The work that they do is excellent. Gregorio and his team are the best and I wouldn't trust anybody else to work on our home. They are extremely professional, care about what they do, and they stand by their work. Gregorio is knowledgeable and creative in his approach to design and problem solving. The team is careful, thorough, neat, and they are reliable and responsible. They are friendly, accommodating, easy to get along with, and a pleasure to work with. Mr. Rubin was helpful in his recommendations on repairing and also guided on which fence with gates would be suitable for our needs. He was always available to speak with if needed. The work was done in a timely manner. We are very satisfied and would definitely recommend them!

    AF & Sons
Greg and his crew did an excellent job extending a sunroom (addition with raised ceiling) to the house, renovating a full bath and making some repairs and changes to the garage. Greg has a very smart approach to problem solving, very experienced, and is not pushing you into projects that are not necessary. There were no surprises along the way in terms of adding cost to the project. His estimates are very accurate. His team provided high quality workmanship and it all looks beautiful. Everyone was very professional, trustworthy and pleasant to work with. Would definitely hire AF & Sons again.

    Rolling Stone Masonry Ltd
Charlie met with my wife and I and reviewed several options and price points for a new masonry retaining wall and to repave the driveway. After we made our selection Charlie personally dropped off stone samples at our house to ensure that we would be happy at the end of the day. The job was completed in two days without issue and we love the results. We couldn't have asked for better client care or a better job done. I highly recommend Rolling Stone for all your masonry needs.

    Action Construction Inc
Stan came to view the job and told me that more hours than purchased would be needed to finish. I agreed that if the workers were diligent and they ran out of time I would pay the difference. 8 hours prepaid turned into 2 people for 8 hours and I paid the difference. The two workers were on time, they worked hard all day, did a terrific job and clean up well. The only problem I had was that I was trying to schedule the work on my day off and there were four days of calls and emails that were not returned.

If you need someone to do your driveway then look no further. Jose is the man for the job. Last summer, I finished 2 additions on my house that took 1 1/2 years from start to finish. I hired all the contractors on my own and it was a tremendous learning experience. I got multi bids on everything from the excavating to framing to insulation to heating/act and all finish work. By the time it came to the last project of digging up the driveway and putting in a new one, I had learned a lot. I got several bids on the driveway and after meeting Jose, I knew I was going to hire him. He gave me a fair price and then delivered on everything he said he was going to do. He is a true professional who takes real pride in his work. He brought in an army of workers and supervised the entire job. The finished product exceeded my expectations. I just had my first winter with the new driveway and it still looks as it did when Jose finished it last summer. I recommend Jose without reservation. I truly believe you won't find anyone better.

I had a stone, slate and concrete entryway staircase of 3 or 4 steps that was in disrepair and that looked to have been built somewhat amateurishly and unevenly by a prior homeowner.
I received several estimates from other masons who determined that this existing stairway would need to be entirely torn out and a brand new stone staircase built at a cost of $2,500 to $3,000.
Luis from L & Z Masonry figured out a clever way to retain most of the existing concrete structure, install new bluestone treads, and raise/rebuild a portion of the existing slate walkway to make the whole stairway even and to meet code.  The results were outstanding and saved me a significant amount over what had been quoted by his competitors.  This stairway will probably stand for the next 100 years.
It takes considerable skill and experience to come up with a creative solution the way Luis did.
I recommend him without reservation and hope to use him again to rebuild a stone patio in the future.

    Action Construction Inc
)Mr. Brown, the owner of Action Construction, was initially difficult to get him to return my calls (I called Angie's List to complain). I discovered that his business was located in Danbury, CT which is one hour driving distance from White Plains, NY.  Had I known that, I would not have purchased the deal; instead looking for a business local to me. Once we spoke, he sent a manager from I believe Greenwich, CT to make measurements of my attic ladder. I was charged extra for the measurements (total time spent was 10 minutes).
On 8/31/2015, the day that the installation was to happen, the installaters did not come at the agreed time of 8:00am. The owner called me around 9:30am, to tell me that the replacement ladder was damaged in transit, so the installers had to go to Home Depot to find a new one. The installers called to tell me that they were on the way, but also had told the owner that they had already arrived (a difference of 30 minutes). Mr. Brown told me that the cost for the initial measurements, plus the Home Depot ladder would be $350. When the installers removed the wood frame around the attic, the wood was damaged. So, I drove one installer to Home Depot to purchase replacement wood for an additional cost of $50. Although the new ladder was installed, the exterior wood is not painted. The installers ran out of the allotted time of 4 hours through the Angie's List deal and I didn't want to pay them an additional hourly rate to do the painting. The installers did not take the debris of the old attic ladder with them, instead it was disposed of in my condominium shared dumpsters.
I did not receive an invoice for the work that was done and still don't know what the true cost of the ladder was. My independent research found the ladder to cost approximately $200. So, I still don't know why was I charged an additional $150. Was it for travel time by the installers and/or the initial measurement?

    Rolling Stone Masonry Ltd
What a find! Charlie and his crew were outstanding from start to finish. Quick estimates in a timely manner. The work was performed as scheduled. Even when work was delayed one day, they did not miss a beat. Charlie helped us decide on appropriate color schemes, when choosing pavers. His crew removed all of the old concrete neatly and efficiently. The walk was extended and widened, using many cuts to the pavers. Looks great. They repointed the front stones, repaired cracked concrete on the front steps and even replanted landscaping, which was not in the contract. Super job. Two people on the block saw his work and immediately hired him. You can't go wrong using Rolling Stone Masonry.
