Lawn Care reviews in Yorktown Heights

    Martino Landscape & Masonry
Had to fire this company 3 months into the engagement. They did a lousy job on my lawn, it was a pure rush job every week. They guys would do an acre property in 10 minutes and literally sprinted around the yard to finish as fast as possible. I gave them three warnings and the final straw came after they destroyed my morning glory vine. You can do so much better but it would be tough to find someone worse.

They do lawn in the summer and snow in the winter. They mow the yard at $75.00 per mowing. These guy do a lot of yard work for us. Last year, we have a slate walkway to the house. It was buckling because of the tree roots and everything. They dug it all up, reseeded it and put everything back together. Put new wood edging in the side of the walkway. Everything was done to the estimate. When they are done, they clean up. It is a continuing relationship that has lasted 17 years.

    Eddie's Yard
Overall the work is done very well.  Eddie is very attentive and his work is nicely done and detailed.  We use him for regular lawn maintenance throughout the summer as well as other landscape projects, cleanup and snow removal.  I would highly recommend Eddie's Yard.

Contacted the owner in October he gave me an estimate.  Called 2 days
ago to set up the work.  He proceeds to tell me that the price he gave
does not apply and that he wont honor it and that it would be 300% more
expensive than he originally promised.  Then he tried to be smooth and
say that the pricing i received was for good customer only.  Well i
guess i was a bad customer in his book. F

Brian is fantastic.  I was happy when my neighbors recommended him for lawn care after I moved in this past year and he's been my lawn maintenance go-to since.  I called him midday yesterday with an idea I had about ripping out some of my landscaping including some huge hedges and bushes, he met me after work to review the idea, and texted me this morning that he would be able to do the work today!  He then texted me photos of the completed job while I was at work.  I am very satisfied with his work and impressed with his professionalism and look forward to lots more work for him.

Brian (owner) & 1 helper arrive 1 x a wk. on specific day (Thurs), barring any bad weather. Brian mows on tractor, and helper trims, edges & blows away grass clippings. If the lawn is too short any week, they skip the week to avoid drying out the lawn.

    Webers Lawn Care Inc
I used Weber lawn care for about the last two years. This summer, I noticed a decline in service quality. Weber's lawn care guys pretty much refuse to weed wack completely. Anything that might involve an area that is near a fence line, house line, or edge they just simply give an excuse of "well it can hit a rock and break a window". I don't understand this excuse when we're referring to things that are 30 feet away from my house, that is a poor excuse. Why are there weed whackers then? Aren't you supposed to use a guard to prevent from hitting unwanted things? It sounded like a poor excuse not to restring if in case a line broke. The job always looked unfinished because of this reason. When I approached one of his crew members, he indicated that they had weed whacked everything and dismissively said "I don't know what you're talking about". I asked him to walk around so I can show him, then as I'm coming across the myriad amount of weeds, all "low hanging fruit" that he should basically have weed whacked. I asked him if I was imagining the things as I pointed out each one of them? I spoke to Mike Weber in the past. Always polite. However, Mike didn't offer much solution other than coming over, seeing for himself and somewhat agreeing to the missed spots. He said "i'll talk to my guys" and on one occasion "i'll send them over later" and they actually never came later that day. One of our walk throughs, I asked him if my weed whacking expectation was not what he provided. His response was, we can't weed whack near your house because then we'll hit a rock and break a window. Although I can appreciate his divergence to liability, he can also provide a better solution such as "I'll supply the guys with guards on their weed whackers and we'll try again". I discontinued my service with Weber today. I rather pay someone a couple dollars more a week and get the job done right and get the feel of a finished product. Again, this is in no attempt to disregard his services as bad, but for me this is my recount of his services from my perspective as a paying customer and I feel that they were just "average" and at times "below average",  where last year they were "average" and at times "above average". Someone else might be satisfied, but I like to see a finished product and don't really like excuses when I'm paying for a weekly services and recommended his services to plenty in the past on the basis of trying to help. If there is one thing that there's plenty of.. its lawn care services.
Let me put it to you in perspective. I usually get low fade hair cuts. I can get the nicest fade hair cut, but if the barber doesn't edge my hairline, go after the hair on the back of my neck after he removes the barber apron/ponch, all the other details before he sprinkles his barber talc powder and dusts me off... my hair looks like it was done by an amateur or someone who is rushed. And if after I tell you that I missed a spot near my ear and say, I don't want to cut near your ear because I might cut you and you might bleed..why are you in this business cutting hair and collecting $20/cut?

    Griffin's Landscaping Corp
Friday came around and no one had called or stopped by, so I called again to confirm.  I was assured that I was on their schedule to have my lawn mowed by the end of the day.  No one ever showed up.  This is now the second time this company has done this to me!  Each time I called, I spoke to the same person.

    Eddie's Yard
    Eddie?s Yard Maintenance
    I highly recommend Eddie?s Yard
Maintenance. I have lived in Yorktown Heights, New York since 1972 and I have
been using Eddie?s Yard Maintenance for well over 7 years.  The services we use including lawn cutting
and maintenance, Spring cleanup, customizing the front yard and around the
trees and bushes with chips, shrub cutting and Fall Leaves cleanup. Also snow removal.   Several companies we used previously could
not compare to Eddie?s in terms of promptness, courtesy of servicing (I once
called at 4:00 PM when we were having guests at 6:00 PM to ask if the snow
could be plowed ? and our driveway and sidewalks were cleared within the hour)!!
I also notice compared to other
companies that we?ve used in the past that Eddie?s lawn mower blades must be
    sharpened frequently.  With other
companies you could tell the blades were dull since the grass would be flat.

Besides all this, Eddie?s prices are extremely fair and possibly below other
companies.  I reiterate that my wife and
I are very happy with the workmanship, craftsmanship and the quality of service
and we highly recommend Eddie?s Yard Maintenance.

    Tapia's Landscaping
I purchased the "Big Deal" and confirmed twice by email that the appointment was scheduled. The day came, no one showed up. I called at 8:45 in the morning and was told, "I forgot" by Freddy Tapia, the owner. He said he already sent his crew to another location and made no offer to reschedule. Quite clearly he did not want to honor the "Big Deal". Would never use the provider as he is completely unreliable.
