    Sir Grout Westchester
Called/emailed Tim @ Sir Grout Westchester via Angie's List contact info and received return call within 24hrs. Scheduled inspection app't within same week of return call. Met Tim (Sir Grout Westchester) at premises and asked if grout on 3.25 walls of a 7' X 4'9" garden apartment bathroom should either be cleaned, re-colored or completely removed altogether and replaced with new. Tim expressed that the job would be labor intensive, while additionally stating that the grout removal would be a delicate process that risked chipping the edges of the existing 4"X4" tile, then offered an on the spot verbal quote at $2,000. Tim, seriously... at maximum... from the floor base to maybe a 40" max height with not even a fully covered 3 wall area above/around the sink/toilet, along with 3/4 tub top base to ceiling high area (around the tub) for $2K!?! But wait, this guy Tim right there during inspection then retracts his offer completely and says this isn't the type of job for him. Tim of Sir Grout Westchester... just WHAT IS the type of for you? One of this type so small, yet you quote an exorbitant amount that would equate to a complete remodel, then recant altogether? You should be in the septic business instead 'cause you're certainly full of something not professionally applicable to grout maintenance and/or repair.

Customers beware! Chose Jeff based on all the positive reviews, but had horrible experience; wasted $14,000.00 . Kitchen needs to be totally redone about 2 1/2 yrs later. Cabinets and drawer fronts are warping and peeling. The most severe peeling is adjacent to my oven and kettle. Apparently you aren't supposed to use these laminates adjacent to a heat source and/or steam or the adhesive will melt and laminate will peel. But even the cabinets and drawers away from any heat source or steam are peeling and/or warping. In addition to the sub-par materials, customer service was awful. He was unresponsive to multiple requests to address the problems; started contacting him about the problems a little over a year after the installation. He often would not respond to emails/texts/phone calls, and sometimes I had to wait up to 6 wks for a response. Ultimately, he said he wouldn't/couldn't help me address the problem because his "installation was guaranteed for one year, there was no problem with the installation, and that well over a year had passed." He told me I needed to contact the cabinet manufacturer to address any problems that I had. Not germane to this review, but the manufacturer is willing to "help", but i'll have to dish out another $3,000.00 or so since I can't readily prove that there was a "manufacturing defect" with the fronts. I would have to hire another contractor to install the new fronts since Jeff won't take responsibility or stand behind the products he sold me.

Victor completely renovated two bathrooms for me. The work is beautiful and was done quickly. Victor is easy to work with. As I came up with new ideas throughout the project, Victor happily changed course however I wanted. He also had great ideas that really improved the outcome. He took care of permits, sub-contractors, and inspections. I would definitely work with him again.

    Artizon Construction LLC
If you are looking for a contractor with a high level of integrity, you have found it in Will Lazo. We hired Wil after an unexpected malfunction required total renovation of a bathroom in our home.  We chose Artizon not only for the competitive bid Wil provided, but also because of his willingness to accommodate us on a reasonable but inflexible completion date.
We are so happy with our decision. It was a challenging project. Wil delivered on time (even though unforeseen setbacks required some late nights); and the work is top quality. Wil answers his phone, he follows up, he shows up when he says he will, he cleans up after himself.  You don't see that every day.
The company's initial estimate is a "base case". Complications and extras will cost more. Overall, we paid a reasonable price for some excellent work.
We will have Wil back for future projects.

Jeff and his team did an excellent job. They arrived on time, did a professional job and cleaned up after themselves. They did such a good job that we've hired them to install wall cabinets. After telling Jeff the price I was quoted by a home improvement center, he promptly made a call and is getting us the cabinets for $600.00 less and we will be getting them 2 weeks earlier then the store could get them to us. I highly recommend him!

    Westchester Bathtub Re-Glazing & Refinishing
This is our second time using Westchester Refinishing, Tony Aversa was fantastic.  He contacted our tenants and set up a time that worked for our tenants.  Just as the last time he showed up on time, finished on time and the cost was exactly what he quoted.  The tenants both informed me that he was very professional, used  caution and care while working inside the apartment and when he left the bathroom was cleaned and there was no indication that he was there other than having a beautiful reglaze bathtub.  Thanks again Tony

