I was pleasantly surprised.  They brought in music of my choice and chatted with me in good humor throughout.  3 people in the room (Doctor, Nurse, and Physician Assistant), not at all "Cold" or "Clinical". The whole thing took about 20 minutes with about 5 minutes per side of actual operating.  Dr. James is expert at minimizing pain and describing exactly what you'll feel and when. Aside from the needle for the local anesthetic and a little pulling here and there, I really felt very little. I've had dental cleanings that were more painful.
Total cost to me was $850 (I have a high deductible plan, so need to meet that before co-insurance kicks in).  I paid in full at the time of the procedure.
I was walking and operating fine same right after the procedure and aside from avoiding heavy lifting and strain, all I've needed is a little Tylenol (note, avoid Ibuprofen or any blood-thinning pain med) and I'm fine!

He evaluated all of her prior test results from other doctors and ordered a few more tests. He was very kind and did an excellent job of explaining what was going on. She felt very comfortable with him. The nursing staff also did a great job of putting our minds at ease when they called to schedule more tests.

    Derosalia, Dr. Angelo R.
I was so impressed with this office I just couldn't believe it. I think it is part of a group. I had a lesion on my bladder and he had removed it. I had the first visit and they snipped a little piece out of my bladder. The next visit, he handed me a copy of the report and for each visit at the end of the visit, they handed me a copy of the days visit which included the reason for the visit, today's diagnosis, problems, allergies, medications, diagnostic test results, just everything that we went over. I thought that was really cool. It also included my next appointment. I thought, this is great, you couldn't have better communication than this. I really appreciated that. I liked him a lot. He was very personable. He was intelligent and had a really good bedside manner. I have so many medications that I can't remember. I print out them out and also do the same thing in reverse. I write down what my concerns are and I give them a little background. In this case, I had said I am physically active, I swim, I bike, I walk. He came in and he said, I have one question I want you to answer right away, and I said, oh what is that? He said, how long do you swim? In my case, I swim a mile in a shot and he is also a swimmer so we had that right off the bat as common ground.

I arrived 90 minutes after my appointment time due to my own scheduling error. I offered to reschedule on another day but the receptionist was very friendly and said they would fit me in. I was seated only about 5 minutes when my name was called. The nursing staff was very friendly and with a good sense of humor. Dr. Heisig was very professional, communicated clearly, was not rushed and my time with him was very relaxed. I left the consultation well informed for my upcoming procedure.

This doctor has a reputation for being well respected and extremely knowledgeable and skilled in his field.  I wish he had had a warmer bedside manner, and much better communication, however.  I think he could definitely improve on explaining what test(s) he's about to perform and why (and what is involved during the test), as well as what the results are, and what options there may be for further tests and/or treatments (including each ones pros and cons).

I'm completely satisfied with him. He seems fine. He's friendly and calm. The receptionist is very friendly and efficient. His punctuality, communication, and bedside manner are great. The office environment is good. If I need a prescription I can call and they will take care of it very efficiently. I will continue to use him in the future.

    Makhuli, Dr. Zahi N
I see him twice a year and will continue to see him twice a year. He has been very good. I had a bad experience with another urologist and Dr. Makhuli has been wonderful in comparison. What I've appreciated is that we review the information together, very carefully and thoroughly. He doesn't treat me as if I'm ignorant and lets me make my own decisions about treatment.
