    Mr Chimney
Over the past winter I noticed a bad water leak inside my fireplace that had saturated the mortar and brick. A inspection revealed that the crown of the chimney was damaged and that water had run down interior of chimney and into fireplace. Pictures were taken of the crown and a visual inspection of smoke chamber with tech showed extensive damage within as well as top rows of fireplace brick that had loosened. I was advised not to use fireplace due to the damage. A new crown as well as a custom cap where installed on the exterior and smoke chamber was relined. Also the first two row of fireplace firebrick were removed and reset. Chimney flues were in great shape and chimney was swept as well. Thanks to Adam who supervised and coordinated the job and to my tech Francis who did all the work required over several days. The job progressed to my satisfaction and the crew were meticulous and clean while doing the work and upon completion with cleanup. Would not hesitate to use them again as they are well informed of the workings of chimney and fireplace.

    Always Affordable Chimney Inc
We inherited a hazardous mess when when we bought our home a couple of years ago - 120 year old brick chimney with a huge hole in the base of the stack, crumbling bricks, mortar completely gone in places, fireplace floor missing, liner rusted through. Several masons looked at it and told us to tear it down, so we decided to call chimney specialists. We got three bids, all of which were actually about the same price, but ONLY Al and his crew from Always Affordable got up on the roof to fully inspect the chimney before quoting the job (the others were just guessing at the condition of the liner/interior). They had the best plan for safely repairing the stack and answered all of my questions, and Michelle in the office was great about scheduling and keeping everything organized. Al and his crew were super prompt, very efficient and INCREDIBLY neat. They finished a huge job in less than two days and left my home and basement MUCH cleaner than they found it - they even vacuumed the basement stairs! The fireplace looks great and the stack is now solid as a rock. They even did a few extra tasks while they were on the roof, including adding a cap to our sewer vents and tarring a couple of problem spots, no charge. Really awesome company all the way around. They will be our first call for any future chimney work!

The inspection  of the flu for the oil burner showed that I need to place a liner in the flu.  The technician was able to take pictures of what was going on with the damage and I was able to explain to me in full detail why I needed to get the liner in place I'm very pleased with the service I'm looking forward to doing business with them in the future. The technicians are very knowledgeable.  The technicians were very thorough

We burned about 60 fires last year. No draft issues at all. No smoke issues. It was safe and easy. He also told me we didn't need to clean our chimney every year, based on our usage. Bill is like the big brother I always wanted. Knowledgable, experienced and genuinely helpful. His wife makes all the appointments. I'm glad I listened to her and brought Bill in. Can't wait to see him again. Good luck out there!

    Home Service Experts Inc
They were very hard working, efficient, and thorough and i would highly recommend Nick, and his faithful crew of workers including Sean, and Chris. They were careful to not make a mess and to clean up the work areas, and they made sure they tested everything. They obtained permits for us for the extra back den stove and chimney pipe. I would highly recommend this company for fireplace, stove and chimney work!

    Alpine Chimney Sweeps Inc
We were new home owners and so excited to finally use our fireplace. We bought a groupon for a chimney sweep for our new fireplace.
This was our first mistake.  Rather than use angle's list we booked a random service with a random chimney sweep, and we paid for it. BIG TIME.
they arrived, and "swept our chimney"
they told us our chimney caps were old and needed to be replaced, so we trusted them.  they installed 2 caps.  even from looking at them, they were crooked.  They didn't seem like they were properly installed.
They never discussed price, which of course was another mistake of ours, not asking upfront.
upon completion of the job, they handed us a $500 bill.  They even forgot to credit us the amount we paid for the groupon.
We then had tremendous problems with our fireplace all of last winter.  Smoke filled the room every time we lit a fire.  So much so, we stopped using our fireplace over the bitter cold winter.
This summer we had our roof replaced.  We also needed the facade of the chimney fixed.  When we called another chimney company to come out and give us a quote, they told us the caps that were on the chimney were choking our chimney and causing the smoke problem.  We had a custom cap built (as they don't make caps the size we needed)  and since then our chimney has been working great.
When this year's cleaning took place the guy said the chimney clearly hadn't been swept in years.  Meaning that Alpine did not properly sweep the chimney last year, and then upsold us on chimney caps we didn't need.
I've been trying to speak to the manager for months and he won't return my phone call.  All we want is a refund.
I highly advise staying away from this company.

    Mr Chimney
I had earlier provided an F for poor service. The owner saw the review and called. We had a frank discussion and he admitted the company had let the customer down. He personnally attended the house, on a weekend, and provided a plan on moving forward. This occurred, so we now have a functioning chimney. I am grateful for the owner's responsiveness and professionalism in admitting mistakes were made, but then fixing them.

Big Apple Bbq & Fireplace Inc
Couldn't have gone any better. After shopping around many places and getting discouraged by pricing I came across Big Apple on the Internet. From my first call to Tony, to my first visit in the store with Joe and the last visit with both Tony and Joe everything was professional and courteous. Install went perfect. The installers where professional, courteous and left everything spotless. Thanks again. We will be back.

    US Chimney Corp
I had just converted my home from oil to gas heat and needed a new liner.  US Chimney was not only able to estimate BUT complete the job on the very same day as my initial call to them.  Amazing considering the fact that my house is in Westchester and they're based in Long Island.  The rep (Justin) was knowledgeable, honest & told me exactly what I needed...without over selling me like some of the other chimney companies I'd spoken to.  Competitive pricing & great work!

    Always Affordable Chimney Inc
I'm changing to gas heat from oil.  The permit requires that my chimney is in good condition.  Tommy and his crew came out and checked out the chimney.  Apparently the ceramic liner was cracked. Some pieces were at the bottom of the flue.  The inspection also turned up a missing sheet metal screw.  During a routine cleaning my oil service company had removed the screw from the chimney flue where it held two duct lengths together. I had noticed a funny smell from the cellar usually when the boiler was running.  I had mentioned it to my oil dealer. They came and tuned up the boiler. It seemed to get better but never went away.  It turns out that fumes were coming out of a one inch seperation in the ducts.  The boiler vibrates when it is running.  With time and gravity the seam just opened up.  But we were lucky.  The duct could have just fallen on the ground and suffocated us or started a fire.  A little bit scary.  All for a forgotten screw.
I scheduled the repair.  A double walled steel chimney liner was slid into place.  Sounds easy but my chimney bends around the fire place.  A chimney cap was placed, and the ductwork from my boiler to the chimney was replaced...and secured with lots of screws.
Thanks Tommy and the Crew who found the screw and knew it was important.
