    Selective Sculptures
Selective Sculptures just completed a full remodeling of our forty year old kitchen. They did an exquisite job. If we were awarding stars here and five stars was the highest I would ask to assign six to everyone involved, Brian, Scott, Mike, Don, Victor, Eddie and Herrin all in particularly and for their individual contributions. They took a forty year old builders kitchen and gave us a stunningly beautiful country style kitchen that we dreamed of; inclusive of every detail we wished for and they did it at a price that was more than fair and in a timeframe that was absolutely agreeable. They are very skilled craftsman. They were all always welcome in our home because not only did they have tremendous crafting skills, each had a wonderful personality and were a pleasure to have in our home. They left the worksite spotless each night prior to their departure. They were very respectful of the fact that they were working in our home. The ideas they put forth to solve several design problems were genius. All things considered, I would not hesitate in the least to recommend Selective Sculptures to anyone considering any type of home restructuring job. There are a gaggle of contractors out there but none that will give you the type of design and work precision that Selective Sculptures can.

BELLAGIO Kitchens & Baths Marble & Granite
It was a nightmare. He and his staff stated to me that his electrician and plumber were licensed. They were not licensed or insured. Bellagio is licensed but not to do electric or plumbing. The electrician was just a handyman in reality. Sam Soykan, the owner also had his socalled licensed plumber do some electric work. His socalled licensed plumber was actually a man who pled guilty to felonies in Nassau County because he stole money from his previous employer and was ordered to pay restitution in excess of $279,000.00. I found this out when the men he used to do the electrical work caused damage to my central air conditioner and buried a junction box behind sheetrock without a cover in a wall in my garage. I paid for licensed skilled tradesmen and did not receive it. Soykan repeatedly told me and put in writing that he only used licensed electricians and plumbers. When I complained to him he sent me an email that he was going to come to my home and rip out my fireplace. He constantly threatened me verbally and in writing that I better not rock the boat. I told him that I took his comments as threats and he told me they were threats. The job was supposed to take 4 weeks and at 11 weeks it still is not complete. The countertops and island were supposed to have an Ogee edge. Bellagio fabricated the stone with the wrong edge and installed it. The edge on the island is damaged on one side and of course it is visible. I was supposed to have a mud job for the tile floor and it was not done that way. There are numerous mistakes done, none of the 12 high hats are flush with the ceiling and they supposedly did it 3 times, the cabinet doors are not level, also done 3 times, the panel on the side of the refrigerator cabinet is coming apart, the "licensed" plumber did not put silicone around the kitchen sink and many other items too numerous to mention. Soykan did not order enough tile for the floor and he took more than 2 weeks to get the tile. The tile came from Connecticut, he could have driven there to get it. The job got off to a bad start. The job started on Monday, April 2, 2018 and they did the demo for two days. They didn't show up for work for the next 3 days and I had to call them to find out if they were coming to do the job. They used my garage as a dump, treated my home like garbage and left junk all over my driveway after the dumpster was removed. I have asked Serhat Soykan for a refund of $15,000 of what I have paid him and his counteroffer to that was for me to pay him $15,000 to renovate a bathroom in my home saying it would be a discount of $5,000 from the regular price if it was done in December when he is slow. His comments to me are that the kitchen is beautiful. My response is that it is beautiful because the components that I chose are beautiful. I paid for licensed, skilled tradesmen and I did not get what I paid for. I will be filing a complaint with Suffolk County Consumer Affairs.

    Island Homecraft
I have had conversations with friends and family over the years who are also homeowners, and we all agreed finding a reliable contractor is not the easiest task to accomplish. Dan from Island Homecraft is the exception to the rule. We hired Dan and his wonderful crew to renovate our 30 year old bathroom. Personally, I do not like the inconvenience associated with home renovation work. This was not the case with Island Homecraft. From start to finish Dan's crew did their utmost to make sure there was as minimal amount of the usual debris and mess associated with this type of work. Dan made it clear during our first meeting that he coordinates the work with his crew, would come by each day and review the previous days work, and let us know what to expect the following day. Dan made suggestions on changes we should make and listened to our suggestions on what we were looking for. We have some other projects down the road that need to be accomplished, Dan and his Island Homecraft crew will be the only ones we call. No need to look any further. Thanks again to Dan, John, Keith, and the rest of the crew for a great job.

