Had three estimates, one of the contractor recommended and quoted all around the basement trenching and drainage system, the other two recommended only the required area, Pioneer had the lower bid. I got concerned that I didn't get a call back to schedule after a day or two business days, following making a deposit for the job (deposit requirement was a reasonable amount). I later learned that scheduling is done on Thursdays. Because of their busy schedule, I had to wait about one and half month for them to perform the work. I am happy with the work and things went well. They showed up promptly at 8am on the scheduled day. Since I have pets, they sealed off the doorway to the basement and exterior door so the pets do not get out. I was worried about the jack hammering and all the dust it would create, but they assured me that dust would be vacuum up simultaneously as the concrete is cut out. Before they left, they cleaned up the work area--it was cleaner than before they came to perform the work. Work was completed in one-day--they initially estimated two-days for the job. A week later, we had heavy rain, and I have a dry basement!

I met with Ron Lee of pioneer 3 times to discuss my needs in my basement. There was no pressure and I felt he did a good job with the estimate. Pioneer's crew of 4 showed up May 15th on time. The foreman introduced himself but I was not given the names of any of the other workers. The job won started quickly upon arrival. It appeared all was going well. After Pioneer left for the day I inspected their progress. There were multiple areas of damage created by Pioneer. They did not inform me of this while they were there. I had to approach them the following day about it. I did not get a good response from the crew and asked for the owner to call me. They attempted to jack hammer behind my hot water heater that was flush with the wall. In doing this they dented my hot water tank and put an unnecessary hole in my foundation. Pictures of damage are attached. I was told during estimate that they would tunnel under obstacles. If the hot water tank needed removed they should of asked and I would of called a plumber. The use of the jackhammer behind this should of never been attempted. There simply wasn't enough room to do it. As you will notice in the picture you couldn't even fit a paint brush behind the tank. I asked for the owner to call me on this. He ultimately relpaced the hot water tank. Pioneer also destroyed the lower block on a load bearing wall with their jack hammer. See attached picture. This is a load bearing wall and the first block is now destroyed. The owner had his crew full it with hydraulic cement. I'm concerned the structural integrity of this wall is now compromised. I also feel this could of been avoided if they used a lighter jackhammer to prevent this kind of damage. The floors were covered poorly. Areas were left uncovered. I had to ask for more paper to be put down. So the lip of my laminate floor would not be destroyed by there work boots. This a basic part of their job. I shouldn't of had to ask them to cover floors appropriately. Picture attached. The water pressure tank in may house was sitting on concrete blocks. They slid out the blocks over half way and had my tank propped up on wall with a piece of pipe. I understand why they did this but they never mentioned I would have to reset tank on concrete blocks after the concrete had dried. We noticed it after the job was complete. This is a labor intensive job. It created a tremendous about of dust throughout our home. The crew worked hard while they were there. One crew member specifically seemed very knowledgeable about basements. He stated he had 24 years experience. The experience showed in some of his work. Ultimately I'm very unhappy with the job of Pioneer. I feel all of the damage could of been avoided with the right tools and patience. Pioneer gives out satisfaction surveys to their customers. I didn't receive one. I'm guessing because they knew I was unhappy when they left. Pioneer uses the surveys as a marketing tool. The surveys are not a true representation of Pioneer If your selective about who gets the surveys. Now that the job is complete. I wouldn't recommend interior waterproofing or Pioneer Basement Solutions to anyone. .

My experience with Randy Cutlip and his team was exceptional! Mr. Cutlip, with over 35 years professional experience, is very knowledgeable and able to answer any question you may have about waterproofing. Mr. Cutlip recommended the best way to solve my wet basement issues and was prompt to return my calls. He was mindful of bringing all materials to the site. Mr Cutlip guaranteed his work and provides a warranty. Pricing was very affordable and not over the top. This is the team you want at your home! Thank you for your hard work, Randy. It is appreciated. Rated A+ at BBB B-Dry Systems - Cleveland (Randy Cutlip, President) Wall Anchors of Northern Ohio (Randy Cutlip, President) --It doesn't get any better than that! So call him!

over the past 6 months I have had Ron Lee out 3 times to look at my water penetration issues in my basement. Multiple phone calls and 3 visits to my home. I was never pressured into signing a contract. I had 5 different estimates for the job. Pioneer pricing was competitive and felt they were the best choice to get the job done the way I wanted it. Thanks Ron for your patience. As of now this review is on there sales practices only. No high pressure. No gimmicks. Just honest answers. The work will be completed in May and I will follow up with a review once work is completed.

