    WANTAGH ANIMAL HOSPITAL
I purchased a pet at a local pet store. The Pet store recommended that I have my pet examined at this facility because I will receive certain services without charge. I was told that this facility will examine my newly purchased dog for free. I was also told that a certain required injection will be given in two sessions. The first injection will be free and the booster will be charged to owner. I was willing to accept that charge for the booster and was expecting that if there were any other actions needed beyond the injection, I will be advised and informed of any additional charges in advance. Since the exam revealed a parasite in the pet's stool, which I am told is quite common, I was instructed to administer an antibiotic to my pet for 14 days (no charge) and return to the Vet with another stool sample for clearance. Upon completion of the follow-up visit, I was handed an invoice. I was not told previously that the follow-up visit to the Vet will generate an "office visit charge" of 69.36 and a "screening charge" of 52.65, the total being 122.01. I registered my concern about the additional charges which I had paid and was told to ask the Pet Store to reimburse if that is my concern. I was told that the owner of the hospital will not refund my payment for the additional services they provided even though I claimed that I did not anticipate these charges for the services nor did I give my approval. I was also told by the pet store that they will not reimburse me for these Vet charges because a parasite in a newly purchased pet is common and not considered an illness that is covered under their purchase contract. In summary, I believe that under any circumstance other than maybe an emergency, a treatment facility for pets must give the pet owner an opportunity to know the cost of treatment options before providing same to the pet. By not being as vocal and transparent as reasonably possible, they create an atmosphere of distrust and unmet expectations for the pet owner.

The racoon mother retrieved 4 of her babies, but 2 were left. They responded quickly the next day and contacted a rescue group who came immediately and retrieved the final 2 babies. Everyone was extremely pleasant to work with. We were very satisfied.

We were very pleased. Unfortunately, our pets are no longer with us. I think they are keeping the same name. The cost would have been different for every visit. I would use them again if we ever get another pet.

The receptionist was very pleasant, but I had to wait about 25 minutes to go into the patient room when there was no customer or animal ahead of me. The female veterinarian was not personable or pleasant. I did not feel that the exam was very thorough.

I've been using them for about four years, since my dog was born. I'm happy with the doctors. They're familiar with him. You want to stay with somebody that knows the dog's issues. I don't have any issues with them. The staff is nice. They remember my dog's name and they recognize him. I like that they're familiar with him and he's not just a number.

RUFF'S MANOR Dog Grooming Solon & Supplies
Debbie is a highly knowledgeable and professional dog groomer.  It is quite obvious that she really cares about the dogs she works with and extends an abundance of effort to make the grooming a pleasant experience.  She listens to the owners' requests and is also well able to make excellent suggestions as to which haircuts would be beneficial for specific breeds.  During the haircut she works systematically using a wide variety of tools.  Although my dog can give her a difficult time, Debbie is always very patient, utilizing a great deal of positive reinforcement and giving her breaks to relax before continuing.  Debbie is a very friendly, pleasant person who I enjoy talking to during the grooming.  It is exciting to listen to her experiences about breeding and showing dogs and to talk to her about her diverse interests.  A  master groomer, she is currently sharing her expertise by teaching a dog grooming course.  An added benefit is that one of Debbie's or her mother's westies may be visiting the shop at the time. It is obvious that they love their dogs very much and you can be confident that Debbie (and her mother who is also a fantastic groomer at the shop) will treat your dog as well as they treat their own.  I often get stopped during my daily dog walks by people who remark how beautiful my dog looks!

My dog suddenly sustained a back injury and couldn't walk. They agreed to examine the dog that morning, on short notice. Dr. Lopez examined the dog, had a technician take x-rays, and after seeing the films, explained the problem as most likely being a pinched nerve, in a spine that already had arthritis. Dr. Lopez explained the options: back surgery performed by a specialist, treatment with steroids to reduce the inflammation, or euthanasia. I opted for the steroid treatment after Dr. Lopez offered to perform the initial treatment at the hospital to see if it helped. Two days later, the dog was walking again. Dr. Lopez permitted members of the family to visit the dog in the evening. The dog was already blind from an auto immune disease and suffering from Cushing's disease. Although the dog was already suffering from too much cortisol, and didn't need more steroids, injecting cortisone directly to the site of the pinched nerve enabled the dog to walk again. The dog was too old for surgery, and I wanted to see if the dog would respond to treatment before opting for euthanasia. Dr. Lopez was available during the day to listen to follow up reports regarding the dog's recovery at home and to give additional instructions on reducing the dosage of medication the dog was being given. The treatment bought the dog more time before he finally succumbed to the growing tumor on the pituitary gland. I'd like the add that the kennels/cages were kept clean; the animals being boarded were kept clean; the animals always had fresh water available and were fed. Bedding in the cages was clean. The Veterinarians at this hospital were the dog's regular physicians.

    LYNDHURST ANIMAL HOSPITAL INC
The quality of care there is superb. Dr. Richie Jacobson and Dr. Sawe are what I would call phenomenal. Now, I have not really shopped around to compare pricing but I feel I am being charged fine for my dog and my cat to be seen there. They are experts at what they do and I would highly recommend them. They are a great vet practice.

They are not inexpensive. They are reliable and the doctors are good. They give you time, do not rush you out. I have 3 dogs and they all go there.