GARY THE OWNER'S STEP SON WAS POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL AND SPOKE KNOWLEDGEABLY AND IN DETAIL ABOUT THE JOB . HE  MENTIONED SEVERAL IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE JOB THAT NONE OF THE OTHER CONTRACTORS MENTIONED . GARY CAME BACK TWO DAYS LATER TO DOUBLE CHECK ON HIS APROACH AND WITHIN TWO DAYS HE HAD PROVIDED ME WITH A ITEMIZED , DETAILED ,I MEAN A DETAILED QUOTE SHOWING EVERY ASPECT OF THE JOP AND THE COST OF THE INDIVIDUAL TASK. AS WELL AS A LIST OF REFERALS AND A PORTFOLIO OF PREVIOUS JOBS .

I HAD THREE OTHER CONTRACTORS COME AS WELL FOR A QUOTE . EACH  WAS FURNISHED WITH A FULL SET OF ARCHITECT DRAWINGS. THEY ALL  TOOK THREE TO FOUR WEEKS TO PROVIDE A QUOTE .
ONE CONTRACTOR FROM THAT OTHER WEB SITE WASN'T EVEN CLOSE WITH HIS QUOTE AND DID NOT SEEM VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE . THE REMAINING TWO WERE  NOT THAT CONVINCING THAT THEY WHERE EQUIPPED TO DO THE JOB AND WOULD MOST LIKELY BE SUBBING  PEICES OF THE JOB RESULTING IN ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE TRAMPLING IN AND OUT OF YOUR HOME,NOT TO MENTION ALL THE DELAYS,WAITING FOR THIS GUY AND THAT GUY ! AND WHAT ABOUT THE OUTCOME?

I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT KENTSTRUCTION'S CREW. GARY ,ALEX, BILLY ,RONALD AND EDGAR . THEY ALL HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR KENTSTRUCTION FOR I BELIEVE 17 YEARS OR SO AND ARE VERY DEDICATED AND HAVE ALOT OF PRIDE IN THEIR WORK AND THEY ARE ALL MASTER CARPENTERS. IT'S IMPORTANT TO THEM TO DO THE MOST PROFESSIONAL JOB AND LOVE TO SEE THE CUSTOMER HAPPY.
UNFORTUNATELY YOU DO NOT SEE THIS MUCH ANYMORE AND THIS SHOULD BE COMMENDED WITH A KIND GESTER AND A TIP TO SHOW SOME APPRECIATION.
THEY NEVER MISSED A DAY AND EVEN SHOWED UP ON A WICKED RAINY DAY TO COVER THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE WHERE SIDING WAS MISSNG JUST IN CASE THE RAIN BLEW THAT WAY !
GARY WAS EASY GOING AND WE WORKED WELL TOGETHER WITH ALL THE SMALL CHANGES YOU CAN'T AVOID ALONG THE WAY.
IN THE END MY FAMILY FRIENDS,NEIGHBORS AND I ARE AMAZED WITH HOW GORGEOUS IT ALL TURNED OUT AND AS A BONUS IT WAS A STRESS FREE PROCESS . THAT IS PRICELESS !!
ONCE AGAIN I THANK KENTSTRUCTION FOR DOING SUCH A PROFESSIONAL AND SUBURB JOB !!

REF Home Improvements and Handyman Services
This is the second time I have contracted with REF and once again my expectations were exceeded on all fronts. The quality of work is nothing short of excellent, a testimony of Ritchie's knowledge and experience in the field. Each of the things that needed to get done were addressed meticulously and with care. I am also very impressed with Ritchie's level of professionalism, he is very trustworthy. Ritchie started the job and worked every day until the job was finished, except for a 2-day hiatus as we waited for the backordered door. In addition he picked up on a gutter-related problem on the porch and proactively fixed that too, no charge. I also want to send a big thanks to Andrea as well who handles the phones in the office. I really appreciated the callbacks and the touchbases when we scheduled the job, thanks Andrea!
Can't thank REF enough. They are a pleasure to work with and the results are fantastic. Will be calling them again.

START TO FINISH CONSTRUCTION/BD GENERAL CONT INC
We needed a couple of jobs done:  rebuilding part of our wooden front steps,  and measuring and installing custom-made storm windows on our old house.   Bruce was professional, prompt in responding to our calls, and very expert in his approach.  The windows in particular required meticulous measuring and recording of measurements for the manufacturer.   He then installed the windows promptly when they were delivered, making adjustments as needed and sticking with his original estimate even when the job turned out to be somewhat more complicated.  This whole process from measuring to ordering to installing  was rather involved and he stuck with it, making it as smooth as possible, and being flexible in his own scheduling to meet our needs.  We were thoroughly satisfied with Bruce's work and he was always courteous and professional. He also appreciates old houses and that is a nice difference from some contractors. Would certainly recommend this company and would use again.

