Exterior Contractor reviews in South Ozone Park

    Innovation Construction NY Inc
I'm incredibly disappointed in the quality of work. This is a company that advertises itself as specializing in historic home repairs, which is one of the reasons I chose them over another contractor. If this weren't Angie's List, I would swear the positive reviews here were scams. The scope of the job was to fill in cracks and repair damage to stucco, apply waterproofing and to repoint my front and back steps. It took about four weeks to complete. My brand new gutters and downspouts are now smeared with waterproofing - they did not remove the downspouts to fill in the cracks underneath before waterproofing and, on top of that, they slopped waterproofing around behind the downspout instead of putting a thin piece of cardboard between the gutter and the wall to protect the metal from paint. When I asked if they could remove the paint, the contractor shrugged and said it was only noticeable if you were looking for a problem and paint remover would only make it look worse. The repointing of the stairs is embarrassing. The mortar was slopped in and not pointed neatly. The contractor blamed it on bigger spaces between the brick than they were used to (my house was built pre-1940's). At my insistence, they tried to clean it up a bit, but I'm still very angry about the result. I would never hire this company again. If this type of work were not their specialty, I would have preferred they shared that upfront.

    Book A Crewe
Good Afternoon, to whom this may concern: My wife and I after careful consideration, choose Lowes as our fencing installer. We signed contract on or before 5/19/2018. We were told installation would take a little over a week. We were told by Kemar Coley the sales rep, 5 days for delivery of goods and another 2-3 days for installation. Book-A-Crewe was selected as our contractor. We are located in South Ozone Park, Jamaica Queens N.Y. This company is from upstate N.Y. Westchester the town of Mount Vernon approx 20 miles away. Consequently, we are in 4 weeks of fence installation on a very small property located in South Ozone Park Queens. For one thing, the materials arrived on 6/13/18, however; the concrete was missing, and we had to wait several hours for the concrete to be delivered. (not book a crewe fault) As a consequence, the installer began work on 6/14/18 he arrived at 2pm and left at 8pm. I asked why so late? And why only two of you? One woman and one man, I told him you need at least 3 people two working and one supervising the work. The installer stated the woman was the SUPERVISOR. They began working and I noticed she had no work clothes or boots. She was working sometimes in her bare feet. She was working on the back of her sneakers. They did the best they could with the materials that arrived. The cement arrived 6/16/18 at 1:30pm. This time three installers showed up, with one complaining about working behind the woman whom the man believed was the other installers girlfriend. He told me privately they should have picked him up first. (I agree). They were able to complete most of the gate but not all, because the installer noticed the transition fence/swoop fence was not delivered. He states this may take a couple weeks to back order. I also noticed the gates were DENTED but put up anyway, and the Lattice was put in backwards (not in sync) with the other Lattices. My wife and I began supervising because we cannot afford another day off work between the funerals and the small construction going on at the house we are out of days. Let me put this in perspective for those reading this; during this time we have had two deaths in the family, my wife grandmother went first. (She was elderly and this was expected). 5 days later my wife Mother passed as well. (This of course was unexpected). With this in mind, you know how hard it is to have a repass or anything at my home with construction going on that was really simple and should have been completed long ago. LOWES, I feel embarrassed that I suggested to use your services as I was told to use Angies List like we did for the cement. I called the store, some people tried to help. I am now waiting for a call from a Crystal Brown manager @ Lowes on Avenue U. However; I spoke with a Sharon Jones apologized and said she would let me know when the materials will arrive. I called Book a Crew spoke to Mr. Mohammed, and explained the crew left all this garbage on the side of my house and wood logs exposed to rain and theft. Mohammed stated Mr. Baroney Lewis will arrive wed, June 20th to correct the issue. Lets see what happens. Very Irate Customer Mr. Murphy.

    Power Home Remodeling
Everyone was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. The windows were well designed and installed in a day. The sidings and capping took about a week to install. A bit pricey but the quality of the product is great. We had to do minor follow up adjustments but the contractor was easy to work with and was able to return to fix. Lifetime warranty and you can call them and get in contact with them without a hassle. No runarounds!! Overall a good job.

    Imperial Contracting of NYC Corp
It was okay. However, I still have not received receipts for the materials used. I looked at a receipt briefly and he wanted it back for his records. I asked him about a charge for a trowel (they are reusable) and he said that there was some sort of misunderstanding on that. I let it go until I got an email with the receipt in it. So far, nothing after repeated requests. I am not sure what the issue is there. Second point, he did not provide a long ladder that could reach the roof so that the minor leak could be taken care of expeditiously. We had to wait approximately 1 1/2 hours for it to arrive. If Imperial Contracting got their money up front (for the whole job) and their ladder is on another project, then it's time to rent a ladder from Home Depot for a couple of hours and bring it back when the job is done. On the other hand, the worker that was assigned was knowledgeable and ready to work. He was quick in completing what needed to be done. The person who was the supervisor was friendly and attentive. The question is the resources available. In conclusion, when there is a business deal then both parties are in each other's orbit for that period of time. It's good that you have technical skills to get the job done, but paperwork flows from everything. There is a reason paperwork is there and is being requested.

    Charles Stewart Roofing
Needed a gutter to be replaced along with a vinyl fascia board. There was also a small slate roof that needed to be replaced. It was replaced with shingles that were the same color. Drain pipe was cleaned out.
On the front of the house, it was power washed and then whatever loose mortar was replaced. Then a gloss silicone sealant was applied. The front stoop was cleaned and filled. And the concrete sidewalk was also power washed.
The team did an outstanding and excellent job. I would most definitely recommend them.

    LUIGI COTUMACCIO MASONRY CONTR
Luigi was extremely knowledgeable, professional and courteous throughout the entire process of this project. They cleaned up the job after they were done. Unfortunately, the walkway job did not materialized due to an overgrown city tree root that has overgrown on the surface of my walkway. Once this is resolved with the city and there is no obstruction in the pathway, he promised that he would return and take care of it. Overall, Im satisfied with his work. I highly recommend him and his crew.

    Surface Resto Inc
Luis pressure washed all windows, glass doors, and soffits all around the house.  He also pressure washed my brick fence which was black with mildew.  He patiently washed and cleaned my concrete ramp which now looks like new.  He was very meticulous and spent a lot of time to get the work done very well. Kudos to Luis!

    Nunez Construction and Painting
It went very well. Contract was emailed outlining project and cost with start date and estimate of time it should take. Crew showed up right on time both days and were very courteous. I was very impressed by the skill of their cementing, particularly with the care they took to cornering and laying lines straight and sanding it down to a smooth finish. They were also very neat, cleaning up after themselves and left the area spotless.

    City Suburb, Inc.
The contractor said this work could be done in two days. I was amazed at the speed in which the steps were demolished in one day. Not only that, but new steps were already being laid the same day.
The contractor and his crew did a thorough job and cleanup was extremely precise and the work was finished in record time.
I will be calling City Suburb, Inc. again for additional work.
    Thanks guys!!

    J & B HOME IMPROVEMENTS
everything went well.  The last thing that was done was my driveway.  It had started to rain as they finished the cement.  The outside of the driveway was covered with a tarp due to the rain.  The driveway cement has marks on it from the tarp that was used.
