Coverage is great. However my premiums last year rose 23%, quite a shocker. As I am retired, I actually took home less money that year because of the increase in medical premiums.

I had a medical condition and they called to check on me. Really rare to have that happen. Very nice.

I called the 24 hour help line that they provide. The representative on the line was an actual nurse, and she was very knowledgeable. She gave me many suggestions and knew enough about diabetes to carry on an intelligent conversation. The help line is nice because there is always someone there, and if the representative that you get does not know how to help you, he will find someone that can.

I'll be getting Medicare next year but I'll be supplementing with Independent Health. They are very good. I haven't had to call for anything but if I have an emergency, they have a hotline for the nurses. It's really good. I used the hotline 4 years ago when I had a fall, but other than that I go to my own doctor's office. They are really good on the hotline. I call them and I get someone there and they will ask me questions whether it's about health insurance coverage or what else. My son is in college and I asked them about coverage, dental, and stuff that I have, and different things. I've been using their company since 1997 or 1998. I like their rates and they are honest. I like the fact that I can reach them, very reasonable without waiting and waiting, and they have answers for me. They are knowledgeable. I've never had to deal around and talk to 20 different people or have them direct me to someone else like they do nowadays for everything. They are just very accommodating, knowledgeable, and their website is great. I get newsletters in the email about healthy choices of living and different events to take part in. It's just really good. They are getting more and more out in the public and community, and I like that. In the healthy respect, it's great. Pricing this year is great. I'm paying for family coverage and it's good. The rates went down so it's really good this year. The copay came down and everything. It's nice to know that my trip can come down actually. I thought it would go up, up, up. That's a plus in that respect. Their communication is excellent. Responsiveness is always good. Coverage is excellent. Billing is fine. Even when I retire, they will be my supplemental agency when I go on Medicare.

The person I spoke with on the phone was very helpful. They were able to reimburse the money that had been taken from my card and sent me a confirmation, in writing, that my card balance was back to what it should be. The person I spoke with was knowledgeable, friendly, and very understanding,

Representative took all the information I provided and called the out of state hospital to resolve the problem. Representative was efficient and polite. I have never had a problem with this insurer.

I have had Independent Health as my health insurance provider since I started my current job (about 1.5 - 2 years now). They have been very helpful whenever I have had to call with a question, which is rare because they have a very user friendly website. They take a very active involvement in there members health and wellness having many different options ( i.e. debit cards that can be applied to gym memberships) for their members.

Every few months, In dependent Health calls to determine my medical health, e.g., problems, current treatments. I have been associated with this insurance provider for a number of years. I find Independent Health to be concerned about my well being in addition to paying for medical treatments.

My BC/BS plan has drug coverage and I pay no commission to BC/BS. Of course, this means higher copays, but at the end of the year, I hope to pay less than the higher commission plans. All of my doctors were in the HMO and I can see a specialist without a referral. I can have phone conversations with a and quot;Health Coachand quot; to keep me on track to better health. I am pleased with the lack of paperwork and the care I get under this plan.
