    Small Moves Long Island
I was very pleased with this company. June was wonderful to deal with and always there with any questions I had, The men were very pleasant and arrived on time the day of the move. I was so pleased that I have hired them again for another move that I'll need done.

    Roadway Moving
Thanks to Roadway our move was smooth and with minimum stress. It was a pleasure to deal with their extremely professional and friendly employees and everything arrived in perfect shape and faster than promised. From my first call on they were prompt, accessible and knowledgeable. Roadway did the full packing for us and also dedicated a truck that moved our stuff directly from NY to Texas. This was an expensive mode of transportation, but we think it was worth it as we care very much about our belongings and this guaranteed zero harm and very fast transport. My first contact was with Adrian, who came to our home and made an accurate estimate of the volumes to be moved. Subsequently he was patient with my very many questions and requirements - I was very worried before I started the process, I was sticking for details and he was always available with all the information and changes that I needed. (thank you Adrian). The packers came exactly when promised and packed up the entire house in a day. They were supposed to move the next day, but knowing how anxious I was about the time table, they actually performed much more than a day's work in a day. They exhibited an outstanding team work and their supervisor, Jose, worked as hard as the others leading and coordinating the team. (thanks Jose). The last lag was the actual transport and delivery- as good as the other parts of the process (I have run out of superlatives). (Thank you so much Lewis). I hope not to move again, but if I do, it will be with Roadway. They are excellent.

    All American Van Lines Inc
In this day & age where people take the time to complain, I wanted to take a moment to commend All American Van Lines. We moved my daughter from LI to Arlington Virginia. Everything went so smoothly. The price quoted was what we were billed at the end - no surprise hidden fees or add ons. The men that came both to pick the furniture up & deliver it a few days later were wonderful. They were extremely careful & conscientious. The men kept in contact with us to give an up to date time to expect delivery. From beginning to end it was a wonderful experience! I just wanted you to know how pleased we were. We will gladly recommend you in the future (& use your services when we move in a few years!)

    SML - Simple Moving Labor
Not entirely SML's fault but they need to vet their laborers to ensure they're reliable. I received a call from the movers 20 mins before they were scheduled to arrive at our loading site. They stated there since it was snowing they would not be coming to help with our move. When I asked why they were only just calling me 20 mins prior to their scheduled arrival, the guy actually said "I don't have time for your attitude." and then hung up. I completely understand the safety aspect of not wanting to drive or work in the snow but it was just a dusting which was scheduled to stop in an hour or so. He didn't even tell me he would arrive later in the day. He just hung up and wouldn't answer any of my follow up calls. I then called SML and explained the situation and they arranged another crew to arrive 4 hrs after our original start time. This delay caused me to have to reschedule the unload since we wouldn't be done until evening and the laborers don't work in the dark and pay for another day on the rental truck. Worked out in the end but what surprised me is that the snow was reported on the news for days and the movers had more than enough time to arrange alternatives rather than call me 20 mins before they were due to arrive.

    Dunbar Moving
Everything was great.  This is the second time I have used Dunbar moving company - first time was three years ago when I moved into my house, and this time was to move some furniture from my sister's house.  In both instances the price quoted was fair, it was honored and they were even willing to throw in a couple other items if need be.  The guys were great...friendly, took the time to chat with my niece and even tried to buddy to my dog who isn't the fondest of strangers (he's a rescue).  I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs to do  full move or even a smaller one.  The house was unmarked, the furniture was carefully wrapped and then setup as we asked.  These guys are a homerun!

    Forward Van Lines
All arrangements were professional and expeditiously handled from estimate through packing and transport, delivery and set up.   I was contacted and established an exact pick up date and time frame. The men were right on time.  Piano was carefully examined and legs removed for transport.  Excellent job padding and wrapping for protection and then crated. I was given approximate delivery date and later, specific day and time.  Proposed delivery date was not convenient and easily rescheduled.  Upon delivery, my piano was unpacked with care by very courteous and careful gentlemen.  Reassembly was delicately done and piano moved to my preferred location.  All packing materials were taken away.  I was thoroughly pleased with all Forward Van Lines personnel, attention to detail and professionalism.

