  • My wife and I hired Gaudioso Contracting In the middle of October, to update our second floor master bathroom. We own an attached, 1936, Tudor-style home. The bathroom was from the original construction and was in dire need of renovation?the catalyst being a leaky shower that damaged the kitchen ceiling below.

    After about a year of research, dozens of sketches, and more than a few interviews with potential contractors, we finally hired Anthony to bring our vision to life.

    Anthony?s foreman, Luis would ultimately handle the job. Luis and his team did an outstanding job and were very pleasant to work with. They were punctual, polite, and hard working. Although, not always on site, Luis was only a phone call away, and was always able to address any questions or concerns.

    The job was extensive. It took 2 months, from demolition to final touches?like installing the thermostat for the radiant floor heating. The bathroom was a full gut renovation down to the studs. We went with Travertine tiling from the floor to the ceiling, a double vanity, a separate shower with glass door, a freestanding soak tub, and additional outlets. We also installed an exhaust fan, something sorely missing from our original bathroom. We added recessed lights, vanity lights and a chandelier. We installed built-in cubbies in the shower and bath areas. We built a custom linen closet with mirrored doors, and installed new entry doors and molding. We replaced our old antique wood window with a new fiberglass casement window and refurbished the framing on our stained glass, decorative window. We were very happy that we got to keep that. We thought it was a lost cause.

    In our kitchen, we reset some loose tiles and repaired the ceiling, which had been damaged by the leaky shower.

    I did have a few issues. One of them was that some mortar adhesive had dried on the surface of the floor tiles, which made it look rough and stained. Anthony, and Luis worked with me to resolve the problems, which I truly appreciate.

  • The worker was on time, told us how much the jobs would cost, went out to Home Depot to buy the materials needed, came back, and fixed the floor and window. They cleaned up after themselves and never stopped for a break until the work was done.

  • On September 30, 2013, Vinnie of Trademark arrived as promised. He took measurements of the basement and indicated that the job would require 360 ft. of ceramic tiles. He also indicated that the job is small and would take two (2) days to complete at most. Vinnie quoted me a price of $4,700. I told him it was too expensive for a small job that he said, could be done in two days. He then quoted $3,600 and started to write up a contract. He indicated Trademark required $1,200 now, September 30, (a third of the cost) as a down payment and when he brings the tiles and start the work on Wednesday, October 2nd, Trademark would require a second $1,200. On completion of the job, Trademark would require the balance of $1,200. I gave Vinnie a check in the amount of $1,200 on September 30th which was cashed on October 1st. He asked when he could start. I told him anytime that week. He instructed my husband and I to go to All Standard Tile at Jamaica Avenue and 214 Street and tell them Vinnie sent us. On Tuesday October 1st, my husband and I went to All Standard Tile Corp., to select the tile. We told the salesman, Vinnie from Trademark sent us. He said he does not know who Vinnie is. However, we selected the tile and called Bill Lynch, General Manager of Trademark, as per Vinnie’s Instruction, to let him know we selected the tile. Bill said he would pick up the material the following day. The job specification was to remove and replace existing 6 x 6 oak tiles in basement and install wonder board on plywood; install 360 ft. ceramic tile floor; supply grout and clean up. I called Trademark several times until they stop taking my calls. This went on from October to November. On one occasion when I asked to speak with Bill, the secretary told me he was unavailable. I asked her for his last name, she refused. I told her she will be an accessory to fraud. Bill came on the phone. He told me there was a big power outage on Long Island and he was unable to return my telephone calls He also said my job is a small job; what am I worried about, if I think that is any money he would get himself in trouble for; that the job only takes two (2) days. On Tuesday, November 12, Bill Lynch called me at 2:00 p.m. to say he would call me again in 20 minutes. He called back at 3:10 p.m. and requested that we select the tiles from Auction Outlet in Ozone Park. He said, he would be sending someone the following morning, Wednesday, November 13, at 7:45 a.m. he sent Audee from Trademark who came and remove the old tiles. I had to supply Audee with construction bags. The construction bags with the old tiles and plywood are still piled on the side of my house like a junk yard. November 15th Audee from Trademark came at 8:00 a.m. and took the tools he left in our basement. The debris is still at the side of my house. My home is in total disarray. Today, November 25, Trademark has not called about the job or made an effort to return the $1,200 they received on September 30, 2013. I am therefore, requesting a refund of $1,200.

  • I have no complaints it was a good experience they allowed me to pay as the projected moved along so it wasn't bad it worked out great for me being that this is time consuming work the payments was spread out over weeks. So I pretty much had control over the project which I ended up paying a little more for because I wanted nicer hardwood flooring than what we had originally decided. Thought it would of been a problem but the packed it up returned it to home depot and they followed me to flooring place and picked it up no attitude whatsoever, even though we made them lose a few days, I felt so bad sorry guys! :) I love my house even more now.
