Lawn Care reviews in Troy

Delanson Gardens (Doug) was beyond fantastic to work with. Doug provided a timely quote and accurate estimates for when he would start the job and walked us through the logistics from start to finish. Doug and his team worked extra hard to keep the project moving when we hit (literally) a major roadblock and found a boulder where our patio was supposed to be. Doug made a recommendation for a design change that worked and kept the project moving forward. He also went above and beyond and used our extra materials to spruce up some areas of our yard beyond what was in scope. Doug is punctual, communicative and extremely attentive to detail. You will not be disappointed.

Wayne is very trustworthy, accurate, and prompt. He always does a great job on any and all of the services that he does for me. I would recommend him to do any of your lawn services and/or snow removal.

Worked with S&C for 2 years and loved their service! Very good job mowing, trimming and making my yard look beautiful. I just found out they will no longer be servicing me and I am so sad they won't be coming back! Thank you for everything!

They had to reschedule twice and ended up coming later in the day than was optimal. The sun was setting as they finished up their work. These guys worked very hard, did a phenomenal job in 2 hours.

These guys could not have been more professional and accommodating. Outstanding businessmen who just did a bang up job for my recently widowed Mother in Law.

Great job guys! Will definitely use your services in the future!

First of all he accomidated my work schedule & did the work on a Saturday. He felt it was important for me to be home, to answer any questions & to periodically critique the progress, making sure that it was what I was wanted. He was late to arrive because he refused the quality of the stone I wanted & went to another supplier that had a better quality product. He called to let me know why he was late & gave me an approximate arrival time. He brought one other employee and both were very professional. They worked the whole day & didn't leave until I was satisfied with the end result. The next day I received an email asking if I had any questions or concerns about their completed job. That was impressive to me & showed me that the goal of Delanson Gardens is to provide the highest quality of work for their customer. I responded to that email in a joking manner telling him that my dog had pulled up some of the weed fabric. I asked him what the product was called because I would repair the area in the Spring. He replied with the information I asked for and then asked me when was a good time for him to come over and repair it. I ignored the email because I didn't want him to travel to Troy to repair a problem that my dog made. Well I came home from work this week and found my garden was repaired and the leaves were removed from the areas he worked on. What a wonderful surprise and another example of the pride he takes in his work & the importance of having a satisfied customer! I have already scheduled more work to be done in the Spring!

Brad has good working knowledge of masonry jobs. I hired his company in July 2013 to removed the trees and clean up my back yard, which was very hilly. He did a good job on that project so I hired him again to grade my back yard including removal of 6 old concrete window sills, grading and level the ground, pour 4 sonic tubes to support the stair case of the deck, and pour gravel and asphalt to provide a nice driveway. I am very happy with the work. Brad is very knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely hire him again.

They did the job and it really looked very nice. However, a couple of weeks after they completed the job a friend said to me: Did you buy the mulch with grass seed in it? Grass was indeed growing up in the beds EVERYWHERE. The same friend told me my Qickfire hydrangea were not Quickfire but ordinary white hydrangea.
I called to complain and someone came by the house to look at  the problem in a relatively timely manner.  After looking at it he  said : "you have some money coming back because we didn't use all the top soil we thought we would need. We used some of the old soil."
Wouldn't that be the reason for the weeds growing in everywhere? No comment was made other than I'll come back myself and weed and Ill find out  about the hydrangea.
That solution seemed so ridiculous ( he was going to come weed every week for ever?) I called the owner. His solution was to send someone over and spray the weeds with Round Up. Of course that is unacceptable. I can't take a chance of poisoning my neighbors yards or my pets or neighbors pets.
Honestly the damage was not fixable short of pulling the entire garden out. I didn't expect them to do that. I expected them to have done a professional job to begin with.
Further no one ever corrected the Hydragea Problem.

It went really well from start to finish.  I only wish I had called them earlier so this work could have been done in May and not July.  As I write this I realize that they may even get busier next year, but indeed they deserve to be.  I have had others do smaller jobs, but there was nothing like what Larry, Josh and the team did today.  They are very professional from start to finish and cleaned up every speck of debris.  In areas where I was not certain, Larry went over my options and guided me through important points which I really did not know.  I would, and will use them again and think you will find no better out there.

We are quite displeased with Whispering Pines. We contracted them for the entire 2014-2015 snowplowing season paying in advance, but he only showed up twice and both times quite late after my wife had already left for work. Then he completely vanished for over a month and through three major snowstorms, forcing us to hire someone else. This was very difficult and expensive that late in the year.... I had to pay a full season price to someone else to finish out the season. To make matters worse, Whispering Pines destroyed our driveway on his first plow of the season by having the plow blade too low. This pushed literally tons of gravel onto our grass in huge piles. He promised to clean this up in the spring in writing over email, but never did anything. I offered to accept simply a partial refund from him for not completing the snowplowing season and he never responded. I asked several times if he would clean up the huge piles of gravel in my yard, he never responded. I haven't heard from him in months and at this point, other than legal action which we are considering, writing this review appears to be our only recourse. Patrick, please contact us if you wish to resolve this matter in an amicable way, in which case we'll update this review. Thank you.
