    Ed Young's True Value Hardware
Jon was punctual, thorough, + communicative. The drain problem took longer than expected and when i mentioned i had an another appt that perhaps I should reschedule, he suggested i wait. Not 10 minutes later a 2nd plumber, Scott, arrived to work on the bathroom tub drain so that Jon could finish the basement project and so I could make my appt. i have hired several plumbers over the last few years with varying results and will always call Ed Young's in the future. Although more expensive than other plumbers, the quality and professionalism of Ed Young's Plumbing is unsurpassed.

Mike Forster performed drywall and closet door installation at home.  Finished work meticulously and cared about my opinion and questions.  I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good, kind and considerate contractor.  He does all his work at a fair and decent cost.

    Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
From the outset, I was impressed with how quickly Roto-Rooter initiated contact to schedule plumbing service for our newly purchased home.  Within 11 minutes after purchasing the $75-credit-for-$25 "Big Deal,"  I received a message requesting my telephone number which I had inadvertently neglected to provide.  After I replied with my number, I received a call within the matter of an hour or so (at most) to schedule service.  The scheduler was extremely polite and accommodating in scheduling service the next day, given the fact that we could not use our kitchen sink, dishwasher, or our washing machine in their respective then-current states of disrepair.
Within the appointed frame (and after alerting us by phone in advance), Gary and his trainee/assistant, Dave, arrived at our new house to survey the plumbing problems we had listed in our message to Roto-Rooter.  After some discussion and advice, they returned within the designated time frame the following day to do the repairs and faucet installation.  During both visits, both Gary and Dave could not have been more courteous, professional, and accommodating.   Because we had just moved in, there were boxes everywhere, and Dave moved several in the kitchen, without complaint, in order to access under the sink.  Gary showed us what the issues were, explained what needed to be done, and what they were doing every step of the way.   In fact, we were only charged for parts for repairing the newly discovered leaks.  At one point, Gary had asked for a towel to wipe up a leak from the washing machine connection;  when it became rather dirty, he kindly offered to have it laundered and returned to us later on.  (I have no doubt that towel will be clean and on its way back to us.)  Both were especially polite and kind to my 95 year-old mother, which I truly appreciated.
We chose to purchase Roto-Rooter's "Big Deal" and to engage the company for these repairs because we had used Roto-Rooter in the past and had always been pleased with the service.  We had previously tried another plumber who came recommended from Angie's List, with whom we were most disappointed.  Roto-Rooter and its representatives have proved themselves once again to be reliable, dependable, and thoroughly professional, and will continue to be our go-to plumbers should any other issues arise in the future.

    Roto Rooter
Excellent experience overall. The dispatcher calls ahead of time to tell you when the technician is on their way which is helpful. In this case they asked if the technician could come early, which is certainly better than late! The technician, Jim M., was wonderful. He was professional and friendly. He explained to me as much, or as little as I would like to hear. I was very interested in watching the job progress and he had no problem with me over his shoulder, so I could be informed with the equipment (new experience for me). The job appears to have been done well, the parts are good quality, and I do not believe that they cut corners, in fact there are company policies that prevent them from such a thing. Afterwards Jim walked me through everything that was done, and how to use the products should I need to repair in the future. He even installed a drain spout so that any sump release from the back-up wouldn't ruin my grass. All in all, a pleasure to work with, both the office staff and the technicians. I am happy with the service and would definitely call them in the future for any more plumbing work!

    ATM Plumbing & Sewer Inc
I used an Angie's List discount to call about a clogged shower drain but when  I showed the plumber signs of a leak in the bathroom below, he discovered the cause was a leaky pipe in the upper shower stall. It could have cost me a lot more later if this had not been found.  He and his helper repaired the pipe and cleared the drain.  He also replaced the damaged ceiling tiles in the lower bath.  They were on time and efficient in the repair.  I think the price was fair for the work done.

    Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
Was a late evening service call and the technician arrived at 11:30 PM as was promised. Snaked the line and hit an obstruction that his cutters would not pass beyond, but cutterrs also did not pull back any organic material which may have indicated roots. Technician left without either fixing or diagnosing the problem and we paid for the call. He did however arrange for a supervisor to inspect the line with a camera the next day. Camera was still inconclusive as to the problem but was told it looked like a pipe collapse. He identified where he felt it was and gave us an estimate of $850 to hand dig a 3 foot hole and inspect the pipe and change out up to 3 feet of it. 15 years ago Roto Rooter did the initial install of this drain tile system. We had a similar problem with heavy rains for the first 5 years the new system was installed. The came out and snaked but the problem reoccured - and we were charged for most of those calls. Finally they put a camera in and said we had roots - however their cutters would not go throught it. So they said a dig was the only way to get at the problem and they quoted $1,000 - which we balked at. They then agreed to $600. They performed the dig and it was discovered that when the initial installation was done, in hooking the sump pump line into the drain tile, the technician cut a square hole into the drain tile and just shoved the round sump pipe into the tile pipe. This casued a blockage in the main tile especially when leaves or other debis was washed down the spouts and aso allowed dirt to seep in around the pipe as there was no seal or fittings. It also explained why thier cutters did not get through it what they deemed a "particularly tough root".

We were observing the work when the repair techncian found this inapprpriate hook up and he immediatly called his supervisor who wanted to know if the custmer (us) were aware of it yet and could he cover it or fix it before we saw it. The technicaian told him that we were there when it was first discovered. The technicain was ordered to fix it properly which he did. We refused to pay given they caused the intial problem with the faulty hookup. The supervisor initially threatened us but we stated that interior damage to the basement had been caused by the backups. We never paid and calls were never returned to discuss any further concessions.

We called them this time knowing that it is a different crew of techs and supervisors but it is their installation. THe entire history of the install was shared with the current supervisor and although he was a nice enough guy, he also could not really diagnose the problem and said he had not caused the problem -- in other words -- Roto Rooter does not stand behind thier work. When you call the main number those folks say they are not in charge of the local techs and supervisors and the local guys pass the buck. Bottom line is that we wil NEVER call, use or provide any positive feedback on them again.

    Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
David showed up right on time. We walked
around and he explained what he was going to do and got started right away. The
drain did not clear easily due to some tree roots in the line. David spent the
extra time to get it done right. Drain is working great now.

    Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
Albert and Dakota arrived at 8:30 and began work right away. Cement was hard to break up because it was deep and had chunks of cement in as a filler. They repaired the drain tile, running hose water through the extent of the outside drain tiles and saw that the pump now worked perfectly. Also made an extra trip to Home Depot to get a fitting to muffle the sound of the pump flush outside. Works well. Also, i asked if they would snake my stationary tub drains which they did. I was very pleased with their work.
