Laid laminated flooring

He removed the carpet and foam padding then removed the staples using a scraper. He spread the underlayment paper from one wall to the opposite wall and joined each sheet to the other using my duct tape. I had considered doing the job myself, and I had read that the paper should be run up the walls and inch or two. He was the professional, so I kept my mouth shut. He read the instructions for the laminate I had bought because he was unfamiliar with it. The first row went fine for him but the second and from there on he was fussing and criticizing the product. He also used 1/2 inch spacers against the wall all around. My instructions said to use 1/4 inch spacers. At the outset he estimated the job to be 3 or 4 hours, 5 hours max. It took approximately 10 hours. He was a very nice man and liked to chat while he was working. He did not charge me for 10 hours of labor; we settled on 7. My job afterward was to replace the moulding which was 1/2 inch deep. His 1/2 inch spacers left no room for error, and he did err. There were 4 boards which were more than 1/2 inch away from the walls, so I had to match, cut, and glue narrow pieces to fill the gaps. At the starting wall, the entire length was more than 1/2 inch away. That took hours to fix. I had kept one copy of the flooring's instruction circular and found that the first strip of flooring should be laid flush against the wall. Also, the method of clicking the boards together on the first row differed from clicking the succeeding boards together, but this contractor continued with the instructions for the first row to the very last row.

Most of what Mrs. {Member's name removed} said is true, I did take the time to read the directions for the flooring that she purchased as each manufacturer is different, The spacers I used were 3/8 of an inch not 1/2", The floor was a substandard inexpensive floor that she purchased and I did the best I could with it, I wasn't happy with the finish the first day and came back and took it apart and redid it on a second day. As far as putting the underlayment down I have never heard of putting it up the side of the wall so I did what I have always done and simply put it wall to wall. As she said I did use a scraper and pliers to remove the hundreds of staples from the plywood floor but I'm not sure why she finds this to be an issue. She had removed the base molding prior to me starting the job so I never saw it and was unaware that it may have been thinner than normal. I'm sorry if she found me to be chatty but its just the way I am. As far as using her duct tape, I did in fact as she was supposed to supply all the materials and I was only removing the carpet, the pad, the staples and installing the new floor and vapor barrior. I have done many floors in the past and some are better than others, This particular floor was a no name brand that was very difficult to lock together. I'm sorry if she was unhappy and I would still do whatever it takes to make her happy but I did the best I could with the material supplied to me .If she would like me to install some shoe molding or 1/4 round and feels that it would finish the job more to her liking I will do so. I have a very good reputation and up until her report here on Angies list a very good rating. I received the super service award twice. If she calls me I will do whatever it takes to make her happy

Removed existing vanity, medicine cabinet, storage cabinet over toilet, exhaust fan, and wall paper. Prepped all walls and ceiling for paint. Install new vanity unit, medicine cabinet, storage cabinet over toilet, new exhaust fan, new light above medicine cabinet.

Russell is the ultimate professional. He is honest, very meticulous, easy to work with, and he answered our numerous questions. We ran into several electrical / plumbing problems during the project which were explained to us and resolved in most cost effective way. He rebuilt wall such that medicine cabinet would fit properly and suggested several little changes he thought would make the project come out better - which it did. Very neat and cleaned up before he left for the day. We are pleased with new bathroom and would definitely want Russell for any new projects.

Remodeled a bathroom. Ripped out what was there. Put in a walk in shower (tub size) tiled. redid floor with marble tile. Put in wainstcotting and new sink/vanity, medicine cabinet, lights and toilet. Looks very modern.

Russel is easy to work with, does his best to please and best of all asks if he is not sure what you want before doing it. The quality of his work is very good. He is professional and personable. I would recommend him highly.

Removed closet doors, shelves and bars of our walk-in closet. Reconstructed doorway, installed new configuration of shelves and bars.

The project was completed in a timely manner, although we had to wait for the doors on order. The design of the closet was done to our specifications, giving us more shelves and better use of space. I would have liked to see a drawing of the design beforehand since I have limited ability to visualize these things. However, I am satisfied with the functionality and appearance of the design. The main point was to change from heavy sliding doors to a two-door centered doorway. As the provider forewarned us, any painting was left up to us.

Repair of shower floor in master bathroom with new tiles and grout. Dry wall ceiling in living room below master bedroom was also repaired after sustaining water damage from above shower floor/drain leaking.

