    MIBA Electric
Mike is very professional and friendly. We used him once before to install a chandelier in our stairwell, as well as rewire our chandelier in the dining room and move it to the center of the room. For this service, we hired him to install a brand new outlet in the basement, seeing how there were no outlets for anything else except the washer and dryer. He explained the process and was upfront about the cost which was very reasonable. Service was professional and cleaned up any mess from cut wire, packaging, etc... We are using him again for our next project in the garage. I highly recommend him.

These guys are fantastic. I called for them and they came within the hour. The foreman is very professional, thorough and courtesy. He noticed and immediately discussed things that needed correction. I had two fans installed in my great room and the price he gave me was extremely fair. He even changed my halogen bulbs from my high ceiling to LED. The explanation of each course of action was given in detail, and with enough comprehension for understanding. These gentlemen cleanup quickly. If you need to have electrical work done, Ohms electricians are trustworthy electricians.

Excellent, Ken is a stand up electrician. He walked us through everything and gave his opinion on the job and the best way to handle it all. His work is clean and professional. Ken was easy to work with and he was extremely personable with out little 3yo handyman. We would hire and recommend Ken to anyone who wants an honest and well done electrical job.

Doug was very courteous, friendly, and professional.  He explained everything clearly.  We had some health issues in my family during the time that we were scheduling the work, and Doug was very flexible and accommodating about working around them.
This was our first experience with Angie's List, and it couldn't have gone better.  We would gladly hire Doug again in the future and recommend him to others.

Very professional.  Came on time. Quiet. Cleaned up. And  went above and beyond.  Just went ahead and put back all the insulation that was left in a big pile in the crawl up attic by previous contractor.  Plugged stuff in the new outlets and neatly rolled up all the extension cords that were no longer needed.  Now I don't know much about electrical work but the town inspector that came commented that they did a good job and he would know.

    Local Dad Repairs
Back in December we had a certain so called "HOLMES" come in to remodel our bathroom. He told us he was like "HOLMES" and always fixed everyone's problems. He showed us pictures of work he did....... At least we thought it was work he did. He was a very good talker and this being our first time dealing with a contractor fell for every word he said. He had all these great ideas etc... Well it was the exact opposite. This guy caused us so many problems including bad electrical wiring, totally horrible tile work, replaced our ceiling and made it even worse! Well thank god we were able to find Jeff Eckes from LOCAL DAD REPAIRS here in Dutchess County. Jeff came in and gave us a fair price and told us exactly what he needed to do. He also explained EVERYTHING he was doing and why it had to be done. Jeff honestly knows basically everything about home repairs inside and out explained to us in words we could understand. Jeffs preparation and cleanup was great, always covering areas so they would not get dirty or damaged and when he left it was like no one was ever in the bathroom.Jeff ended up doing all the tile work in our bathroom, replaced our ceiling, fixed the electrical wiring,  installed recessed lighting, replaced all trim work ( including soap/shampoo recessed shelves in the tub area which was something our original "HOLMES" said could not be done ),  installed a bathroom fan, fixed plumbing job and installed our vanity. The tile work did take longer than expected and to Jeffs credit he stuck to his original estimate which is something we as customers highly value. Any other contractor would have said " sorry it took me 25 hours extra so heres another bill". Jeff understood our budget and stuck to his original price.  When it was all said and done our bathroom came out exactly the way we wanted it. What first started off as a nightmare ended up being a situation that we were happy with and thankful we found Jeff to fix the mess for us. After our bathroom was done we did some research on our original contractor. It turns out he was already sued in NY for doing the same thing to other families. We actually found an article on this guy from ABC news which did a big story on him. So one thing we learned is to research your contractors before you decide to do any work with them. Do not be afraid to ask for licenses, referrals etc...If we did this we would have saved a lot of time and some unneeded stress.

    Handy Andy
I found a Handy Andy flyer in my mail box, and I knew what I wanted to do I just did'nt know who to call, and it was a cute little flyer, so I called, and this gentlemen comes over to my house his name is Tom. I showed him where I wanted to put the bathroom. He,talk to me for about and hour took measurments, look at where the plumbing would come from and the electric, where he could tie the drainage into. He walk outside a few times, then he came back we sat down and he wrote me and estimate, right there, which was nice I did'nt have to wait, which was good, I really wanted to start this and get it done. He told me it was going to cost $6000 and that he could do all the shopping for me even the fixtures if I would tell him what I wanted, and he did. He got started the very next day and did'nt stop until it was done. The other thing he did that I did'nt have to was he got me the permit from the town I lived in. Everything went smoothhly, I did'nt worry about a thing.

From start to finish the experience was enjoyable. Omar is pleasant and knowledgeable. His cousin did much of the work in our house, but we are happy with the promptness and quality of the work.