    Dunbar Moving
At first, I thought everything had been done well and the job went fine.  However, a few weeks later, we took additional items to storage and found that one of the piles of boxes packed by Dunbar had collapsed, cascading onto the cement floor with significant glass breakage and leaking liquids.  It was a mess!
Turned out that one worker, in particular, was inexperienced at packing.  His boxes were filled only 3/4 full, with no filler added.  This left an unsupported cavity at the top of these boxes.  When put at the bottom of a stack of boxes, the unsupported cardboard pancaked, collapsing other boxes and pitching everything above onto the floor.  Further, there was very little cushioning of fragile items, and large items were put into boxes that were too small, resulting in domed tops of boxes that were difficult to stack.  It was inevitable that things would break, under these conditions.
We cleaned up the mess, discarded the broken items, and replaced & repacked some of the boxes.  However, there are many boxes that we won't have a chance to inspect until they're moved to our new house, 2,000 miles away and some months from now.  It's likely that there will be further damaged items as the packing was so unprofessional.
Part of the problem was that the crew arrived with inadequate materials: too few boxes overall, not enough larger-sized boxes, and minimal padding materials.  Dunbar-supplied boxes were from Home Depot.  Because the box supply ran out and the crew didn't want to go get more, they also used some of my boxes that I'd purchased from U-Haul.  Those boxes were noticeably sturdier than the ones from Home Depot.
Needless to say, I was NOT happy with the packing job, and I'll never trust my belongings to this company again.  They were good at moving things to storage--took care moving items down steps and into/out of the truck.  So, Dunbar seems to be okay for moving services.  But decidedly not for packing.  No compensation or refund of the expensive fee was offered when we let the owner know about the situation.  I guess this kind of carelessness is par for the course with this company.

    Moving Man Inc
The men showed up on time the day of the move. The foreman was not who we requested and were told would move us. Despite that, things started out fine. The men were courteous, professional and efficient. However, during the move, many items were scratched or otherwise received mild damage. One expensive item in particular was damaged more significantly and taken back by the movers for repair at no cost to us. It was returned to us with a reasonable repair after after two months, though with some new damage which the manager offered to fix. After that, it took another six months for the company to return the item to us, and only after unreturned phone calls, unreturned emails, contact with the parent company, and a letter. The quality of the moving service was fair in my opinion; though they company management fails for responsiveness.

    Countrywide Relocation LLC
This company is pushy and rude.
I just ended a conversation with Joseph (owner/rep?) telling me I was a waste of his time simply because I was trying to negotiate a better deal.
I was contacted by this company to get a quote for my upcoming move to TX.  We went through an inventory sheet and I received a quote.  They were my first quote so I wanted to shop around.  The sales rep, Robert, tried pressuring me to sign up and pay a down payment then and there or the price might go up by $800 or $900 over the weekend.
I have since received other quotes and was contacted by Countrywide again with the promise to beat or match a deal from any "reputable" company.  Joseph then proceed to badmouth all of the competition and refused to budge on his price.  When I balked at the additional cost to insure my goods he then told me he was cancelling me out and I was a waste of his time.
In addition, he claims all of his bad reviews come from his competitors.
They claim that they have only a few negative reviews and that Angie's list means nothing.  They lied about their rating with the BBB.
I would never use this company.  They give me a bad feeling and are very unprofessional.

    Samonas Prime Moving & Storage
Great experience. Brian was very kind and reassuring. Every member of the crew was extremely nice and friendly and knew exactly what they were doing. We were very impressed because this was a huge job. Only one (inexpensive) table was a bit scratched. Everything else was perfect. We will use them again when we move within the next month.
