Tim is FANTASTIC! If you need a plumber please please please give Tim a call. We had our sump pump malfunction and our basement was full of water. I gave Tim a call and within an hour he was at my house and happy to help! He is so friendly and his work is topnotch! He has extremely fair pricing and truly enjoys helping people. Thank you for saving our day Tim, we are beyond thankful.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We had a leak from our tub drain. After paying $89 for an initial visit, we were told that this was a major problem and would cost $1700 to fix. Major problem took less than 2 hours to fix, parts that I could get from Home Depot for less than $75, and I later found out included almost $300 to open up the ceiling when there is no ceiling in that part of our house to open! After a great deal of back and forth they admitted that the ceiling charge was inaccurate and refunded just that. But if I am generous and allow for $100 in materials, we still payed more than $600 per hour. Please, please do yourself a favor and find a plumber who isnt looking to take advantage of home owners.

    Drain-Away Sewer and Drain Service
Yesterday, I was faced with my worst nightmare...major plumbing problems on Thanksgiving morning! I woke up to the sound water gurgling through my pipes in the basement. When I went downstairs to investigate, I found that water had backed up and filled my utility sink, there was water on the floor and the grinder pump was running continuously. Not having a regular plumber I had used in the past, I immediately went to Angie's List for help and found Richard's "Drain-Away" service. I called at 6:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning and Richard picked right up (which was amazing by itself!). I explained the situation and he said he would be here in about an hour. He arrived exactly when he said he would and went down to check things out. He determined there was a blockage between the house and the septic tank and said it would be better to clear the blockage from the tank back to the house. We went out back and dug the hole to get to the cover of the septic tank. Once we opened it up, Richard was able to use his snake to clear the line and all was back to normal. I can't thank Richard enough. He was very responsive to my call, arrived when he said he would, and was very reasonably priced. I found the problem at 6:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning and all was fixed by 10:00 AM! I would definitely use Richard again and highly recommend him.

Harry was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The estimated cost was reasonable and right on target. His suggestions to deal with special issues were entirely reasonable. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The crew was cheerful and friendly. The entire job was complete in two days (One day for the drainage issues, and one for the paving.) Very neat workers and thorough clean-up after completion. Highly recommended.

I hired this company to install a water tank as they came in with the lowest quote, and I was going to hire them to install a water pump as well on the assumption that their rates would be on the lower end for this as well. However after 3-4 missed appointments, having to follow up with them time and time again to remind them about said appointments, a series of flippant phone calls and text messages, and one final unbelievable conversation with Wayne (I called HIM to confirm the appointment, he again said that he again wouldnt make it, and when I confronted him about this being a chronic issue he began berating me and saying that he did all kinds of things for free and that it was my fault for buying a house with these issues), I stopped pursuing them and went with another company. The other company ended up being $100 cheaper and infinitely more professional and pleasant to work with. Wayne's rudeness and lack of professionalism was astounding. I will never work with them again.

    A & J Plumbing/Heating
After buying a foreclosed home I had hired another plumber to check everything out and get the water running, but he gave me the run around for weeks. I became fed up with this so I called A&J and Tim made time to install my new pump on EXTREMELY short notice (he was there within 30 minutes of my call to him, wow!). Once that was done, we found that the water still wasn't circulating to the rest of the house, but despite not being scheduled for diagnostics/other fixes and having another appointment to go to, he immediately jumped into resolving the other issues. It turns out that the house was badly winterized and many of the pipes are broken - while we couldn't get it fixed today due to the extent of the work that is needed, I am SO impressed by his flexibility, willingness to figure out and fix my issues as soon as possible, and over all professionalism and customer service. I will certainly be using them from now on!

    Drain-Away Sewer and Drain Service
I was impressed with Drain Away's representative, Andre, He was on time, had a professional manner and most of all had good plumbing skills. He knew what he was doing and didn't make a mess fixing the problem. Andre assessed the problems and corrected it. The price was extremely reasonable for the job done. I had experience with another plumber the week before that obviously didn't have the same skill level as Drain Away. The plumber tried to sell me some elaborate fix. It just did not make any sense to me. In addition there was no initial visit fee or hourly rate with Drain Away, but there was with the plumber who made the kitchen sink worse. I have no problem recommending Drain Away to my clients, family and friends.

Crew readjusted the line in the cellar and refit the rubber connector from plastic drain line to the outgoing water line. Suggestions were made to limit the water used and the amount of soap used in the laundry loads to decrease the bubbling in the line during the spin cycle. The two man crew was very knowledgeable and carried out their work quickly , efficiently and with a pleasant demeanor.

    A Real Plumber

I purchased a $79 Angie's List deal for A Real Plumber to replace an outdoor faucet. They were pretty quick about scheduling, and showed up on time. That's the last good thing.
The owner, Winston, and another guy looked at my Angie's List printout and said "oh this is for a regular faucet, not the frost-free kind. Winston expressly stated "the frost-free is a $40 part" so I agreed. I had already paid $79 through Angie's List, which specifically covered materials and labor.
The actual work took them 20 minutes or so, and then the other guy (not Winston) came in with a pre-written bill for $115 - that's on top of the $79 I had already paid through Angie's List - $40 for the part and $75 for ??????. I said "I already paid $79, and it was a $40 upgrade, what's the extra $75?" The kid said "that's the upgrade fee." I sucked it up and paid it because I just wanted it done and them gone, but immediately emailed Winston (to the address he had sent the scheduling email) saying that I just got taken. He never responded, but found time to deposit my check the same day.
The work was shoddy. Where they screwed in the new pipe leaked and was so loose that my kitchen faucet (same water line as the outdoor faucet) was audibly drawing air. I fixed it myself in 5 minutes. They also never did the "complimentary plumbing inspection" that was part of the deal, but I'm glad because they probably would have ripped me off more.
These guys have tons of "deals" on Angie's List, but I recommend staying as far away as possible.
I submitted a complaint to Angie's List, and am considering reporting it to the state.
