  • We were fortunate that Brian Doehler Appliance Service had an immediate opening in their schedule, so the service rep was at our house within 20 minutes of the call. He promptly diagnosed the problem, including a demonstration of how the door could be open a crack without activating the door alarm. Since no mechanical work was required, he offer us the opportunity to clean the frost ourselves to save on the cost of the visit. We opted to have him do the work in case there were further problems.
    The service rep helped me load the freezer contents into coolers. He also recommended we have some old towels handy to catch run off from defrosting.
    Once the frost build up was removed, the service rep tested the fan operation and air flow before putting back all the covers and drawers. He advised us on the expected time to recover the proper cooling temperatures. He took care to mop up all the water run off. The service rep worked efficiently and the work was completed in about 1.5 hours.
    Throughout the visit, the service rep was courteous, informative and conscientious about avoiding a mess.
    At first, I was going to rate the price as "good" because $100 for 1.5 hours seem steep. However, I changed it to "excellent" because we got immediate response when time was critical. I think we will lose very little from the freezer (and nothing from the refrigerator), so that increases the value of the rapid response. The service rep also gave us the option to reduce the cost and it was our choice to have him invest the extra time.

  • the tech was the best!  Given my dryer is over 30 years old, he was still familiar with the nuiances of the "old" technology :)  Everything was done quickly, thoroughly so hope it is good to go for another 30 :)
    Difinitely on my list of go to people when I have a need.

  • I called on Tuesday and spoke to Brian about my dishwasher not working.He said he was very busy and asked if the next day would be ok,I said fine.Mike,the tech,called and said he could come over around noon,and was that ok,I saidfine and Mike was ther in a half hour.Mike was very polite and profesional.After doing some diagnostic work,Mike said it was the touch pad that was bad.He gave me a price and said,"I know,that's a little pricey"He then said the call was mine,but offered that the dishwasher was not very old,and was a top of the line model,Armed with that info,I told Mike to get the part.Mike said he could get it by the next day,I said great.On Wednesday Mike said he had the part but was not happy that it looked like it had been open and he did not want to use it in my repair.I told him thankx for looking out for me and the next day would be fine oe even after the holiday.Mie called on Thursday morning and said he had a brand new unopened part and came over very quickly.He was done in less than 30 minutes.Great job.Mike ! My whole experience was great.Professional in every sense of the word.

  • We called Lockwood Appliances and they gave us a time estimate of when they would arrive on the day of our appointment. Someone came one day for the estimate. We had to wait for a part, which they said could take up to a week, but it came in much sooner than expected. The servicer let us know what had caused the problem (there was an old recall on our oven which we didn't know of since we had just got it after buying our house, since it was out of warranty, they couldn't fix it for free).

  • So in my case I paid a service visit fee to learn it may be better to replace the washer. Apparently maytag let their name be put on the atlantis washer model and the design was a poor one. I don't keep up on who manufactures products under others name. As i had search for information myself, it seemed plausible. As the washer was part of the house purchase I didn't know the true age. So i decided not to repair because of the poor design concern. While I did not get a repair ,I would try protech in the future.

  • I discovered the problem Friday morning. Called Mr. Appliance after reviewing the comments on Angies List. The lady I spoke to said they could send someone on Saturday afternoon. I wasn't going to be home then so we made an appointment for Monday at 1:00 p.m. She said that there was a service charge of $60.00 which would be credited to the bill if they did the repair. I got a phone call from Matt, the serviceman at 12:30 saying he was on his way over. He was very professional and explained the problem to me. He ended up replacing the ignitor on my stove. The total time it took to perform the service was one hour. I mentioned that I got their name from Angies List which entitled me to a discount on the work performed. The total cost came to $195.00 which I thought was a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to use them again.
