    Flood Pros of NY
at 3 am I had a back up in the basement . It was up three inches onto dry wall. Kevin and the guys at Flood pros were there within a half hour. they had all water out, walls drilled and all fans in the basement ready to go . The willingness to get to my house in order to alleviate my stress is unlike any other company I have ever had the pleasure of doing buisness with . I highly recommend flood pros !

    Picture Perfect Home Improvements
I hired Picture Perfect to work on two bathrooms in my mother's home. I'm located out of state, so it was important to find someone I could trust to do good work and also ensure my mother was pleased throughout the entire process. My wife and I often rely on AngiesList reviews when choosing a contractor, so I hope this review and recommendation will be helpful to others.  The first project was a remodel of a small bathroom that included repair of a water damaged floor, replacing a sink/faucet/mirror, and some tile work. Everything went well, so afterward we scheduled work on the 2nd bathroom which was a much more extensive project. The 2nd bathroom was a new bathroom. Rob did everything from plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, installing sink/tub/toilet, tile and painting. Throughout the process Rob did a good job of communicating with me and sending invoices as stages of work were completed. He even sent photos to me so I could see the results. He also worked well with my mother to ensure she was happy throughout the process and pleased with the final results. Rob also helped with several other small things that were needed around the house.  Rob is a very hard-working, skillful, and has a great attention to detail. I'm lucky to have found him (thanks to AngiesList) and glad I hired him. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of this kind of work.

RALPH RICE & SONS PLUMBING INC
We had flooding in September and we had to have plumbing work done in the basement as the water pump was dried on the boiler that we built on our furnace. They were really fantastic. We had just moved into the house when the flooding happened. We had just bought the house and so, funds were low after that. They came the very next morning. We did not have water in the well as the water pump was fried. They came as soon as they could get to our house because unfortunately the entire area had flooded due to the flooding. So, the roads were closed down. They did $1375 worth of work with $100 of deposit knowing that we did not have the money at that moment in time to pay them. They were very quick and very efficient. They were in and out. They pumped out the remaining water that we had in the basement with a sump pump and did not charge us for it. It was five weeks since we had moved to the house and the flooding was one of the things that you would want to bang your head against the wall for wondering if it was really happening to you. We had a lot of damage with the water pump and boiler frying. Our washing machine was about a foot under the water and the motor died. The flood started on the 7th of September and it continued through the 8th of September. They were there on the 10th of September. They came out on Friday to see as to what we needed and were here first thing on Saturday morning. I don't have anything to compare their price to. They were excellent in terms of their quality and responsiveness. They were small time plumbers for me to be talking about their professionalism. They were professional but they were not here in a tie having an in depth conversation or anything like that. They were basically in and out very quickly and did their job.

    Brigham Builders
I couldnt be more pleased with Brigham builders. The work, the price and this contractor are fantastic. He did exactly what he said he was going to do, for the price he quoted. He was in continual contact with me throughout the whole process.... I called once in a panic on a Sunday night and he got right back to me. His work was completed more or less on time. There were a few delays, but given the amount of work theses guys have in this area now, the wait times were reasonable. He dealt really well with all my changes and had great suggestions. If he had to charge me for something extra, he would discuss it first. All the guys he brought in for specialty work did as good a job as he said they would. When my own pick of an electrician failed, Kraig brought in his guy who straightened everything out for me. They were clean and professional. Overall, if you need someone who will communicate with you, deal honestly and fairly and do a good job...this is the contractor you want.

    Stanley Steemer - Vestal
Due to a Water Damage caused by a faulty Baseboard heater, Stanley Steemer was called by the General Contractor to perform restoration on a new addition to the house. Their work was done in a timely manner however when I stopped by their offices later in October to ask a few questions about the mishap that happened on their part while on this job, their manager got very defensive & at times hostile towards me. During the restoration process their crew accidentally cut through the floor joist & the attached PEX piping under the newly installed Subfloor; water containing Glycol Anti-freeze gushed out as a result; Luckily I was around to shut the valve off immediately otherwise there may have been another case of flooding to deal with as a result of their work! .

My home was damaged because my hot water heater ruptured and sprayed hot steamy water all over the basement which caused mold to form and corroded through insulation on old electrical wiring and corroded the fuse box. My insurance company covered the damages except for the water heater. When the first check came Chris insisted that he needed the money up front to buy materials so I gave him a personal check for $2644 on June 28th. He did nothing after that except to have a mold assessor come over to see what kind of mold it was and the protocol that would be needed to clean it up. Then according to my insurance adjuster the mold assessor wasn't even certified to do the assessment. Chris was also supposed to replace a window in my son's bedroom (which he did), but he also knocked out the wall underneath it and tried to fix it but I can still see the ground underneath it without looking out the window. He also damaged the siding on my house. He also cut a 4 foot hole in my bedroom wall to supposedly have an electrician put a circuit breaker box in it and run wires. He had an electrician come and do an estimate and told me that he needed the money up front to pay the electrician. I asked him why he couldn't use the money I already gave him (because at that point he hadn't done anything) and he insisted that those moneys had to be kept separate. I spoke to my insurance adjuster and he was going to mail a check for the electric and I explained to him that I was uncomfortable giving Chris more money. When I told Chris on the phone that the check would be in the mail he called the insurance adjuster without telling me, and went and picked it up. He did bring it to me to sign but I was mad. Unfortunately I signed it and he received another $3250. After Chris replaced the window in my son's bedroom and left the hole in the wall he didn't bother to show up for several days and refused to answer my calls, so I called and left him a message that I wanted my money back. He came to my house with the police to get the tools he had left here, but did not return any of the money I had given him. He is dishonest and does very shoddy work. Don't waste your money!

    SERVPRO
He never gave me a quote for what the job would cost. They vacuumed the water out of the garage and home with a shop vac. They also put in a dehumidifier and fans. He handed me a bill after the job was completed for $1,550. They were in my home for only 2 hours. I called the vice president of Servpro to complain about the bill. I mean, how can you justify that cost? The vice president lowered the price to $550 to me over the phone. I called the New York Attorney General - Consumer and Fraud Division to report them. Yesterday, they took me to small claims court to collect the remaining amount which the judge ruled in their favor. When the judge ruled in their favor, the vice president requested the full amount instead of the lowered price she offered me over the phone and in writing. I don't think this company would be the best company to deal with as 1) they weren't upfront of the cost and 2) they didn't do that much to warrant such a charge.

    SERVPRO
In September 2011 we were hit with flooding from Tropical Storm Lee. We called Serv Pro to come out for an estimate on cleaning our basement. They came out to our house and pulled up in a Serv Pro truck from California. The 2 Serv Pro employees went down in my empty, concrete basement and asked what I wanted the estimate for...I said "Cleaning", and they said "Did you already clean down here ?" I said "No" So they took measurements and told us we would be getting an estimate from their California office VIA E mail. We received the E Mail estimate for $5000 ! We felt this estimate was WAY out of line for cleaning an empty concrete basement. We feel that they were trying to take advantage of the situation by inflating their prices. We did not go with this company.
