AHandyman AndyAndy works on my projects like if it was his own home. Gives lots of options--my favorite instruction is for to make it last as long as possible for the best price. Everything comes out much better than I expected. Our front door project included diagnosing a gutter leak, redirecting/rebuilding the gutter, rebuilding the affected door jamb and adjacent wall, and custom building the little roof over the outside stairs entering our house. He did a beautiful job and we no longer have leaks. If you can get onto his schedule, he really is the best.- Marzena N.

FDear Fellow Homeowner: DO NOT HIRE A PLUS HOME SERVICES of Cortlandt Manor unless you enjoy living in a nightmare. We hired A PLUS on January 31, 2020 to build and install a custom pergola on our small (175 sf) terrace and perform some related cabinetry and woodwork. After signing contracts, Marlon of A PLUS asked for a 60% payment upfront (red-flag #1). From the beginning, we told Marlon we would like to have everything completed by July 4th which he said would not be a problem. Months later, and even after allowing for the pandemic related moratorium, we have been left high and dry. Promises to show up repeatedly broken. Workers improperly showing up late at night with no supervision and doing improper work. Proper insurance certificates never provided (another red flag) The job has been plagued by slipshod workmanship. Design and materials changed without approval. Materials were improperly measured indicating this was not a custom job as promised. Workers showing up without required materials. Repeated texts inquiring when he would return to the job or refund our money ignored. Adopted a belligerent attitude when pressed about not showing up or poor quality of workmanship (another red flag) Essentially A PLUS has abandoned the job which to date is completely unsatisfactory. The true name of the company should be F MINUS HOME SERVICES. Marlon seems to open new businesses often. His other companies are SS Express, Safe & Sound Security Solutions so beware if you are considering hiring him. Unless you enjoy sleepless nights, looking at an unfinished job, and having to go to small claims court at night to recoup your money, do not hire this contractor.

AWe have a 28-year-old raised ranch that had the original construction grade white vinyl siding. We wanted to re-side it with vinyl siding (with a new color) and replace soffits, fascia, and gutters. We also wanted to add cultured stone around the bottom floor of the house (approx. 650 sq. ft.). Noah worked with us in making all the decisions and his input was invaluable He has a real eye for what will work together, and how to make things “pop”. He is patient, knowledgeable, and professional, and kept in touch with us at each stage of the project to discuss particulars. His crew is hard working and their craftsmanship is excellent. The work also included repainting all the exterior doors and wrapping the exterior in foam board insulation before installing the new siding. We are incredibly pleased with the result and will absolutely have him complete other projects for us. We highly recommend him without any reservations.

AOur house is over 100 years old and has a stone foundation. On the uphill side of the house, water would come through the wall and run across the floor. Having worked with David Friedlander before on other work I called him up. He suggested digging out to the footings and waterproofing the outside of the foundation. When we dug out, we found that the outside of the foundation was loose and unmortared--sealing wouldn't work well. He suggested building a form around the foundation and pouring a new concrete wall around the existing foundation. It worked amazingly well. The basement is dry as a bone, and the foundation should be good for another hundred years at least! His crew is professional and hard-working. They worked through a snowstorm, and took great care of our place. Best of all, David and the rest of the business are easy to communicate with, clear on expectations and needs, transparent on costs, are able to be scheduled quickly, and work fast. They're great!