    Westchester Bathtub Re-Glazing & Refinishing
We purchased our first house on December 16, 2012, we had received several quotes to remodel our bathrooms that range from $8000- $9500 EACH. Which was completely out of our budget range! We have never had this type of work estimated for us before and we were shocked when we realized how much it would cost, so I bathroom projects were put on hold for the time being. We went to a local home show at the county center in White Plains in the spring of 2013. While there we happened upon a booth set up by Westchester Reglazing Services. They were also nice, there was a video of Antonio performing reglazing process from start to finish(a very amazing process! We have never heard of reglazing). They provided us with additional literature about the reglazing process and also the other services they provided. We were happy to learn that they were a local family owned and operated company that was fully licensed and insured, and has been in business for over 45 years since 1965. We spoke to Sharon(Antonio's wife) a little more in detail about the process and also the cost. She was very knowledgeable about the reglazing process and was able to give us a quote on all three of our bathrooms right there on the spot.
We opted for the Full Bathroom Makeover Package which included, removal of our existing toilet, vanity and sink. They would then it reglaze the bathtub, wall tiles and will fixtures. They would then install our new toilet, sink and vanity (provided by us) for $1195.  Obviously we were very excited about the cost and we scheduled for them to reglaze  just our master bathroom first to see if we would be happy with the results.
Antonio arrived promptly on the date and time that we had scheduled for, I was very impressed when he removed his shoes
before entering our house, and then protected the floors and hallway before he brought in his equipment. We went over the work he was to do in the bathroom. He performed all the work that was contracted for professionally and he finished on time as promised in one day.
What I respected most about Antonio is the fact that there were a few damaged tiles and grout problems that neither my husband or I had realized earlier, Antonio informed me about the problems as they arose and also correct them for us. But, what I really respected about him is that when the job was complete the invoice amount was still $1195, he had included the repairs for us at no charge.
When I asked him why the repairs were not on the invoice, he said"it was happy to provide the repair service for us and no charge, he would rather leave our home knowing that we were happy and satisfied with the work his family's company has provided to us rather than making an extra couple of dollars and leaving us with a bad taste in our mouth" he finished by saying his family's reputation and the quality of the work is worth more than a few extra dollars.
Needless to say we were very happy and satisfied that we hired Westchester Reglazing and we promptly scheduled to complete the remaining two bathrooms in our home. All three bathrooms turned out great,
We have referred Westchester Reglazing to all our friends and family,
Thank you again Antonio, for the great work!

    My Home Service
We too love My Home Service.  Having worked with Mat before, we didn't competitively bid the job -- we knew who we wanted to work with.  Mat gave us a complete and fairly priced estimate.  Mat is a little more expensive, but it is worth the freedom that comes from knowing that the work will be done right and that everything will be clean and safe at the end of every day.
Mat and Milton are perfectionists.  Case in point...the marble floor tiles arrived chipped.  Mat went through every box, isolated all the chipped tiles, brought them to the tile store.  Worked through all the boxes of tile they had at the store to obtain the number of perfect tiles we needed.  The ceramic, marble and glass tile shower enclosure was executed flawlessly.
Mat is also good at talking the customer off the ledge.  When those marble tiles were installed over several days, we noticed drastic differences in color.  We were afraid the new tiles had come from a different lot.  Pulling them up would have required destroying the radiant heat mat.  Milton was convinced that it was just the absorption of water that made the tiles look so different.  Mat and Milton demonstrated how that was the case and we all relaxed.
Our city building codes are onerous and basically force a contractor to use subcontractors to do plumbing and electrical.  Mat's subs were first rate.  More importantly, Mat made sure that their work was done to his (and our) satisfaction.
We also rely on Mat for his advice.  He has an eye for how things should go and is ready to express his opinion. We have been delighted at how he formulates choices for us to make from appropriate and available options.  Sometimes those decisions carry costs and these are discussed up front so that they can be part of the decision making process.  While renovation always involves drama outside the control of the contractor, working with Mat makes the process as close as you can get to "no surprises".

    My Home Service
We didn't know who to ask for help when our tiled bathroom stall sprung a mysterious leak. Do we call a plumber? A carpenter? A tile guy? A mover? So we called My Home Service, a home remodeling company that does it all, and we were glad that we did. From the first time he visited us through the end of the job, we knew were in good hands with Mat. His good humor, years of experience, high quality standards, and excellent taste helped us through an emergency re-model, replacing a seriously damaged shower with something much better.
The situation was one of those homeowner nightmares: We didn't really know what was wrong, but we did know that tile was not supposed actually sag down the wall...so we hired Mat for two days just to investigate. What he discovered is that a previous fix to the shower had allowed water to seep in behind all of the walls...the whole thing had to replaced. His joking conclusion (in early December) was that he'd be able to finish "by Easter," but he was actually he was able to do a complete renovation in less than a month. There were so many jobs that had to be done: carpentry, framing, tiling, light plumbing, painting, wiring...and Mat and his two excellent helpers did them all. Mat even made it fun by going with me to the plumbing supply and tile store to get the fixtures and tile that were both cost-effective and great looking. I learned that in addition to knowing his trades, Mat has a great sense of design and understood what would work with my own somewhat quirky taste and decor. During the three-plus weeks they were with us, the guys arrived promptly every day and started by laying down protective drop cloths. At the end of each day, they cleaned up so that we were able to live somewhat normally during the work. When the work was done, we had the custom shower that we'd really wanted all along. Although we spent much more than originally planned, the quality of the work will certainly add value to the house. Communication was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend My Home Service.
