Quality Craftsmanship of Central New York
Demolition was labor-intensive on this job but it was done well, with all debris hauled away.
    New construction:
Framed in and installed new linen closet where the old shower stall had been.
Installed new electrical boxes and new lighting.
    Plumbed in new tub/shower fixtures.
Installed ceiling light fixture and exhaust vent and fan.
Sheetrocked the walled an ceilings. Primed and painted.
Installed new baseboard and window moldings.
    Installed tile for bathtub surround.
    New subfloor and flooring.

We were very pleased with Jeff and his crew. The bathroom is beautiful and very functional. Work was done efficiently and with good humor! All demolition material was hauled away and they always cleaned up before leaving for the day. Took three weeks to complete but this was due to a delay in the flooring order - not caused by Jeff.  Repairs were made to walls of adjoining rooms that were stressed by demolition.
Jeff's estimate was slightly higher than other estimates but we think it was worth it. He provided very detailed outline in his estimate of all materials, labor, construction, and removal of debris. Final cost was higher than original estimate because we decided on some upgrades not orignally planned for.
We found Jeff to be dependable, professional and a hard worker with the expertise needed for the job.

    T-Square Custom Remodeling and framing
The first time T-Square did work in my home was about 3 years ago.  He  showed up with his guys prepped the area where they were going to work. covered everything with plastic and started working.  Although we had already signed an agreement They worked an entire day before he came to me for the down payment we had agreed on. The only days they did not show up were days that he advised me in advance that for some reason or other they would not be there that day. I was comfortable with that. When the job was done. I felt like I had cheated them. They went way beyond the call of duty to make sure I was happy and I can be pretty annoying when I'm not happy.  I don't remember a lot of the other details but I am still enjoying my sun room today. He has gotten a little more busy I guess since then.  It's harder to get him and his prices have increased but I'm always satisfied with the work.

    Drennen Construction
We had to take the owner to arbitration and won our claim and it was upheld by a county court judge.  The business was found liable for damages, faulty and poor quality workmanship. Bad staining of trim, improper angles cut on trims.
Our basement toilet that was installed during the remodel flooded twice due to faulty inhalation and damaged the new construction while still working upstairs on the kitchen.  Repairs/ replacements were not completed or made correctly. Paint and trims were poor quality and incomplete. Deck was demolished for repair of the basement wall for leaking, when simple fixes didn't work. a roofing grade seal coating was painted to the inside of the basement wall. Valuable shrubs that were to be saved for landscaping around the new deck were improperly translated and died.
The kitchen remodel - A second contractor hired to fix and finish the job uncovered serious mistakes and safety hazards
my wall cabinets were installed upside down, meaning I either had to live with them or order new ones, my large pantry cabinet was damaged and the back was pulling off, My refrigerator was damaged being moved in to the home. the Hardy board sub floor was not installed as the manufacturer outlines. Floor tile was missing from the job site. A building codes inspector found fault with the wiring which was placed under a sink instead of on the opposite side of a wall. The microwave fan was not directed into the vent duct and was blowing back into my kitchen. After removing the cabinets it was found that there was no insulation put into my kitchen walls which are exterior walls. No wonder food was freezing in the cabinets and my energy bill increased. A patio door was removed on an adjoining wall and a window was never installed as agreed upon. After the patio was removed the framing in of the walls was not sanded or primed before they painted so you could easily see the outline of the door. there was paint on my ceiling fans and skylights. The recessed ceiling was not leveled with the hall way and was improperly framed and secured which made it crack continuously until done properly.
Here is the most disturbing!! Live uncapped wires were found in the ceiling of the hall that led to my children's rooms right next to where the smoke alarm wires hung out but was never put back up. Live uncapped exposed wires were also found wound up and placed behind a 2x4 next to our back door ( ie an exit rout). A spark in either location could have killed or caused serious injury to my family. I was prepared for a few months of construction and inconvenience but my children had to endure the most chaos and it lasted for an entire year as we could not begin to make repairs until arbitration was complete. The garage, yard, and in the home was riddled with construction debris, razor blades, nails, contractor tools, boards, and electrical wires, not to mention the plaster dust everywhere and my daughter has bad allergies, my mother has a walker and could barely get around when she came to visit.
Drennen Construction workers didn't always show up and when they did the owner rarely came over unless it was to collect money or to listen to complaints we continuously made.  I will never recomend this company no matter how small the job. It was one of the worst experiences of our lives and the fear that it could have been worse continues to haunt me.

I gave him $5,000 July 20th thinking he was going to start, but he didn't start until mid-September.  He keeps pushing back the expected finish date.  All he has done is ripped out the tile.  He is taking advantage of me because I am from out of town.  I would not recommend him to anyone.

The representative/owner was extremely personable. He was not a pushy sales person. He wanted to make sure we got what we wanted. We visited his shop MANY times and each time he was happy to help. He kept his appointments and gave us options. He even suggested more than we thought of, such as the angle of the counter and a matching windowsill. I wanted a customized sink, the opposite to what he showed me at his shop. He ordered it right away and had it ready before the install.
Price wise, he knocked off as much as he could from the price and beat all his competitiors.
I can't say enough good about this company. He was even careful to include our family members present into his conversations so as not to shut anyone out. He assured us that his goal was not only to make us happy, but to exceed his own expectations of what he believed he could do for us. We had to have him return to change one small item and he was happy to do it, even after the job was paid. What a great guy and company! The other thing I like is he is a smaller family owned business, competing with the big guys and I believe he did better than they would due to the personalized attention we received. I would recommend them to anyone.
Out granite looks beautiful and the measurements could not have fit better.

Kevin was really prompt on returning your call or e-mails. If he cannot get to it right away, he will e-mail you or call you to let you know that he is working on it or get to it and give you approximately time frame of when he can give you an answer (estimate or design change or response from the vendor or whatever it is). (unlike a lot of vendors or contractors who do not get back to you even after many promises of getting back to you) His rough estimate for the project was very close to what it ended up as the actual cost, and that estimate was lower than the other home improvement chain's proposal which took a long time to receive. As I first mentioned, Kevin told us when he could give us the estimate, and he delivered his promise like any great merchant would do.
If you use your own contractor and bought the material directly, I am sure it would have been less expensive, and that is the only reason I gave B instead of A for the price.(but remember, B is still "Good") In our case, we are very happy that we used Kevin Fahy Kitchen because we did not have to worry about each process of planning and executing the renovation. The carpenters were very friendly and did a great job installing the cabinets and hooking up plumbing and electrical outlets. The only minor drawback was that we had to wait for about 2-3 weeks after the cabinets were installed to have the counter top installed by another vendor. We knew about it so overall, the whole thing came together in the time frame that Kevin estimated. He would not tell you something just to get your business if something is impossible or he cannot promise, but he will give you his best estimate on how the whole project will take place.
We also used the financing (Small Project VISA) options, which made it easier for us to decide to go with Kevin.
We did find him on Angie's List, and we are very happy that we used his service for this project.

    Rosero Technical Services
After he was done I had to literally have it ripped out and start it all over again.  He was really bad and it was not that he messed up just a little bit.  The worst part is that he is an instructor.  He did something to the neutral wire such that I had to have the power company come into my house.  I told him I wanted a new main box on one side and he put it on the other side of the living room.  He made holes in my living room floors and put wax over it.  He put in all the cupboards wrong.  His pricing was moderate, reasonable and not outrageous.  I would never ever use him again in the future.

The blue prints were 3D and allowed us to move them around and see how we wanted the kitchen to look. The work went extremely well and the kitchen is great. His prices were reasonable and very responsive.
