He did not call. Called two days later stating he would get back to me. After seeing a friend of his two weeks later he had someone drop off an "estimate". A piece of paper that had 4000 dollars written on it. No itmemized list.

    Dave Fihe The Stucco Guy

I live in a rural area in southeast Ohio. I have one of the few stucco homes in my area. It was very hard to find a provider that would come take a look at the repairs needed, as after twenty four years, my stucco had developed several leaks. Dave arrived promptly to provide a work estimate. During the interim between the estimate and the start of the work, I had several questions, and wanted Dave to complete even more work than what was originally agreed upon. Dave, answered all of my questions, and agreed to do the extra work for a reasonable charge.

Dave must be a perfectionist, as his work was very meticulous and his attention to detail was impeccable. I feel that he far exceeded what I expected, and I believe I could not have found someone better to work on my stucco repairs. I had several other estimates, but I am glad that I went with Dave. I should also point out that Dave and his assistant were the ones that completed all of the work, and that Dave does not use unsupervised or subcontracted labor.

Dave Sager came out and gave us a reasonable estimate. His team power washed our home quickly and for a very reasonable price. They also scrub brushed our home with a mold treatment. It looks Great! We will definitely use them again in the future. Great service at a great price!

    Bennett Masonry
Horrible experience. He lied during his interview claiming that he'd have an entire crew to help expedite the work. When he showed up it was sometimes with his wife and sometimes with another male. They weren't there enough to establish a work pattern. He frequently complained about it being too hot to work in the sun although there were multiple house building and roofing projects going on all week within 1 mile of our worksite. He claimed he was laying the stuff out at his house and cutting stone there then he would bring it in and lay it at our worksite. In truth he was not. We inspected it ourselves to determine that. As mentioned he kept asking for more money claiming hard times yet he failed to work hard. We're still not sure why he was laying stone the way he did. There was no clear system or pattern to what he was doing. Many people questioned the way in which it was done but at that point a contract was in place and we were at his mercy. He became difficult to work with in a very short time and at the end after he attempted to confront us over us removing the stone from his location (with permission and authority) the police were called in to intervene.
DO NOT HIRE THIS INDIVIDUAL. If you do, be prepared for excuses and no work and lost money.

We appreciate the professionalism and responsiveness of Matt Cooke and his crew -- which is why we keep returning to them for additional work.  While they might be slightly more expensive than some other contractors, they come when they say they will and stand behind their work.   When Matt comes to do an estimate, he is clear and comprehensive so you know what you are getting for your money. They are ethical, honest and dependable. I strongly recommend this company.

    J&K Contracting
J &K were punctual in giving me an estimate and a design (which clearly planned for 2 gates and the removal of the old deck and attached walkway). Only a few days after receiving the estimate, however, I received a high-pressure call to commit, since other orders were pending. I did it, and J&K promised to start in 30days of signing. 30 days passed and not a word from J&K. I called to complain and was told that I was being unreasonable for expecting them to honor their contract when bad weather had pushed them off schedule.  They agreed to a slight reduction in price (500). When they started, nearly 2 weeks later than the final possible start date (thus nearly 6 weeks after I signed to get on the alleged priority list), they removed part of the deck and were seriously planning on simply building over the old, rotting deck. I complained, and they said this was not in the contract. They agreed, reluctantly, to remove it at no cost. They built the deck and when I said that there needed to be a second gate, they again told me that this was not in the contract, but I discussed this with the manager and drew a very clear picture of what I wanted.  They then charged me  an additional fee for the second gate, almost eliminating my reduction. They completed the deck fairly quickly and for the most part did a fine job. When I asked about the staining of the deck, the workers seemed surprised that this was part of the job because the deck was built from pressure-treated lumber and was still too moist to paint.  Why was this not taken into consideration when I was give the estimate? I agreed to wait a few months to have the deck painted. When the time had come (Feb.) , there had been a lot of rain and I was going to be out of the house for business for several months and I agreed to have the deck painted when I return (July). I called J&K in early August to set up a date to get the deck painted. This was the start of a long list of excuses and "I'm sorry's" from the company secretary. They continually neglected to contact me and continually neglected to put my job  on their list (I had made full payment when the deck construction was completed, which, now , I realize was a mistake. Never pay until all the work has been completed!).  After the initial call in August, the deck was finally painted in November.  The paint job was very sloppy. There were huge gaps of unfinished paint in between the board on the deck . The sides of the deck were minimally painted.
I strongly recommend against using this company's services. My beef here is particuarly directed at the management, who seem to operate under the principle of "get as many contracts as possible" without worrying whether they have the manpower and time to complete them. If you do use this company, be sure to go over every detail and very clearly specify what you want in the initial contract. Also, do not pay the full amount until ALL the work is done.

    Bobcat Excavating & Construction Inc
Overall it went very well. The project took a total of 5 days (two were only half days due to scheduling of the concrete delivery and the final day was only half day due to completion). They arrived promptly each day with plenty of water for themselves since the weather was very hot and humid. They were polite and patient with my many questions and concerns. Even to the point of agreeing to fix the broken neck of my concrete goose! There were usually 3 workers each day-with the exception of the day of concrete pouring-when there were 7 workers. The additional workers were skilled in concrete working and finishing. The first 1 and 1/2 days were devoted to demolishing the old steps and sidewalk and the creation and set-up of the area for the new steps and sidewalk. The third day was devoted to the pouring, leveling, and creation of the steps and sidewalk. The last day and 1/2 was devoted to touch-up work on the steps and sidewalk, re-installing the house siding, landscaping and clean-up. We paid half of the fee after the completion of the first day and the rest when the project was fully completed. There were a couple of stumbling blocks-one side of the form for the steps blew out during the concrete pouring resulting in the right of the steps not being at an exactly 90 degree angle and the stencil on the sides and front of the steps did not work out exactly as planned-but not to the extent that I would think of the project as failed. We are very happy with the end result and have received compliments from everyone who was seen the finished product. We would definately hire them for future projects.
