House Painting reviews in Wappingers Falls

    Paint Life Inc
Rich and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. I had powerwashing and a deck refinish done and the quality of the work was fantastic. He was able to fit me in and get it done quickly as I was in a time crunch. I will certainly have them do work for me in the future.

We have used Paint Life several times. Our living room and bedroom. We also had them paint a rental after tenants moved out, to freshen it up for new tenants. Most recently installing new molding and painting a bathroom. Excellent and will hire them in the future, specifically staining a new deck.

Total no! Total headache. You should not expect a good experience. The owner lies his way through the whole experience, including adding money to the price and subtracting expectations. I caught him in so many lies it made my head spin, especially the price of the paint - which I could google.... It's as if I didn't know what the internet was. I "paid" 800 bucks for full power washing of the house - the guys were here for 1 hour and 10 minutes and really didn't clean the house before they painted. It was a joke from beginning to end, and in my honest opinion Rich, the owner, can not be trusted. It's creepy when the owner tells you he does 2 background checks on his workers to try to sell his business. I trusted everyone on the job but Bardy, the owner, and the guy who apparently doesn't trust his own employees. Btw, his employees are great people. I hired this company over others from their good reviews and the photos of their work. The work done was clean and the guys that came to do the work were friendly and professional. I do not recommend this company however due to the utter lack of honesty that occurred throughout the process. I was given a quote and was forced to pay much more than the initial proposal that I had signed. Also, I was told that an insecticide would be added to the paint. I asked time and time again to have the proof that this insecticide was added (I paid extra for it), but it was never given to me. At the very end of this long process I was given a receipt for only 15 of the gallons of the paint which had the "bug juice" added. Carpenter bees have already chewed through the paint and into my home. If this stuff was in fact added to the paint on the trim, the bees would have died eating through the wood. The owner, Rich, told me at one point "I was the problem" when I told him that transparency was an issue. If you do choose to hire them, I would ask them to honor their initial quote. In my opinion, I have never been made to feel like the customer is always wrong more than I did when I hired him. Although the house looks good, we spent more than what was quoted and was argued with throughout the course of the project even though all we wanted was honesty. Headache.

Was very, very bad. Lousy job all around the house, none projects was finish, never on time. Always excuses and stays late at night. Completely unprofessional. Remove a window at the basement and living open and dont said anything about it. Damage parts of the house and dont tell.

    The New Sunrise Painting
The owners/painters from New Sunrise Painting did a fantastic job! They made excellent recommendations, and were patient with us as we worked through getting just the right colors for the trim and panels. Most importantly they always communicated with me on start times, cost, etc., which is critical for any work. I would highly recommend New Sunrise for any painting work you need! I will be hiring them again for other paint work I will need to have done. Thanks for a job well done!

    European Craftsman and Remodeling
He showed up to look at the job and seemed like he was very professional and knowledgeable. He was on time and initially very friendly. Once it came time for him to actually do the work the excuses and problems began. He had multiple days in the fall when the temperatures/weather were appropriate to do the painting but he didn't get it done. He then recommended waiting until the Spring which I agreed to do. With Spring here and temperatures again great for painting I again didn't hear from him. I called today (4/25/2016) and spoke with him, only to be told he was busy with some big jobs and would try to "squeeze" me in but he didn't know when. He also complained about doing the "high stuff" that needed to be done. I explained to him that this was the whole reason he was hired in the first place as I can handle painting the lower portions myself. He also complained about having to do the work for the Angie's List price he had advertised. At this point I no longer felt confident that he will do the quality job he had promised. I told him I would cancel his service. Only when the service was cancelled did he text me to say he would now give me extra time and do the work. It's amazing how people's attitudes and demeanor change when you have the power of Angie's list on your side.

Our two decks are much better looking than before. We were unhappy with the previous deck carpenter. Andy fixed their mistakes and suggested a semi solid stain which looks great. He worked over the Memorial weekend and got it done today. He charged us the price agreed on and is such a pleasure to deal with.  We have upcoming projects to do and plan on using him.

Bruce and Paula are the best!  The job went fantastic -- and my deck looks brand new!  They are extremely neat and clean up wonderfully.  They show up at the appointed time and are extremely respectful of my property.

    Tim Lewis Construction LLC
Tim is just a really decent, straighforward and professional guy.   It was a very pleasant experience to have him work on our home and to find a contractor that is respectful and honest.   He's not the cheapest guy out there but I think our experience is a lesson in "you get what you pay for".    He gave his informed and useful opinion on the stains that we considered using and was willing to research new materials without the attitude that many other experienced contractors seem to have.  As women clients, we especially appreciated this professionalism and even disposition.   His work was careful and thorough.  He did not rush through the job but took the time to ensure it was done well.   He cleaned up after himself and was careful not to spatter stain on our walkway and other landscaping, which is very important to us.   This job was done over several weeks, both to accomodate our work schedule and to accomodate several personal and conflicting job schedules that occurred for Tim.     We did not mind being flexible at all, but others who need a job done in a hurry should discuss scheduling requirements up front.   Tim will get the work done.    The work on the shed turned out to be more time-consuming than Tim thougt it was going to be and we adjusted the payment agreement.    We did not feel that this was improper because we've painted that shed before and it does require a ton of detail work.   It was also very dry and required an additional coat.
We would recommend Tim for painting and staining based our our experience of him and his work.
