosis the problem as it set in my garage, he took to his shop. I was concerned because it was still grass cutting time so I thought it would take a long time to be fixed. I had also requested that regular maintenance be done on the mower. Within a day, the owner called to tell me that the battery was completely shot and that is why the charger would not work. He was able to give me a new larger and better battery ,as well as, do the maintenance work. The results were better than a prior company who worked on the mower. It was returned on a Sunday and looked new because it had been cleaned up. I was also told that the mower was set and would not need to be serviced until after the 2013 cutting season.
    He was friendly and professional and the cost was reasonable.

    Service was a fast turn around as delivery was within one week. Both mowers were fully serviced ready for usage. The company picked up and delivered when they said they would. The Reach coupons helped reduce the price. Compared to several other companies Don's was reasonably priced.

    The initial estimate was for 3 days but we were told that if a part was needed that wasn't in stock that it could take a few more days. I received 5 calls from Sears over the next 2 weeks. The technician neglected to look at everything at once so he would find a part to fix, send it to a central call station to call me for approval and then wait for the approval to proceed. This continued for 2 more times over the next 1 1/2 weeks. One of the calls was to replace a cable (not the accelerator cable). The 4th call was, oh I don't know why we called you and the 5th call said that my new completion date that I had authorized was 8 June. This was the first time that I had been given a new estimated completion date and I told them I wasn't happy that they would now have my mover for 3 weeks, since they gave themselves 2 weeks more for the last part instead of 4 days as I had been told previously. I was called about 7 days later telling me that the mower was ready. As I tried to pickup the mower, my invoice wasn't even filed under my correct name, it was filed under the second part of my hyphenated last name even though the work order had my name correctly filled out. When I received the mower back, the cable that had been crimped had not been replaced. The representative squeezed the accelerator handle and said it works fine and didn't need replacing. When I complained to the representative, he took $30 off the final price without me asking but I'm afraid that all the issues with the mower weren't fixed. The back wheels still lock up when I try to pull the mower toward me and I don't know that the acceleration works as it should. I took the mower back and after the second repair, the mower works properly. The crimped cable was indeed the problem. The second repair experience was much better than the first but I believe it could have all be done on the first service visit if the repair technician had done a "test drive" of the mower before signing it off as repaired.

    Last spring my husband was out of town for three months. It was time to begin cutting the grass. My dilemma - how to change the blade on the lawn mower. In addition, according to the instructions in the manual the way the blade was on did not match the picture in the owner���s manual. I needed someone to take off the blade, sharpen it, put it back on in the correct order and give the mower back to me in a reasonable length of time. Don's Lawn Mower Service is very close to my house. I loaded up the mower, a small electric push style, and dropped it off. They had it ready the same day and explained that the diagram in the owner���s manual was wrong. The mower worked great, the blade stayed sharp for the entire season. We have two blades; usually I have to change it mid-season. This week I took the mower back to Don's, and had him put the other blade on and sharpen the one from last season. The work was done in the same day. Moreover, my husband was out of town again. Having Don do the work for us is worth it. Don is an older gentleman, very laid back in his demeanor. I feel comfortable working with him. In past years I have taken the blade to another place just to have it sharpened, but that is when my husband is here and we can work together to remove it. The price I pay to Don may not be the lowest, but I think it is fair for us.