The basement guys are a high pressure company. They will not come to appointment unless your spouse is present. There price was on par with other estimates i received. My main complaint with this company is that they have called me almost daily since July to send a senior technician to reevaluate my problem. Just a high pressure tactic. if they wanted my business they should of sent out the most knowledgeable person to the first appointment. basement guys please quit calling me. This sales tactic does not work.

I can't read the name of the service man I am very sorry to say. He was a gem. Not only was he professional, he was brave enough to go in the back yard with my 6 Golden Retrievers, who made him VERY welcome, so that he could check my septic. I will use again.

Perfect. Mark arrived and gave me a quote of $1850. He then arrived on the day he said he would and he and his men did a great job on installing all the drainage pipe and basin. I am very pleased with not only the work performed but the price was fair as well. I would highly recommend them again.

The job went well. They came soon after estimate, were on time, and on schedule. They waterproofed a little over 2 walls and it took 3 days. We had a minor issue with the finished product and they quickly came out to look at the problem and made a reasonable effort to make us happy. They are very good people and I would use them again if needed.

The drywall is popping from nearly all the joints due to improper installation, the molding is peeling off after being glued on in 2 foot sections, and the tile floors are cracked and coming out due to improper subflooring (not level or installed correctly), grouting, uneven spacing and general poor installation. The tile he put in my upstairs bathroom shower is not level, was installed without spacers (the spacing is uneven as well), and the grout was not done correctly or sealed, so it molded and fell apart within months, literally falling out of the wall. The bathroom shower stall he installed in my basement leaks everywhere, and he cut my main floor joist in half to fit a pipe rather than relocating the pipe, something I haven't been able to afford to repair yet, which has made my house unsafe and the floor above the cut joist squeaky. The shower stall he installed had to be removed as it was leaking from the walls and pipes. Every electrical outlet he touched was messed up - half of them didn't have a working ground, and some were very loose. I had to pay a real electrician to re-wire every single one. It took him months longer than planned to complete the project as well. The quality of his work depends entirely on which sub contractor he hires to do your job on a day by day basis; sometimes he would send a worker home and attempt to (poorly) finish the job himself, like with my electrical outlets and drywall taping / finishing. He asked me for electrical tape a few times while working on lighting fixtures and outlets, then when I told him I didn't have any, he said it was ok as he didn't need it anyway. Everything he touched in my house fell apart within 6-12 months. His people utilized without my permission and broke several of my tools including a yellow floor light and some other various tools. His workers often left messes, and when all was said and done, the house was disgusting and caked with construction dust in every room and in the vents and furnace (as they left the AC on and let the vents circulate while drywalling, also costing me about $500 in furnace cleaning repairs immediately, and another $500 for vent cleaning I haven't been able to afford yet). His workers were not careful with my wood floors and damaged them with scratching by moving around dirt and construction material directly on the wood floors (not cleaning up and not taking off shoes or cleaning shoes or wearing shoe covers).

Once we agreed to contract terms, I paid half of contract up front and scheduled the work for May 5.
A representative called on May 2 to confirm for May 5 and gave an expected time for the workers to show up.
The crew showed up about 30 minutes earlier than I had expected, but I had no problem with that. The crew of four got right to work, kept to themselves, were extremely efficient and for the most part cleaned up after themselves. There was a little cleanup I had to do - mainly cleaning dirty marks off of the doors, but nothing I would not have expected.
The job was originally estimated to take 2 to 3 days, but they spent extra time and got it all done in ONE DAY. They even tied my downspout into the sump drain without being asked just because, as he said, it was "the right thing to do."
I would recommend these guys to anyone. It's been over three weeks and we've had some heavy monsoon rain storms, and my basement is bone dry.
