AMid Suffolk Cesspool ServiceWe just moved to New York and Long Island less than a month ago. We have never had a cesspool before and didn't know what to expect. A few days ago, we noticed brown water coming through a wall in our basement. Not knowing what to, we called a plumber. The plumber recommended this "Mom & Pop" company and thank God he did! Robin came out the next day and gave us the news. Turns out, we have 3 cesspools, one that was old and sealed up and the other 2 were not in bad shape (one looks like it's new but they were not emptied in many many many years). What was in bad shape was the pipes going to the pools (they were literally deteriorating) . Another problem was a pipe in the house was not "capped off" rather then "scrunched closed" so literally sewage was being spilled throughout insulation of the house. All this being said, we had no idea how much this would cost us. Robin replaced all the pipes, emptied pools and even removed the insulation and clean the walls. All of this for a very reasonable price. Robin is meticulous with his work. He assured us everything will be good as new. He and his co-worker completed the job in 1 1/2 days. With no knowledge of cesspools, someone could have easily taken advantage of us and I am so happy his company was recommended. I would recommend them to anyone and will be using him in the future when it comes time to empty the pools again. One thing we did learn, anyone that owns a cesspool, use Scott's toilet paper only. No Charmin or quilted Northern. Thank you Robin for excellent work and most importantly, peace of mind!- Kim B.

They showed up on time, got right to work, spent the time answering my questions and making sure I understood the type of cesspool system I had and how to maintain it. We place a call on Sunday, received a call back that day and a slot in the schedule for Monday. ATOM EGANS CESSPOOL SERVICETom's company was the second company called in to dig up our septic system to be inspected by the department of health. The first company made a mess of the inspection. From the first few shovels full of dirt, Tom was convinced the system would not pass inspection. While disappointed, it was clear that Tom knew what he was talking about. The septic system that had been installed many years back (by Priority Cesspool/Clear River - don't ever call them) was done terribly; it was undersized, missing a baffle, buried too deep, etc. Tom worked with our engineer to abandon the old system and install the new. He was there for every level of inspection, follow-up, answered every call with any questions and was responsive on every level. He has been polite and a pleasure to work with, as has been every member of his team. I very strongly recommend Tom and company.- Michael A.

AWe had a great experience working with TJB plumbing. We engaged Tom to install four new bathroom vanity tops and plumbing fixtures. Since all the old hot and cold shutoffs were corroded and did not close properly, he first replaced all of them as well as the ones for the toilets. This work was done expeditiously, since he tried to minimize the time we would be without water. He then was sensitive to the schedules of the people delivering the vanity tops, waiting nearby to make sure he would be there when they arrived, making sure that they would not be inconvenienced while he installed the fixtures, and that we would have our new sinks in working order as soon as possible. A few years ago, Tom replaced our leaking water heater. In the process he relocated the gas line so that we would be able to install a utility sink in the future, which otherwise would not have fit and which others probably would not have thought to do. We highly recommend Tom’s excellent work.

AThey were great!!! I was tardy in getting an inspection / removal of oil tank in preparation for sale of my home. The tank turned out to have been punctured over the years with some contaminated materials around it. The Castlton Crew offered a fair price for the remediation work, and once they knew my situation, were very responsive in cleaning the site, and keeping me informed about state inspection/approval process and trying to quicken the process as much as possible.

AI had the pleasure of working with Jeff W. as the GC for Gotham Builders on my construction project. After getting estimates from 4 different companies, I selected Gotham because of Jeff’s demonstration of knowledge and his professional demeanor which continued throughout the project. I had a sunroom extension and 2nd story deck above this constructed across the rear of my home. I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER WITH THE RESULT! Even though the pandemic hit during the construction, Jeff and his crews worked safely (reduced & masked man power once allowed) and got the job done in good time. Whenever there was a hiccup in the process (As we all know there will be!) Jeff was always available and communicated with me, the architect and the permit board swiftly to resolve the issues.
