    Everything went well. He overcharged patients. I had wonderful insurance and then he charged me an astronomical price, outside of my insurance. It turns out that I paid him way, way too much. They were very professional. Everything was great with Aspen. I really liked them. They're closed. I would use Aspen Dental again. The staff was wonderful. The waiting room could have been cleaner. I had to wait no more than 15 minutes for my appointment.

    Notwithstanding the above impass which their 'powers that be' have enforced for a year and a half at this point, - as far as I was allowed to get in my treatment plan with them: I was not only better informed as to my options, I was also very impressively, reasonably given to understand that my previous dentist was actually either misinformed or perhaps even mislead me to believe that my first choice of partial bridge materials was less ( as opposed to more) expensive than the time-honored old metal type which the prior dentist said was the ONLY type which my insurance would cover completely (+ the latter part of the prior misinformation proved an outright misleading falsehood on the part of one Dr. Guesmia of and quot;Gentle Dentaland quot;). The clerical/reception staff have not been especially amiable nor necessarily following any apparent protocol of customer is 1st order of service but they do their jobs quite well enough as far as I can tell from only 3 visits thus far. Fairly considerably more than we can say for most around this region, for starters--can't base good practices upon incompetence after all, no matter how 'friendly'. and I honestly would rather be treated matter-of-factly, so to speak than be winsomely guiled by reception only to find that my coverage is paying for any practices' 'nice' 1st impression appearances, which proves such cloying charm is merely a cover for general incompetence in the paper-work and scheduling best; far more often than not the case as far as all such concerns of and quot;friendlinessand quot; may go in my experience. I do not go to a professional physician's office to make and quot;friendlyand quot; any more than I would go to the local social clubs to have my health issues seen to. It is mainly the still-unfortunate child-like, childhood abuse victims and outright hypochondriacs who require such personally smiling acceptance or even desperately seeking reassuring coddling where ever they're paying the tab as the case may be. The more mature and 'mentally sound' patient does one's best not to assume the least of the general public's 'attention deficit' does one not? Dr. Serrano and her dental assistant were very good at their work, and they certainly have above average understanding, and communication skills as well as being quite gentle and even good natured in their personal disposition toward a reasonable yet particular patient. The dental hygienist I saw was certainly well-enough competent at her handiwork, and I left with quite noticeably improved grin, which one always appreciates considerably. My only difficulty was being spoken to or even regarded like a child rather than a middle-aged man worthy of more mature respect throughout at least half of the procedure. Of course, one understands that some professionals are in fact best with the young and simple as not all are suited to any more sophisticated clientele--so though it was a bit disconcerting and bothersome, it was a mere trifle in this instance given the adept results. However, again, as usual everyone's subjected to unasked for commercial media input in their waiting room which has apparently become the 'industry' norm these days. Not only cable television, but p.a. music also AT THE SAME TIME no less, 2 out of my 3 visits I was so kindly allowed to schedule and managed to keep for myself. ~ J.C.
