  • Original date of service they did not show up or call and I had to call them to find out why they never came. Rescheduled date of service showed up 45 minutes after scheduled appointment time. However, the service was completed as specified and the guys were always polite and responsive anytime I spoke with them.

  • The job took just under a day and a half to complete.  The work was excellent despite the chimney being in an difficult place to work in.  Tim and his helper Don arrived on time and were very courteous and professional.  We could tell by the way Tim carefully placed and leveled each brick that he truly loves what he does and is an expert at it.
Tim provided us with requested insurance information and a contract with the specifics of the job itemized.
The result is that our chimney looks great and we were very pleased with the work Actual Chimney Specialists did.
    We recommend Tim's company highly.

  • They said they would be here at 9 am and didn't show up until 12. They were here for 2 hours and they couldn't complete the job because they didn't have all of the materials they needed. They told me that they couldn't come back for another week to complete the job. I said it needed to be sooner because I needed to have heat. They came back two days later (I had to take time off of work). The installer came back with extra pipe that he said he had at his house. There were materials that I didn't end up needing so I sent them back with the installer for a refund. I was told there was no refund because there was a bill for the extra pipe (which the installer had brought from home). I was told I would be getting a credit from a sales associate but later recieved an e-mail from a manager stating there would not be a refund due to "cost of extra materials". They are so unorganized.

  • The installers showed up within the scheduled time frame were polite.  Prepped the area for the work by covering the area with cloths.  They then removed the old fireplace insert being careful to keep the debris on the covering.  They cleaned the area and then installed the new insert.  They were very careful at the end to cleanup the area.  They also went over safety and cleaning the new fireplace insert.

  • William Suprenant agreed to fix my chimney. His signed proposal states, "I propose to remove all brick and clay flu's on the Front chimney. I will remove it down to the roof line. I will also remove all the tar and old flashing. I will reuse all brick that are not detiorated or covered in tar. Once removed and cleaned I will relay and re flash this chimney to the original height....etc". He did replace the top of the chimney, but the first four layers of brick starting at the roof line are broken, crumbling and deteriorating. He took a new piece of flashing to cover the old crumbling bricks and built the chimney up using the old crumbling bricks as it's foundation....major safety hazard. I have a police report and plan to take him to small claims court. for $1600. He told he he can't afford to give me my money back. I told him I would work with him on a payment schedule and he said he would call me back...He never did. He is still paying a pretty penny for running his advertising in local papers, so he can't be that broke. Now I am proceeding with consumer advocate watchdogs, such as Angie's list, BBB & Atty General. He also installed a concrete landing and removed old concrete steps for $600. The concrete landing was too small and my husband and I had to remove it ourselves. So, we took a bath on that too. During the processes of making this concrete slab, he used our lumber from the front porch that we were using for inside renovations to pour the concrete slab. When he removed the old concrete steps he used our dumpster for the concrete debris. Dumpsters are expensive and you pay by the weight. We needed that dumpster for other construction debris....NOT concrete! My husband jumped inside the dumpster and removed all of their discarded concrete debris. He also did a job for a friend of mine and told her he needed $40 for a tarp to put over her unfinished chimney. She paid him and he ended up taking a tarp from her own backyard to cover her chimney. This guy is a player. I have photos, police reports, the WJS proposal, and my proof of payment to back up my story. Apparently, this William changes the name of his business frequently. Known addresses he has used in the past are 356 4th St. Basement-Troy, NY 12180, 52 Colonial Dr. Clifton Park, NY 12065, and 221 Stow Av Suite D10, Troy, NY 12180. Tel no's are 518 649-7947 & 518 892-8129.

  • Surprised to see A/B rating...Called co. because we were unable to open chimney flue. Their "video inspection" failed to notice 35 lbs. of cement debris that was left by a chimney repair co. and we were told that we needed to get a new damper door installed. My husband and brother were able to remove the old cement with much difficulty and problem solved !

  • I called Empire; explained the problem; was put on hold to check rep's schedule; told that someone could be on site within two hours; rep arrived and problem was solved within an hour's time. This thermostat is also easier to use than the one that wasn't working properly.

  • Justin and his assistant showed up ahead of schedule and were courteous and explained the entire process before they began. They protected all of the surfaces where they were working with drop cloths and started their work. They hooked up a vacuuming and while Justin was on the roof sweeping, his assistant was sucking up the debris. They swept and cleaned the fire box and then cleaned the work area. The whole process took approx. an hour and a half. They were very thorough and took the time to provide me with literature to replace the tired hearth enclosure.

  • The crew was able to start work the very next day after my phone call! They completed the work in a day and a half. The work was completed very well, very clean, and is guaranteed for two years by WA Miles. George was courteous, friendly and accurate in his description of the work to be performed in advance of the start of work. They were a bit rough on the yard with their trucks, but this was certainly not a deal breaker. I would certainly recommend WA Miles and will most likely hire them in the future to do additional work at my house.
