    University Maryland Neurology
Appt went very well.... Doctor reviewed all lab and MRI tests in detail, and did thorough diagnostic on how I was doing in recent months since my last visit. Also performed in-office neurological exam in the office. Doctor modified some of the medicines I was using and prescribed P.T. The neurologist spent a good 30-45 minutes with me

My former neurologist worked out of his home and he was crazy (in a great way!) and the most amazing man ever, but he retired and I had to find a new place so I came here. They listen to what you are saying and take into consideration what you think needs to be changed with your medication, if anything. during my checkups we have to make sure the medication is still working and the seizures are still controlled, and they conduct little tests. I didn't even know what he was doing until I started asking questions and then I realized he had been testing me in different areas for balance, feeling, etc. The only negative thing is I don't feel like it's on a person level as it was with my former neurologist where he knew every detail of your life and made sure to ask about it when you came back to him in 6 months because it made you feel like you were just going to visit a family member. But, I would say for people to go to Upstate because the staff is friendly, the doctors really do listen and they aren't in a hurry when they are with you which is extremely important because some places like to rush you out of the office as quickly as possible.

    St Joseph's Hospital Health Center
This is the first therapist I have gone to that I've had a truly good experience with. I have tried multiple (6 or 7) places in the past but was never satisfied with the treatment I received. I think my issue was too severe to be handled by just any general counseling office. St. Joseph's provides thorough, all-emcompassing treatment for mental health issues that are a bit more complicated than anxiety or depression. (Although I'm sure you can be treated here for either of those, too.) This is exactly what it claims to be - an outpatient mental health clinic. They provide attentive and thorough treatment that is only one step down from an intensive inpatient program. All of my mental health needs are fulfilled by this one location - I see a therapist (LCSW) every week, a psychiatrist once a month for medication management, as well as group therapy sessions each week as part of the treatment program for BPD. It's extremely convenient that this location is prepared to offer all of these services in one place. They regularly deal with BPD patients and are very well-versed on the most successful treatment plan. I can be confident that I'm receiving exactly the treatment that I need, from competent people, and am on the road to recovery. They aren't just treating the symptoms, as therapists in my past have tried to do, but are addressing the true cause - the underlying personality disorder. Also everyone in the office is very friendly, especially Suzanne - the receptionist on the Mezzanine level :) She is always cheerful and greets me by name.

    Robert Todd MD
Although the procedure is somewhat unpleasant as it entails getting multiple injections of Botox in the neck, Dr. Todd's office is a good place to get them done if you need the procedure. I've only met Dr. Todd once and he was serious and honest, listening to all my concerns about getting the procedure done.He helped me weigh the positives and negatives. Normally the injections are done by Kelly who works with him in his office. She is very matter of fact and interested in my condition at each appointment. The injections are done with the help of a computer that monitors the tenseness of the muscles being injected which is recommended before getting Botox injections of this type. I haven't experienced any ill effects from the procedure and it has helped my condition somewhat. The office staff is very friendly and personable. The office itself is small, has limited hours and a wait longer then ten minutes has been unusual for me.

He has a really good bedside manner. He is straightforward. He talks on my level and doesn't use medical stuffs which I don't understand. I had a lot of extra paper work stuff as I had a cap replaced. He always got that done. He was more than helpful. It's a really cooperative and friendly office. They actually get back to me and talk to me. They are on time. The staff is really friendly. They follow through and they are timely. I have gone there on a short notice and they got me in. It's a clean office. I have no complains. I would use him in the future.

    Scaturo, Janis l.
My daughter continues to see her, and we're delighted to have Janis as another support for our daughter. About a month ago, I contacted Janis to explain a challenging situation with my daughter and received outstanding--and free--counsel in the process. Janis has 38+ years experience as a CSW and is just so wise in a common-sense kind of way. An added benefit is that it's very easy to schedule with her, unlike the counselor for our other daughter. Sadly (and understandably) Janis won't work with siblings. It's too confusing to keep things straight with different family members. Highly, highly recommended!

Great. She was very kind, and knowledgeable about drugs. She treated me with respect, and did her best to provide excellent care, which she did.Although she wasn't exactly on time, I did not feel shortchanged since she made it up. She is very friendly, and people-oriented. I never felt that she was just interested in the drugs that I was on, but how the drugs were working.
