    Stafford Electronics
I had another company come first and they said the TV was un-repairable.  I had second thoughts. I called Stafford Electronics.  They charged me a $75 fee to come; they looked at it, they said a part was not working and they ordered the part.   They came and disassembled the TV and then they said oh, this is not a part that is missing.  They just adjusted something that was loose and then poof, the TV is working since then.  So that told me a lot.  Between the two TV repair companies, one guy just told me that this is ir-repairable, they don't make the part; and the other guy came and fixed it just by moving and adjusting stuff.  And when he realized the part that he ordered for me, he realized that that wasn't the issue, it wasn't like he just said okay, you need this part.  He told me oh, I'm not gonna make you pay for this part because your sensor is good; let me see what else is wrong. So he just fiddled around with things, said this is loose, pushed in what was loose, and the TV has been fine ever since. The only issue I had was the labor cost, which I think it's a little bit too much just for pushing in something.  Initially they misdiagnosed the part, and then when they realized the part wasn't an issue, they didn't charge me for it.  To improve their service, lower the price.

    You've Got Mail
It was time for a new mailbox and I went with this company after reading all the A+ reviews on here. I placed the order online and used the discount coupon from Angie's List. Diane called me back right away to confirm the order, she is super nice and was great in keeping me updated every step of the way from the shipping to installation date. You've Got Mail makes it very easy in that you can order the mailbox directly through them, and have the new one delivered by installer. On the day of installation, the installer arrived right on time, and the entire process was just about 90 min from removing the old mailbox to installing the new one. I made the decision to move my mailbox location to the other side of my driveway so that it would be easier coming home and getting the mail without getting out of my car. The installer followed my wishes without any complaints. At the end of the install he used a level against all the sides of the mailbox to make sure everything was straight and perfect. I have already received many compliments from neighbors and friends on the new one. So happy! I would not hesitate in recommending this company to friends and family.

You rent their instruments for the school year. If you do not rent from them for the following year you are hit you, or for better words2c SMACKED with late fees of $3 a day School ends on June 25. Your child has no idea if they are going to return to that school or even continue to play. My child's concert was on June 19 with a summer concert sponsored by the school on July 7. The cost for the school year rental is $98 a year, regardless if you rent in June or September. Today is July 19. They are charging me $57 in late fee if my child does not continue to play the instrument. i have been a customer with this instrument for THREE years and have not once got a call to tune, do a yearly inspection or even clean the instrument BUT they are fast to call you and charge you HALF of the entire year rental for being 19 days late. They are not open on Sundays and charging me for those day too. Do not rent from them. They obliviously do not care about the customer or their service of rentals. They did not care that there was a rented trumpet out there for three years with no tune up, cleaning, etc. they keep going like this, people are going to catch on and loss a lot do customers. Now, I am forced to pay $57 and if my child wants to rent again in September, I must pay $98. What a rip off. I will have no other choice but to look into renting from a corporate store who is not going to charge me late fees for 19 days if my child does not return. It is sad to say that I hope my child sings only in chorus to avoid the rental charge and places like this. And people wonder why the music departments are being downsized on Long Island. As a parent who always supported the arts, It makes you think it can be discouraging by such a small petty thing.

They are not that great; they need work. Their communication is very poor with the customers when there are outages. The service is okay. Many times, the screen picks 10:05.4 and they have trouble maintaining their lines. I don't think that they do enough maintenance on their lines. I would use them again in the future; I have no choice. If I had someone else in my neighborhood I would probably not use them. They are the only provider in the area.

THE DANCE PLACE Plus Performing Arts
This will be our last year here. We joined TDP NB 2 yrs ago because our first dance school closed. It seemed like a good choice considering it had two locations and was expanding into a third. The Good: They hold an annual "The Nutcracker" recital which is cute for the Holidays. Also, the online registration and payment system is very cool. The Bad: Although everything is planned/scheduled, the information provided to parents is disorganized. Information is given via flyers, the receptionist and email. Often, they contradict each other or are changes that are not specified as such. Worst of all, specific events (photos, recital practice and tickets) are scheduled so inconveniently that working parents have to leave work early to get there on time. Lastly, the Bellmore location is the bigger of the two schools (which helps in the winter), but is littered with competition trophies (multiples of the same ones) that keep falling. Hicksville receptionist is nicer and more approachable.

I have a wrought iron chair that needs to be repaired. Since I knew the area around his business very well I decided to take the chair to him for an estimate. I informed him that I found him on Angie's List, but he denied that he was on the list and any affiliation with Angie's List. He gave me an estimate of $400 for one chair (the entire dining set cost $400). He was very unprofessional. I would not recommend him.

I called Nick because our Sony Wega 42and quot; LCD TV had stopped work yesterday and I was wondering if it was worth fixing. I described the problem to him and he said he would check with his rep at Sony and call me back. He did so very quickly about 15mins later and said he could probably fix it and if we wanted to he would only charge me $25 to evaluate it and total repair would probably be no more than $200. He also suggested I call Sony as he believed there might be a recall on my unit and he had heard that they were giving out vouchers toward the purchase of a new TV. This was not something he had to do but he was just trying to help me out and I very much appreciated that. As it turned out I called Sony and because they said it was a possible safety issue they offer to send someone out free of charge to inspect and fix the unit as needed.

    Mineola Awnings and Signs
They came to my location to provide to do a survey of the location so that they could provide artwork and show me exactly how the new signs will look on my building. Once I approved all artwork they started fabrication and installed the sign in a timely matter. Throughout the process they gave me time lines of each step and kept me posted all the way through. Very professional and courteous.

He took his time to go over and disassemble the parts.  It wasn't a rush job.

Burke Electronics TV Installations & Repairs
He said it could not be fixed and took $175 anyway. Another TV repair man fixed it at a lower cost.
