    I was very initially very happy with Gates Automotive (Henrietta location) right up until the point when I picked up the car. The primary reason the car was in their shop was to repair some door damage which was covered by insurance. I also asked them to estimate some unrelated front-end damage which I would pay for out-of-pocket. They called me with the estimate for the front end damage and the next day I gave them to go-ahead to repair it. When I picked up the car, the front-end damage still wasn't fixed! I wasn't about to leave the car there again because of the logistics involved in getting another rental, etc. So now I'm still driving a car with front end damage. Of course, since I didn't write down the name of the person I spoke with, all the staff could do was apologize. I am not sure what having a name would have solved anyway. I suppose they would have had him apologize to me next. Big deal. No complaints about the mechanical work I also had done. I am not sure how their prices compare, so I couldn't ***** whether it was a good value.

    Well Sears had performed diagnostics and gave me an estimate of over $1700.   With tax and the brake line, not included in the original estimate or $1150, the cost was still under $1350.
    I have been a customer of Howard Road Garage for over 10 years.   After i moved a few years back, i had stopped going due to distance, but always regretted going to other garages.
    Howard Road Garage is a family run business.  They run it with integrity, and they haven't forgotten that there business is part of the community and they succeed when the community succeeds.  You aren't going to find that at other garages.
    I have always felt that I was treated like family going there, and they have always been fair in their prices.
    I have always recommended this garage to everyone I know, and I will always continue to do so.

    I have dealt with Ziebart since 2010 when I bought my truck.  I have had many services performed including rhino liner and detailing services, in addition to above.  I have dealt with multiple service pros, never the same one twice.
    Pros:  The services they perform are done well, I have never felt the quality lacked.
    - Price, they have a very high mark up.  ie: the detailing services are good, but for half the price I have had just as good (better if you take into account the lack of high pressure sales tactics) from Delta Sonic.
    -High Pressure Sales:  The service pros are all encouraged to up sell and add services (they make commission).  I have never entered there without getting a pitch for something or reason i should do something.  And saying you can't afford it or will wait doesn't help, that just opens the door for them to tell you about financing. 
    All their customer service reps/salesmen are all trained in a way that makes them seem sleazy like a used car salesman.  The up-selling doesn't help the image.
    I have to take my truck in yearly to have the warranty services performed (without losing my warranty), and I dread it each time.  I do not like having to fight off a salesman.  
    I have never left feeling like the company cares about the customers, just the bottom line.  I usually am more concerned not to get ripped off.  You can see this just in the way they lower prices when you refuse services, hence the inflated margins.
    I would not recommend them to anyone unless they cannot get the service done elsewhere.  I will never take a new car there again.  Unfortunately my relationship with them will not end until I decide to sell my truck, otherwise all the effort I put into keeping the warranty valid on my truck will be for nothing.

    Mavis Discount Tire
    We took our van in for service due to suspension and braking concerns.
    Mavis/Cole recommended replacement of shocks, struts, and brakes, which we agreed was necessary.
    The initial service work was completed on the same day and all seemed fine.
    However, about one week later we noticed braking was more difficult than expected (soft pedal) and we took the vehicle in to have things checked out.  Mavis/Cole advised that a brake line was leaking (which we understand is not unusual for the age of our vehicle) and they repaired it for a minimal charge (included in total above).
    The next day we noticed a rubbing/scraping noise coming from the driver's side rear tire area.  We again took the vehicle to Mavis/Cole and they found that rust had gotten on the brake pad, evidently from lack of attention/poor cleaning at initial service or when the brake line was repaired.  Mavis/Cole cleaned/checked all brakes at no charge.
    About one week later the brakes went out while driving (very scary).  We found brake fluid leaking in rear driver's side tire area (where the brake line had been replaced earlier).  On closer observation it was obvious that too much brake line had been used, which was also improperly secured.  The brake line had been rubbing against the tire and broke off.
    The vehicle was unsafe to drive and had to be towed (Mavis/Cole did reimburse) to Mavis/Cole for service.
    Mavis/Cole confirmed the poor brake line work on their part and repaired, advising that their most experienced service technicians would check everything out to make sure there were no other problems.
    I have used Mavis/Cole in the past for exhaust and suspension work and been satisfied with the quality and cost of their work.
    However, after this latest experience I have lost confidence in the Mavis/Cole to service our vehicles in the future.

    They were very reasonable. The reason I go with this dealer is that there is no running back and forth to the sales manager. They have their table set there and they have the finance guy and they come out and they give you the price, they show you the list, they show you their list and it's $300 over their invoice, that's what the car cost, period. No messing across and bottom-lines. They will take care of any problems. No matter what, they'll take care of problems. For example, I got an 2011 Mustang that was giving a little roadrash along the bottom of the Mustang, so they tried to get Ford to repaint the bottom, Ford denied it, Van Bortel service and sales got together and they paid to have it painted. And I've got this diamond gloss coat that you never have to wax and they're paying to have that redone too. That's why we stay with them. I am sure with the amount of business that we give them, they go the extra mile for us too. When I hurt my shoulder, I wanted to buy something else, they gave me the best price over the phone, they brought the new vehicle to me, switched plates and took my old one. I had trouble with my brakes on my truck one time and they sent somebody here with a flatbed and took it away and brought me a rental. We know everybody out there. In fact, the salesman, we became friends, he brings his wife and kids over and go in the pool with us. There is no messing around with their dealership at all, they don't try and scam you. They're giving you the bottom price. I think the feeling is, if you can get it cheaper somewhere else, go ahead, because they'll be going out of business. I think there's one car left from my whole family that isn't from there. They just are the best.

    Had used this shop in the past several times and last April spent $1400 to repair my wife's 2001 Chevy Malibu.  This time my Acura needed an alignment, tire rotation, and oil change.  The oil change was done, tires were rotated, and the source of the front end vibration was discovered.  However, the service person tried to get me to agree to pay $100 to rebalance all 4 tires as a means for diagnosing the front end vibration.  That was the first red flag.  Next, he told me that the ALIGNMENT would cost $110, which is complete garbage because I had the car aligned at the same shop a few months ago and they only charged me $75.  He tried the "4 wheel alignment" lie to justify the cost.  Simply put, despite my clear loyalty to this shop the service guy tried to rip me off for everything he could and I will never go back.  When we spent $1400 on my wife's Malibu last April we were very poor and had trouble affording food, so we maxed out our credit card following their advice on what it needed to pass inspection.  Now I look back and wonder if it even needed anywhere near that much work and it makes me very angry that they take advantage of people and have no problems stealing from customers who have all work done at their shop.
