    Classic Exteriors
I had given them an f review for the way my original estimate was handled. Then when the owner found out what happened he came to my house and assured me that's not how they do business. so I let them have the job. They ended up doing a very good high quality job at a fair price. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

    Muth & Company Roofing
Muth Roofing responded to my request for an estimate within 24 hours. I requested the estimate online through their website. The customer service was excellent and friendly. She scheduled the estimator to arrive within 3 days to inspect a leak on my roof. He was very friendly and went onto the roof and found the problem immediately. An asphalt shingle had a small hole in it and he took a photo of it while he was on the roof. We both went into the attic to verify the leak area and to see the roof boards that were rotted. There was an area about 2' X 3' that needed to be cut out and replaced with new wood (composite board). He calculated the estimate and emailed it to me within 10 minutes of coming down from the roof. My roof is 10 years old and I was worried about being pressured into a new roof but that was never mentioned. In fact he said I could get another 15 years out of it. There was no pressure to do any other work than what was needed to be done. He scheduled the repair and said their jobs were currently running about 3 to 4 weeks out. Muth communicated with me during the planning process and they actually got to the repair a little sooner than expected (within 2 weeks). The repair patch is almost completely un-noticable. You really have to look closely to even see where they patched it. The same style of shingle was used and with a little weathering it will blend perfectly. The repair was done by 2 men, it took about 2 hours to complete, and they cleaned up the debris after they finished. I am very happy with the service Muth provided from start to finish. Although we haven't had a heavy rain yet to test the repair, I was assured that if there was a problem they would take care of it. I will definitely call on Muth for any future repairs or roof replacement. I will also recommend them to my neighbors and HOA community. Thank you, Muth!! :-)

    The Basement Doctor
This is an updated review. I'd had a couple of false-starts over the last couple of years which seem to be due to new people answering the phones and not having a wide enough experience with the company's services. I was pretty sure my vapor barrier has failed in places on what is only an 8-yr old house. I'm an engineer, so I was also pretty sure that the 'perfect' fix meant digging out the basement perimeter outside, removing the wick-board, replacing the vapor barrier coating, refreshing the footer drain material and wick-board, and back-filling ... but I'm no expert an I wanted an expert opinion. Believe it or not, finding a 'basement specialist' who actually knows about this kind of thing and can give knowledgeable input turned out to be almost impossible. I'd spoken to several Angie's List company's and found that none apparently deals with that kind of problem. Basement Doctor/Mr Basement, however, seemed to advertise that this is something they can do, so I called. I had a visit from one person who was unsure, and she arranged for Wes to come out a week later. Wes was great. He knew at the outset I was trying to get a sense of the cost so I could plan for it, that I was guessing somewhere north of ~$15k, and that I probably wasn't about to jump-in and have that level of work done immediately. Even so, he did a thorough inspection, listened to me describe the nature and characteristics of the limited amount of water I'd had on the walls, and discussed the probably causes and remediations. But I was pleasantly surprised when Wes went the extra mile for me, walking the outside perimeter of the house, then looking-over the location of some drainage pipe outlets and making some observations about the relative ground level and basement depth, and pointing out some drainage questions on the lot that I might want to look into. We went over the builders' book for the house and Wes noted that my vapor barrier actually had a 20-year warranty, suggesting that I chase-down the contractor the builder used and see if they were still in business before reaching into my own pocket to do a major refit. That said, he also concurred with my instinct, and explained that a perfect-fix solution would run me about $35k, and of course they'd be happy to do the work for me. However, he also said he thought that it was possible to alleviate the immediate water seepage problems with a mid-term robust solution at much less expensive: An ~$7.8k remediation would stop the water seeping through the inside wall-surface and allow me to finish the basement and use it. I will probably do both eventually, but start with the internal water exclusion in the spring of '16. All-in-all I was very happy with Wes' visit and, while I'd hoped to be entirely wrong about the vapor barrier, I found it comforting to know for sure and have options to move forward with. The company's main-stay clients tend to have a different problem from mine - namely, they usually have ground-water rising due to failed or absent footer drains, and Basement Doctor has a well tested solution for this. But if you're like me and the problem is before water even gets to the footers, then Basement Doctor can probably still help you one way or another and I'd certainly recommend having them come in and take a look.

    Superior Home Improvement
Mark was very easy to talk with. He displayed a bright personality with professionalism in relation to provider/customer interaction. He took the time without hurrying to explain the general condition of the roof and the adverse conditions resulting from missing flashing and clogged eves. I was impressed with the fact that he took pictures before and after his work to show to me. I could see what he had done without having to get up on the roof myself.
The additional work beyond the original "package" was as follows:
+ Installed a new boot over the bathroom vent pipe to replace the old weather-cracked boot
+ Installed new flashing along the roof slant of the upper story below the chimney
+ Cleaned the gutters removing sludge along with obstructions to the waters flow
Mark promised to provide estimates regarding additional repairs and roof replacement. He said he would send to me the pictures he took. I am confident he will follow through.

3/12/14 - Request for quote. Representative arrived to discuss details
3/21/14 - First quote version via email
4/2/14 - Final quote agreed to and permits issued
4/23/14 - Material delivered and work commenced
    5/8/14 - Work completed
Throughout the entire process, Andy kept us in the loop. Attention to detail was outstanding. I never expected it to look this good. This is a screened-in, attached 12' x 12' porch completed in cedar with tongue-and-groove boards, stairway and railing. The inside ceiling is vaulted with a fan box and outlets on all walls. Integration to the house walls and roof appears seamless. I believe they exceeded their budget on this one.
Although some might think they are a bit pricey, it's worth every penny if you want a 1st Class job done.

No work was done because the estimates for both the roof and the chimney were way to high. I got the chimney totally replaced for a third of the price they were asking and they were just going to and quot;fixand quot; it.

    DODDS MODERN LIVING CTR INC
We were very satisfied with them.  It took them about two and half weeks to finish the job.  They did a really good job.  They said that it would take about 10 days to finish the job.  But we ran over that just due to some heavy rains and they couldn’t work.  They moved right on and they didn’t take many breaks.  We were very happy with them.  We asked them to check the windows and see if they have to be replaced.  Our windows were about 35 years old.  They checked them all and said that we don’t need new windows.  They were honest.  We were recommended to them by a friend of ours.  Then we also checked Angie’s List and then took them.

    Newman Roofing
Tim, the owner, spent a lot of time with us when he came out to give us an estimate. He answered all of our questions and didn't make us feel rushed. We were sold on selecting Tim due to his honesty, very reasonable quote and customer service. He assisted us with selecting the color of shingles which we are so pleased with. It is beautiful and matches the house colors perfectly. Tim followed through with everything he promised.
We had some chimney work needing done and Tim suggested we have that done first. We adjusted his schedule so we could have this work done first. He had a crew of 10 work on our house and were done in 1 day. They did a wonderful job. The workers were very respectful of our property and did a great job cleaning up when they were finished. I think this is the first time we have ever used a contractor and not had any issues. I was so impressed with Tim's work and have shared his company with many family and friends. I just can't say enough about him. Tim is very professional, honest, was attentive to our concerns and did an exceptional job. There aren't many businesses like his around. Kudos to Tim Newman Roofing!!
