    Lecla Home Improvements LLC
Luis and his crew at Lecla were outstanding... From the estimate all the way through to completion, this was a great experience. They offered good recommendations, had a great selection of materials, pricing was clear and fair, and Luis answered all my questions and concerns. Most importantly, his crew showed up when they said they would, they worked consistently and were courteous, considerate and thorough in their efforts before, during and after the job. I highly recommend them for any roof repair or roof replacement project. I was so satisfied with the results, I'm considering Lecla for siding/window replacement on our home as our next project.

    Cobalt Blue
Marco and crew are always my first choice, when I can get them. As always, the work was fast and first rate. They were clean and organized and always kept to their schedule. If they said they'd arrive at 9, they arrived at 9. They cleaned up at the end of each day so that life could go on and gave me a very fair price for a big job. Now that it's done, I couldn't be happier with the work. Highly recommended.

    Westbrook Contracting, LLC
If you are looking for great contractor, look no further than Dave Perrota and his team at Westbrook Contracting. Work was meticulously done. My bathroom is just so beautiful. It looks like a showroom! Dave is honest and very conscientious. He keeps you abreast of what is happening each & every day and stops by often. All workers are friendly and respectful of property. They clean up every day. I plan on hiring Westbrook in the near future when I redo my kitchen.

Genesis and his team did a great job peeling off old wallpaper and painting our bedrooms. Their work is very detailed oriented and his service is highly professional. I would recommend him without a doubt.

    Jireh Handyman LLC
They did an excellent job. The work quality was great and they made sure to take care of each area I pointed out. Even a few random holes in had in a few walls. They came on time and performed the work in the time frame that was specified. The also cleaned up well after the job.

    Paint Track Painting Services
I always look at three or for vendors for each project and this one was no different.  Ray and his firm were referred by Mike Cahill, the GC we used to replace our interior doors and other projects around the house.  Ray was on time to our initial meeting and even did a follow up with his proposal.  Ray's price was above the other vendors, but I was extremely impressed by his organization skills, use of project management applications, and standard operating procedures he has written about almost every process in his business.
I have hired several general contractors over the years for our home and I hate when one person comes to the house and listens to the project and then sends in his or her tradesmen to do the job.  At which time I spend the majority of my day telling them what to do because the communication between the GC and his/her tradesmen was simply nothing.  THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH RAY.  He uses a mobile project management app that each of his guys have on their phones.  This way communication is absolute and items actually get checked off the list by the guys that do the job. (Leaving me to actually work instead of manage the project)  Also there is an onsite time clock which each of the guys check in and out with on a daily basis so Ray knows who is working, at which project and when.
As for the painting and prep work it was done extremely well.  I had to tell Ray once what colors and where to use them, and when we changed colors mid project he reworked the contract with us.  His guys literally had to repaint a very large portion of the project because we received a poor color recommendation from a housing stager.  There were no complaints from his men or him and they just tackled it in stride.
Overall we are VERY happy with the result and would use Ray and his firm again for sure.  Thank you Ray!

White Oak Building & Design, Inc
Roddy was very responsive in helping me with a small project at my father's condominium. He corresponded clearly and promptly over e-mail and arrived to assess the project on time in person. Roddy clearly explained what he believed needed to be done regarding the project and the best way to proceed. The actual work went smoothly and was completed in a short amount of time. Both my father and I are very happy with the work and thank Roddy and his staff for a job well done. We won't hesitate to contact Roddy again for other work.

    George Apap Painting
We had scheduling issues along the way, where he would not have anyone scheduled to come and workers would just show up, or he would schedule work to be done and the workers would come on another day.

The original Bilco doors delivered to my house were also incorrect, and the correct doors were installed weeks later.

Furthermore, the brick stone floor under the pergola was splattered with white paint stains. On the back deck step, there is also a brown paint stain, and I was told by the mason that this cannot be fixed.

Their billing was also haywire. I tried several times speaking to the representatives from Apap, but I had to correct several billings along the way.

They put in a new window rather than repairing the old window. This work was incorrectly noted on the Capital Improvements form and has since never been corrected, which can cause issues for me down the road if I want to sell the house. According the Kate in the office, the extra money I paid in August, so everything that was stained or painted brown, was what I was to be charged in mid-August, leaving only the white paint parts left. The only thing that is really a Capital Improvement is the side deck as it was an entirely new portion of the deck. The painting and staining of the front porch and back deck should not have been included in the Capital Improvements form, and Kate said billing would remove it, but this has not been completed.

The carpenters blew out the circuits in my house when doing the deck work. Apap said I would have to pay to have an electrician to come out to fix the issue even though his workers were the ones who caused the issue. When the electrician came, after he checked everything out, he said Apap was paying for it. This is just another example of the miscommunication and unnecessary aggravation.

All areas that were to be painted white, including the deck railings surrounding the house, the fence around the generator and air conditioning unit, the arbors, and the trellis/pergola were not finished or were done poorly. Most of it was not done at all, it was just dirty and not-treated. The bottom part of the garage foundation is the only part that looks like it was done correctly. The white paint on all other parts were blobs of paint surrounded by dirt, mold, or not even touched. I will have exposed wood during this upcoming winter, and I will need have to have all of this work re-done in the spring of 2016.

Fundamentally, the problem is that nothing was cleaned before it was painted, or it wasn't painted at all, leaving exposed wood. We had previously discussed that I wanted the house to look clean and fresh, and after the painting was done poorly, George Apap advised that they don't clean as part of their normal prep.

In addition to the work being incomplete and poorly done, they are now saying I owe them $2600. Not only do I not owe Apap any money, but I believe they owe me money as the mistakes George Apap made first need to be corrected, and then re-done, next year.

Update 2/5/2016: Apap has since contacted me indicating that they "will write off the claimed balance if you remove all negative posts on social media (Angie's list etc) and agree not to make any further posts."  I wouldn't agree, and they are now following through with a subpoena to appear in court.

    Chagall Painting LLC
Larry did an excellent job as he always does. I used Chagall to paint the entire outside of my house last year. Very conscientious, clean, careful and trustworthy. Also very good value. There are probably painters that are a little bit cheaper, but I'm sure they would not be as professional or offer the quality of Chagall.

    Hudson Pro Contracting Inc
It was okay.  It wasn't great.  They were professional and courteous.  They were clean and neat but they were rushing the job and took short cuts that were obvious like not moving light plates and painting on the fixture.
