    Above & Beyond Carpentry Inc.
I cannot recommend Above & Beyond Carpenter and Mark Wirth highly enough. He has exceeded all our expectations and proven himself an expert carpenter and craftsman with high standards of quality, professionalism, honesty and customer service. In fact, I consider Mark to be a member of our family. It is very rare to find a contractor or any professional of his caliber.

It didn't. They cancelled the appointment that THEY made about one hour before they were supposed to show up. This is after receiving multiple emails reminding me of the appointment. They did this TWICE. Apparently, they consider their time more valuable than mine..

    CertaPro Painters of Port Jefferson
I have never been more satisfied with a vendor as I am with the house painting job completed by Skip and his company, CertaPro of Port Jefferson. Indeed, I would, without hesitation, recommend them to anyone seeking a consummately professional job! After receiving a number of price quotes, and based upon on line reviews, I chose CertaPro (whose prices were extremely reasonable and competitive). Skip met with me and thoroughly reviewed what needed to be done and explained, in detail, the step by step process that would be followed. Skip is highly professional and neither patronizes nor pressures customers. The job took six days and primarily involved three workers. Each of the workers were highly professional (punctual each and every day) and kept me fully informed each step of the way. Beyond their obvious technical skills, they were courteous, respectful of my home, and completely trustworthy. Indeed, I felt absolutely comfortable affording them full access to my house as needed without any need of supervision. Skip would periodically review the work and insured that the tiniest issues were addressed. Indeed, on the last day, after my review found nothing that needed attention, Skip and his men spent an hour doing a final review and touch up that was remarkable for its detail and going beyond the "call of duty." The end result: my house looks absolutely beautiful and I am very proud of it. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this company and the men who work for it. It would be hard to conceive of any company that could have done a better job.

Ross and his team are very professional and a pleasure to deal with. They come when they are supposed to and do a very thorough job. Their prices are quite reasonable. We will use them for all of our painting needs

    Yes ma'am decorative contracting
Since moving into our home, we've hired a few contractors from Angie's List. Chris was one of the best contractors we've ever worked with and we would not hesitate to hire him again and recommend him to our friends. He provided us with a very detailed estimate before the job. We asked him to fix 14 rotting window trims and pediments, install a new colonial window casing for a bedroom, install a chair rail for our half bath, and repair and repaint our rotting wood decking boards. Throughout the entire process, he was stellar at communicating when he would be here and when he would aim to get the project done. We couldn't be happier with the quality of his work.

Precision Painting Plus of Long Island
We should have known right in the beginning when the employee scheduled to wash the house came in a truck with out of state plates, didn't speak any English, and didn't remove the shutters to clean. When I expressed my concerns I got a disparaging email from the project manager telling me how dare I question the best rated paint company. A week later they came to prime and did not use tinted primer as in the contract because the project manager told me tinting would decrease the efficacy of the product(?) The workers were all nice people but none of them spoke English and one of them didn't look older than 12 or 13. They proceeded to put oil primer right over all of the old black mold on the cedar. We questioned this and were told again to let the professionals do their job. They then put the solid stain over the primer and before they even got to the second coat the black started seeping through. They got oil primer all over my patios and screens and every week the black on the shingles gets more prominent. I spoke to Benjamin Moore the paint manufacturer and they told me the primer should not have been applied over black shingles. It needed to be cleaned and all black mold removed before priming especially with oil. It is clearly written on the product sheet for the primer used. The oil primer locks in the mold promoting growth and the only way to fix it is to strip it down. They made such a mess painting can you imagine the damage they would incurr stripping? My calls to customer service were fielded to Alex Z who presented himself as one of the owners of the company. He asked the abbott representative to come out. The Abbott representative saw the problems, and was willing to supply product to try to cover the black up. Unfortunately, any trapped mold would only be addressed by stripping and cleaning. We had several companies come to look at this. None of them would give any guarantee unless it was stripped. That will cost 19 to 20 thousand in labor alone. We have made PPP aware of all that is going on, asked for a refund and compensation to undo the damage they caused. No reply yet. Beware. We never knew how much damage could be done with a paint job. Luis Calderon
From the first phone contact through the final handshake I found Luis to be extremely polite, professional and friendly.  He took his time going over the details of the job and stayed in communication with me by phone and email.  This was especially important because the job was delayed due to bad weather.  Luis was able to fit me in the following week.  Rarely am I able to reach a contractor on the phone--I always get voicemail---so not having to play "telephone tag" made scheduling easy.
Luis and his helper Rinaldo arrived promptly on time.  They worked tirelessly on a very hot day, taking only one 25-minute break for lunch.  They cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day.  The exterior of my house now has a clean, even-toned look.  I am very pleased with the quality of Luis' work and the price was very reasonable for the amount of work that was done!  I felt very comfortable with Luis and Rinaldo at my home and would definitely use them again!!!

    Hire A Husband
Mike was, quite simply, the finest worker I have ever hired to do work in my house.  He was, first and foremost, incredibly skilled--able to complete difficult tasks with apparent ease and consummate professionalism.   As importantly, he treated both my house and I with great respect.  He arrived on time each day and devoted himself completely to completing the requested work.  His prices are absolutely fair and he conscientiously documented every penny he spent on materials to complete the work.  Mike is also completely honest and ethical--I felt comfortable leaving him alone for the entire day in my house.  He is also a genuiney pleasant individual.
A small example demonstrates what an extraordinary worker Mike is.  On the last day, beyond the scheduled completion time, Mike, without charging anything, spent a considerable amount of time restoring my wooden porch ffurniture which was in poor condition due to the severe winter.
In short, I say, without reservation, that I will always rely on Mike for any work that I need done.  I  recommend him, without reservation, for any work that you need done.

    Hire A Husband
He was very good.  He was competent and skilled.  He did some difficult stuff and did it pretty well and fast.  I was impressed.  He improvised well because we had broken fixtures that we just have to get rid off but he found a way to fix them.  He did a good job. He did well with what we gave him.
