    Emerald City Window Cleaning
They were wonderful. They cleaned all of my windows inside and out, fixed screens, and were very reasonably priced. I even told my father about them and he hire them too. They just did an exceptional job. I kept their name and phone number to hire them again!

    Albert's Home Product Repair
I have been going to him all the time. He was pleasant and efficient. He was priced better than the other service providers that I had contacted. He did a good job. He was a little old guy with his own business. At first, he was the only one that I had contact with. I liked that as there would be only one person to contact and it would be more personable.

.Magic and Diane were excellent!  The work was done efficiently and they took extra time to make sure items met their standards.  They explained what was going to be done offered their advice when there were questions.  It feels great to have these items completed.   I would definitely use them again!

3rd Generation Painting & Home Improvements
He was willing to come on a Sunday as well as other days. He took our suggestions and explained why some thing we wanted done, needed to be done differently. He was neat when he worked and cleaned up when he was done. He didn't mind doing a hodgepodge of chores.$35.00 hr.

I hired Chris over the phone to do some repair work while we were out of town. We never saw him and paid him before we returned home. Work was well done - no complaints at all. Very easy to work with. Seems very trustworthy.

    Auto Glass Experts Inc
He is a nice person and they are a small company.  They are courteous and do dependable work.  I have used them several times.  He fixed the rubber that goes around my windshield and he did not charge me for it.  He was very reasonable on the screens and he did a good job.  The lobby area is small and clean. Everyone is friendly.  You can make an appointment or he will come to your house.  You do have to take your screens to them.

Ben's response to request for estimate was quick and detailed. Started work almost immediately, was always there when he said he would be. Very professional and considerate throughout. Many changes were made but he consulted with me constantly, made many wonderful suggestions, gave me many options, shopped around for good prices for me. The end result was I spent more money than I had originally intended, but it needed to be done and it's beautiful and I'm very very pleased with it. I've had many compliments on it from men who are in this kind of business. There were no "surprise" costs, as he kept me very informed, always with choices. He was very knowledgeable, honest, trustworthy, a pleasure to have around. His work is REALLY beautiful! Also very clean and neat, and quite a perfectionist! I thought he worked fast, and hard, and got alot accomplished every day he was here. I can't wait to hire him for my next job. I think he is a rare find. For me, I am a woman who lives alone and owns her own home, and I need lots of help! He did a few extra things for me, at my request, and was very nice about it. (He even did a few things I didn't ask him to). He was very helpful and looked at a few other things and advised me on some other possible projects and what I might or should do/not do. Great guy, great work, great work ethic.

The subcontractor said they completed the work in June and told my father they just ran out of cement and would finish cementing around the last window next week when they had more cement. They then asked for the final payment from a trusting elderly man without actually finishing the work.  In October father asked me to see that the contracted work gets properly finished. On examination of the window in question I felt a cold draft coming in under the window where the frame is supposed to be cemented to the basement wall. There is a one half to one inch crack along the entire bottom of the window frame from the inside.  From the outside there is an approximately two inch hole leading into the cinder block wall where water can enter and cause damage to the foundation and framing. I have been in weekly contact with the secretary at Barrier Window's phone number for a month now. First she told me I had to talk directly to Barrier's service manager to get this resolved. After leaving my phone number for the manager for 2 weeks on their company's voice mail with no result I began calling more frequently. Then finally the secretary gave me the subcontractor' s phone number. After several calls with no answer from the subcontractor I then called the secretary one more time. After I reminded the secretary that my elderly parents need to heat their home this winter and the window in question leaks air worse than the window they replaced she continued to attempt to put me off. Finally I reminded the secretary that Barrier Window is legally responsible for this contract and my only legal recourse is to take Barrier Window to court. Even after this the best she could tell me is that Barrier Window will have a service manager in Syracuse a week from today who can look at the window and make some decision on what they will do next. My conclusion from this experience is that Barrier Window has expanded beyond their ability to manage business in Syracuse effectively. They are overpriced, The subcontractor involved is irresponsible, installation is substandard and the secretary is paid to delay rather than resolve complaints. A copy of this evaluation is being reserved and will be submitted to small claims court along with the contract,  pictures, a statement from my father and dates of calls made if this matter is not resolved by the end of November.