My wife and I recently married and purchased a home and unfortunately discovered that our shower stall in the master bedroom was somehow, somewhere slowly leaking into our living room ceiling below that ultimately gave way one day and left a puddle of water in our living room. I did my best to triage the problem and analyze where the leak may be occurring. After failed attempts and fear of improperly opening the ceiling below or shower floor or walls above on my own, I knew I needed to seek help from a professional. I called Russell and when he came over to give us an estimate he was a very polite and friendly guy. He was very knowledgeable about his work but also had great judgment in that he didn't jump to conclusions or start ripping walls apart when he first got here. He actually called me up about 20 minutes later to discuss another possible cause of our problem. It was nice to know that his plan or thoughts of our problem or situation did not end when he closed our door and got into his truck. I felt as though he truly cared about our home and the task at hand. Sometimes being a new and young home owner you feel vulnerable for being taken advantage of by those who perceive you as having lack of experience or no knowledge or concept about the details and cost of the task at hand. I never once felt this way while Russell was working on our home. He explained exactly what the job would take in various scenarios and explained, examined and fixed things as though he was working on his own home. Russell is a very skilled and knowledgeable carpenter but honest in that if he thought a particular part of his work was more intricate or required assistance from another professional (ex. plumber, painter) he would tell me up front. The new tile in the shower floor looks awesome and is without leakage. He did a spectacular job fixing our ceiling in the living room as well. Although he had time constraints that were caused by events beyond his control he was honest about whether or not he'd be able to start and finish the project within the given time frame. Gratefully enough, we were able to have the project completed in time to have our living room back to enjoy the Christmas season in. Russell is truly a wonderful carpenter, trustworthy businessman and overall great person. We enjoyed doing business with him and would certainly recommend him to others. Thank you RV Interiors!!

Removed old shower area & replaced it with new, removed old flooring & leveled it, removed old sink & installed new vanity, removed wallpaper & installed wainscot board & trims, fabricated & installed closet shelves & doors, disposed of debris.

Russel Villi is a very conscientious contractor. He started on March 17, 2014 & completed the project on April 9, 2014. He was very flexible in his ability to work around 3 other subcontractors' schedule. Mr. Villi kept me informed of his schedule at all times. His project involved removing the old shower walls & replacing them with Swan Stone Walls plus updating the look of the bathroom. I ordered the shower walls and vanity which were placed on his account. The cost for the project was quite reasonable. He was very neat and laid a heavy cloth from the front door to the bathroom to protect my floor from debris. He also asked my permission to leave some of his tools in my bathroom which I had no problem with. He explained that he had never installed sub-tile Swan Stone shower panels but he did his homework and read the instructions very carefully. He was very meticulous and wanted to do the project the correct way using the correct tools. He even penciled the area to make sure the sub-tile lined up correctly to the hard back wall. We only had three panels for the walls so he found individual tiles/grout to put the tiles on the ceiling to match the shower panels. He did an awesome job! I had been using a curtain to cover the bathroom closet and decided I wanted two different size doors for that closet with the wainscot board. He fabricated them and installed them for me. I LOVE IT! He also fabricated the shelves for the closet. I asked him if I could do the painting to help defray the cost and he had no problem working with me. The finished project is beautiful. After the job was completed, he told me if there is something that needs touching up that I was not to hesitate to call him and he kept his word. Russel is a very personable guy and by the time he was finished, it felt like he was an old friend of the family.

Demoed and installed bathroom.

Russell was great from start to finish. We have an160 year old house, which makes everything a little more difficult. Russell was very creative and always listened to our requests.(for example we requested a pretty complicated marble tile design for a non-square room). Always left the worksite very clean. We are glad we contracted with R.V. Interiors and overjoyed with our new bathroom.

Remodeled our bathroom which involved gutting the entire room and removing a wall to make more space. This included installing a new door, new drywall, tile around the bathtub, and a new floor; as well as all new fixtures: bathtub, toilet, vanity, sink, and cabinet. Also included fixing duck work, reworking the plumbing and the electrical.

Russell did a marvelous job remodeling the bathroom in our 1864 home. It was not an easy job. It not only involved removing a wall and gutting the whole room, but also included dealing with problems with the wiring, the plumbing and the duct work. He discussed solutions to all the issues with an eye on cost. He was very good about making suggestions, asking us what we wanted, and listening to what we had to say. The work he did was first rate, especially the tile work around the bathtub. Not only did we end up with a beautiful new bathroom, my sister now has heat in her bedroom

Russell worked on our bathroom: he gutted our shower/bath and rebuilt the walls, installed new tile in the shower, new grout, and caulk, new faucet and handles, replaced old floor tiles, and added new grout to the floor tiles.

From start to finish, we were completely satisfied with Russell's professionalism, prompt response to our questions and concerns, and his workmanship. As Russell gutted the shower/tub area, he uncovered structural problems with our old house. He offered us suggestions and options for how to go about fixing the problems, advising us on which option was more economical, or more in keeping with the period of the house. Russell listened to what we wanted to have in the bathroom, in terms of the look and the feel of it, and he offered us options for saving money where we could. We had difficulty replacing individual floor tiles, due to the age of the home, but Russell was able to find a tile that matched well. He guarantees his work for two years and will return to take care of anything that needs to be touched up. Overall, we're pleased with the bathroom, and we'll definitely work with Russell again. And as a bonus, Russell was very patient in answering all the questions our 6 year old had about what he was doing!

Laminate Flooring installation

Russell is wonderful. He works on all his projects like they were in his own home. Very meticulous, and that sometimes means it takes a little extra time, but if that's what it takes to get it right, who can argue with that? Always answers phone messages. Shows up when he says he will, or, calls to tell you why he can't. Fairly priced. He's also a super nice guy. Genuine, funny, smart, just great. Plan on hiring him after the Holidays for a bathroom make over. Hire him! You won't be sorry!
