My family and I met with Carl to get an estimate. We had a lot of outside work to get done - the roof, gutter, siding, windows, shutters, and doors. Carl was very helpful and took the time to explain what materials would be used and the process/steps of doing the work. We wanted the work to be done during the summer; however, the work was completed prior to summer. The workers were very professional and did an amazing job - we love everything!! The only thing is we ordered our outside lights and they came after the siding was installed; hence, we are still waiting for someone to come out and install them. They said they are busy; hence, we might have to hire someone to install them. Other than that we are happy with the work and the finish product; hence, we definitely would hire again for future work. Thank you Carl for helping us with selecting cost effect products - once again we love it!!

There was some trouble with the sub contractors in the beginning re windows, roof and leaders/gutters. There were also some mix-ups on arrival times as well. When I contacted their service department they listened to my concerns; had someone come to the house and checked out everything; then made arrangements to have everything fixed to my satisfaction. I had no problems with the subcontractors they used for the door and siding; and they cleaned up thoroughly after finishing the work. The quality of the materials cannot be questioned as it is excellent; in fact my brother had his roof replaced by them as well. I also like the fact that their windows, siding and door are guaranteed for the life of the house and that guarantee is transferrable to the new owners if I decide to sell. The roof is also guaranteed for 50 years; I do not know of any other company that gives such guarantees. After the windows were put in I had a problem with a squirrel chewing through my window screen; called them up and they sent someone out to replace the screen. My poodle made a hole in the screen at another time and they came to replace that as well; no extra charge no questions asked. Like everyone else I wish prices were lower; but for the quality of their materials; well the old saying is "you get what you pay for" so I really can't complain.

The aluminum awning for our carport was failing so we contacted several vendors on Angie's List to replace it. I found Custom Windows & Doors to be very professional - for the estimate Valentino was on time and was careful to explain all of the options and answer all of our questions without feeling rushed. And there was no hard sell during the visit to do the estimate, which I really appreciated.
After reviewing several bids we decided to go with Custom Windows & Doors. We had some scheduling challenges due to work commitments and the fact that we were having our roof replaced at the same time and Valentino was very flexible, never got annoyed when we kept changing dates. And during this time when communicating with his office they were very organized, none of of our updates "fell between the cracks". Eventually we got the date figured out and Custom Windows & Doors came on site and knocked the job out in a day.  And our awning looks great!
Valentino himself was here all day to supervise the work and answer and keep us up to date. And his crew did a nice job cleaning up afterwards. At every level (communications, punctuality, workmanship, etc.) I was really impressed with Custom Windows & Doors and would highly recommend them.

The storm door looked nice at first glance. Problem #1 The caulking for the capping on the storm door is literally the sloppiest  i have ever seen. All they had to do was smooth it out with a finger or a wet rag. I had to strip the caulking and re do it. I am not a contractor. Then i assume the caulking finished because some of adhesive was used to finish the job; it never dried. again i had to strip it and finish it.
Problem #2- The short Baldheaded gentleman (the main guy) will sell you his doors as gods gift. That peep hole is not what he makes it out to be. Its just a peephole, the home depot sales it just as well.
#3 the racoons opened it right back up. They just capped the hole without reinforcing it.
#4 The capping on the roof although completed to meet the intent of capping it is sloppy. NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
#5 The gap between the door and the storm door was not measured properly prior to installation. So i can only fit the key on the inside part of the house to open the door( it locks from the inside) The paint is stripping of the doors.
I am not saying the company does bad work; however due to my experience i would not use the company to hammer a nail in my house.

Everything went well.  Staff of about 6 men came at 6Am to drop of dumpster for the junk concrete.  Started working  at 7AM with

demolition. Built new steps from back door.  Finished with all work by 6PM.

We were not happy with the way the top step was finished.  I called the salesman, with whom we made the contract.  We came to an agreement.  Today, 5/27/15 two masons came back and redid the stairs to my satisfaction.  I was quite delighted with the way they handled the situation.  No argument.  He just came back the next day and did what I asked and to my satisfaction.     I am now very satisfied.  I thought They were a little expensive, but there was no stress. The rest of the concrete work was excellent.

    Mr. Handyman of NE Queens
My appointment was at 9:00am. I looked at the time and realized it was pasted 9:00am. So I called the owner of Mr. Handyman Larry. He told me he thought we agreed on 10:30am. I wrote down the time in my planner so there is no way I can make a hour and a half mistake. Another thing is the person who came for the estimate George was sick so he sent over his other guy Marco come do the way instead. I wish I had waited for George because Marco was rude. It was like because I was a woman my word about what I thought about his work didn't matter. The work I needed done was to fix the door frame of the front of the house. He did the job. The job that was bad. He built the wood out so far of the frame you can't even turn the door knob. If you have big hands you will have a problem opening and closing the door. I closed the door and jamed my hand in the door because the frame was built out so far. Aside from that when you try to lock the door the hole where the lock is doesn't meet the hole. The hole for the lock was made in the wrong place so you can't lock the security lock. When Marco finished work that was done badly he told me he had to go and was rushing me. I told him I was looking at the job he did. He told me I already looked that I should pay him so he can go. Since then I've been trying to call about the job that was done badly and nobody will return my call. I left about eight messages starting from yesterday. I would most definity not use MR. HANDYMAN again.

Called up the office to schedule an appointment, office staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Owner came out for an estimate, was punctual, did not rush us, asked all the right questions. Came to an agreement on price and date of completion. They were able to send someone out a few days earlier than promised, which was appreciated. Worker was on time, was very meticulous, left the site clean, did excellent work.
