    Aymee Belen DMD
After being placed in the treatment chair I advised the two technitions present that I did not want the root canal that I was scheduled for because my insurance company said it was not necessary and they would not pay for it.  They left the room and the receptionist returned and said very forcefully that it did not matter what the insurance company said, I needed the root canal.
I said okay, and she returned moments later requesting payment.  I paid by credit card for the root canal and the crown, both which were to be completed during that appointment.  Although nothing was told directly to me, the root canal did not go well.  During the process I was taken for xrays three times. When leaving, I was asked for further payment for the follow up work.
I became uncomfortable with the treatment I had been given, and after several consultations with other doctors I was told that the root had been perforated and I would have to have the tooth removed.  It took me months to receive reinbursement for the work that was not completed.  Had I agreed to sign a release from all manner of action I could have received reimbursement for the work done and not yet done.  I did not want to give up my right to discuss the treatment I received, so I eventually was reimbursed for the work paid for but not yet done.

    Daniel Cerio DDS,DMD
Dr. Daniel Cerio did a good job. My son has been back and forth and I've had services but he's been good. I can't say I dislike him at all, he did fine. He's a real friendly guy and did a nice job on his tooth.

    1st Advantage Dental
Two and half years ago I had some cavities filled (different office, different dentist). What should have been a simple procedure turned into a 2 1/2 year nightmare that I am still dealing with. After the fillings, those teeth became very sensitive and painful. The fillings were re-done 3 times. I had a root-canal. I was referred to other dentists and specialists. In two years, I saw 9 different dentists and specialists. I finally went to Dr. Friedman at 1st Advantage Dental. He was recommended to me by Dr. Goldstein. Dr. Goldstein is an endodontist at the same Latham office who treated me 5 years ago for an unrelated issue. He was also the one who discovered an abscess from an old root canal that was missed by 2 other dentists, so I trusted him and I have not regretted it because Dr. Friedman is wonderful. He is sensitive to my problems instead of telling me that I am crazy and it's all in my head (as one very frustrated dentist told me). Above all, he is honest with me. He told me that I am a very difficult case and somewhat a mystery but he will do everything he can to help me. Which is exactly what he has done. I have been relatively pain free for 3 months and even though I still have a long road to recovery, I trust that with the help of Dr. Friedman, I'll get there.
The dental assistants there are very nice, as well. And the ladies at the front desk are always so polite and professional. I'm just very happy with the service that I receive there.

    Geoffrey B. Edmunds, DDS
I was treated by Dr. Edmunds from January 2012 - August 2012. At first he was very nice, polite, and seemed genuine in trying to help me. He kept making promises that he'll be able to and quot;fix everythingand quot; and and quot;it will all be okand quot;. He came up with half a dozen different theories about why my teeth became so sensitive and painful after some simple cavity fillings: everything from large canals to stress. After four months of treatment and a root canal, he was ready to crown one tooth despite the fact that I was still experiencing pain and discomfort. That is when he started to get irritated and frustrated with me. He told that he wanted to to wait to put the crown on until the pain subsided but a week later his office called me to ask why I have not come in to get the crown put on? And this happened 3 times. He would tell me one thing, and then something completely different days later and would get angry at me when I would point out that we discussed a different course of treatment. At one point, I called the office to say that something was wrong and I was in pain. The secretary was very rude to me and when I spoke to Dr. Edmunds, he was very annoyed with me and told me I was being crazy and I was bothering him but that he will prescribe me pain medication anyways just so that I would be satisfied. I was able to convince him that to see me the next week and he looked very uncomfortable when he had to admit that the pain was caused by a very bad gum infection caused by his temporary crown. He had to use a laser to remove the infected gum tissue, but not before telling me that the laser is a $700 procedure that he is performing for free and quot;out of the goodness of his heartand quot;, not because he was wrong. During the 15 minute procedure, he talked nonstop. He told me that there is nothing he can do that will ever help me. How nobody can help me because it was all in my head. All the x-rays show that there is nothing wrong with my tooth so the pain is all subconscious. He said that if I want help, I need a psychologist or a psychiatrist. He was viscous and this went on for the entire 15-20 minute procedure. I had the contraption in my mouth to prevent me from closing it and I had a laser in my mouth. I literally could not say a word in my defense so I all I could do was lay there and cry while the assistant wiped the tears running down my face. And he just continued on and on. I never recieved an apology from that man. My last dealing with him was when he called me personally to tell me that I was a waste of his time.

Things went well. I was greeted by staff as I entered the office. The dental hygienist let me know I would be taken in shortly,
I was quickly called in. I have been a patient for many years. We quickly updated each on family members. After the cleaning the
doctor came in and gave a great examine .

    Louis D Rabice DDS Inc
There may be an occasional ten to fifteen minute wait in the waiting room, but once in the chair you don't wait long at all for Dr. Rabice. That counts with patients who might get apprehensive while waiting under those bright lights around all that equipment.

I think he is great. I don't have a lot of dental needs, but I really like his staff. They have always taken care of my billing without any problem, I have insurance and they covered that. The office staff is really great, the hygienists are really great, and it has always been easy to get in.
