  • We had used Jim (and Joe) on a previous job and definitely planned to utilize them again. When we intially called, Jim was on vacation. The project was not a rush, so we waited. About a week later, he returned our call and set up a time to take a look in the next day. After the initial examination, I decided to do some prep work as a cost savings (Jim suggested that as an option). Once that was completed, we set up an appointment to have him come back. He was available in the next couple days and arrived promptly. Jim was very willing to discuss what he was doing and answer my questions. The work was done to our satisfaction. I appreciate that Jim was willing to work with me on the project and would defintely use his company again.

  • John is a fantastic electrician. Worked with me on various details to be sure everything was done satisfactorily. He also worked within the confines of outdated and sometimes confusing electric work in our 50s ranch home; not an easy task. We also have the worst (it's official, according to him) pull-down attic stair ladder that he had to manage - also not easy. He had great suggestions for future options and was super pleasant to work with. Also very responsive and great communications, which is HUGE. We will be calling on him again!

  • Literally one of the worst services I have ever paid for. The owner and his crew are clearly very inexperienced. It took his revolving crew over six months to complete a 38 SF bathroom. Yes, over six months. Malek Construction attempted to charge me for things that I paid suppliers for directly, they suggested that I needed to replace my entire plumbing (I had a REAL plumber fix for less than $150), etc. Every aspect of their work (tile, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electric) was shoddy at best. The owner, a seemingly nice guy, offered every "nice" excuse one could imagine. When called out on a direct lie, the owner would simply concede that "that was what his guys told me." I have no idea how they are in business. I would strongly urge anyone considering working with Malek Construction to look elsewhere if time, money, quality, or cleanliness are important. The owner did pay for my dry cleaning bill for clothing items in my closet that his crew managed to leave filthy. I guess that is worth one star...

  • Had previous experience with this company and it was positive. Called to set up appointment to get additional work done. Talked to John and was asked to purchase the lights and call back. Called back several times over a period of weeks and never received a call back. Eventually hired another company.

  • The tech arrived and informed me that the charge for the visit would be $155.49, and that if a service were performed, it would/ might be deducted. After diagnosing the problem (burner switch not shutting off completely), he said that I would have to contact an appliance repairman since he was not permitted to do these repairs due to their insurance coverage. If I had been informed when I called them, I would have called someone else who could have fixed it since this was my goal.

  • My furnace shut off due to electrical issues and I needed to act fast with the weather outside at 40 degrees. I left a VM with John around 10:30 AM and he called me back within an hour to let me know he would be in my area by late afternoon if I needed him. My uncle found my main breaker wasn't giving enough voltage to the bars thus not enough juice to power my dryer OR my furnace. I imminently called John at 2:30 PM and he said he could come within twenty minutes. John checked everything out and agreed my main breaker was the issue and acted fast. He had a main breaker for my box in his truck and gave me step by step details of everything he was doing. I was so thankful he had a spare breaker in his truck and that he could come so quickly. After he arrived, the job took around half hour to complete and my furnace powered back on by 3:09 PM!

  • Two men came from Thompson and spent all day and got both done. They were friendly. Answered any of my questions. Did a great job, cleaned up after themselves, and even helped determine which breakers affected what (which we wrote on both of the doors of the panels). I had gotten three quotes and theirs was the best, and so was their work on the job. I would hire them again and recommend them highly!!!

  • He briefly checked the attic fan and determined it was motor. Told me go Home Depot & get motor. Gave part no. Confident it was right part. Said didn't need entire unit. When I went to Home Depot for part, it was entire unit. Said they didn't sell just motors. If I would have gotten part I was to call back, pay another service call for them to come out to repair.

  • Jim and Joe came and more or less quickly found the problem and fixed. I am so pleased! Service rate was very reasonable and JIm kept me informed throughout the process. He's the one I'll call when any next need comes up!