REF Home Improvements and Handyman Services
Richie did a tremendous job. My wife and I are so happy with his work. We're already planning our next project for Richie. Many thanks to Angie's List. For 10 years my wife and I discussed remodeling our bedroom; the only room in the house we never touched. Knowing the job was too big for me and how hard it is to find a contractor you can trust, I decided to join Angie's List with the hopes of finding such a contractor. After signing up, I started my search. I only focused on and quot;Aand quot; rated contractors / Handymen with positive reviews. I contacted several contractors via email through Angie's List including Richie from R.E.F. The first contractor, a very nice older gentleman, showed up on-time, but our ceilings were too high for him. The second person never showed up and then there was Richie from R.E.F.. From the first day he arrived for the estimate, we knew we had a and quot;winnerand quot;. Richie was honest, professional and had the right experience for our project. We could tell by his ideas and suggestions he offered aligned with what we were looking to achieve; especially when it came to our bedroom closet.
Phase 1 was to remove the wallpaper from one wall that also had water damage in one corner that affected the ceiling as well. Richie's plan was to remove the wallpaper and skim coat, but soon realized that was not going to be the case. It was decided to replace the sheetrock. Richie skim coated all walls and ceiling, primed and applied one coat of paint. Oh, and he has the coolest machine for sanding that virtually leaves not dust.
Phase 2 involved putting new window sills, moldings in and around the windows and replace the floor moldings. Phase 3 was the bedroom closets. Here is where we relied on Richie's carpentry experience. We had two average sized closets and with Richie's suggestion we decided to redesign the closet into one large closet that included a closet storage system in the center to provide separation and more hanging space. Richie reframed the closet walls and raised the ceiling to allow for a second row to hang clothes. After that was complete, there was an idea to convert about 3 feet of empty space above our closet into a storage space. At first Richie was unsure if it was possible, but while raising the ceiling he was able to determine it was possible. This was a complete custom job from framing the area to building doors that included a cut out to match the new bifold doors.
Phase 4 was the finale. Richie applied the final coat of paint to the walls, moldings, doors, caulked, installed closet storage system, hung new door, hung new shades, and took care of all touch ups as needed.
Overall the project to about 3 weeks to complete. I should note that both my wife and I work so Richie was very accommodating working with our schedules.
All I can say about Richie and R.E.F., you won't be disappointed.

    Flanagan Contracting Inc
very well -- they take great care to understand the customer, all the details, all the particular aspects of the project. They come forward with appropriate suggestions and custom solutions for all problems and spend time to discuss all reasonable alternatives and propose very nice and meaningful ones. Then the work is performed with great care, at a good pace, and the follow-up is very detailed and conscientious. Flanagan et Co. stands behind all its work and makes sure everything is done at a high quality and competitive price, taking one project at a time and completing it within the deadline. For our work we did have a hard deadline (before School started...) and Flanagan et Co gracefully accepted the deadline and carefully managed to finish everything in time. They are very accommodating and very hard working, leave a clean place behind at the end of every day, and all of them are very friendly and respectful.

    Flanagan Contracting Inc
The owner (Jim Flanagan) is a truly special person: he listens very patiently to all the requests, questions and suggestions, comes with his own ones, carefully works with the customer to design the right plan and then, every day on the job, personally does work and coordinates the other people, who are all as gentle, professional and careful as himself. Amazing. Every day, from start to finish, with great care and gentleness for everything else in the house, and with great professionalism.

    ALL ASPECTS HOME IMPROVEMENT
Anthony Litsch, the contractor, was great. He provided a realistic estimate at the outset, was available by email and telephone and always returned our calls. The initial work--gutting the old bathroom--was essentially finished in one to two days. Clean-up was very thorough every day, and we could pretty much count on things being done when we expected them to be. When we wanted a change--like substituting and re-locating the ceiling fan light fixture with a ceiling fan, Anthony removed sheet rock he'd already installed on a Saturday (!), without charging extra. The tiler and painter worked separately on different days after the sheetrock and insulation were installed. The painter was generally not as competent, and was sloppy--the only one we had to clean up after. The tiler did very nice work and was able to complete caulking and grouting to our specifications, which were pretty picky. The whole job took about twelve days, in part because of changes we wanted. We felt confident after the first day that we could leave the house open and that pets/furniture etc. would be there when we came home.
