    I hired this company to do a safety inspection after purchasing a new home. Two people from Fred's came out and did the inspection and informed me that the chimney was in good shape, completely fine and ready to use. I tried lighting two fires once the weather got cold out and my home filled with smoke. I called back to ask that they return and double check their work. On the second visit I was informed that upwards of $1000 in repairs was needed, including a spray liner to fix drafts that were "causing the smoke blowback." I hired a second company for a second opinion and was told the problem is that there was an improperly installed liner in the chimney and this was causing the blowback. The second company solved my problem. I feel that Fred's technicians were dishonest and provided me unsafe advice that could have been harmful to me and my family. I will never consider them again for any job.

    The experience was surprisingly pleasant. We asked around for a referral and every single person complained of being at the mercy of these companies. We used a coupon found on Angie's List for a dual sweep of the fireplace and boiler chimneys. I left a message after business hours that was promptly returned by an incredibly professional and friendly woman named Cheryl. She walked me through the process and followed up as promised. The appointment was on time and the men who came to do the sweep were very polite and professional. We would definitely use Ageless Chimney again as well as refer them to our friends and family.

    Chimney was swept in a clean & efficient manner. Proposed installation of vent caps to prevent animal infiltration - I agreed. I requested also installation of a new lock-top damper & removal of the old rusted one. Had water repellent sprayed on the exterior chimney. The work was all done efficiently, cleanly & rapidly. The total cost was more than I anticipated initially but I think I got good value finally. The water repellent at $189 struck me as somewhat expensive!
    In general I was very happy with the quality & courteous service provided.

    This was a fantastic experience!  A couple of weeks before our house was listed for sale, it became apparent that the front stoop had been damaged by the long, icy winter, and at least two courses of steps were loose and unsafe.  Oscar responded immediately to an estimate request, drove the fair distance to our house and gave us a competitive price.  It was in line with other estimates, but just a bit lower. 

    What really made me give him the job was his willingness to work within our tight time frame.  He and a helper showed up as promised, on time, and did a highly professional job.  Went well beyond what I'd thought would be done (filling the deep cracks) and removed the bricks, cleaned off the old mortar, reseated at least two & maybe three courses of bricks, and remortared.  That would have been sufficient to get a good review from me.  But they went above & beyond...

    Leading up to our stoop is a brick walk with lots more steps. A couple of days before Oscar arrived to fix the stoop, movers schlepped many heavy items down those steps and broke a couple.  I pointed them out to Oscar and asked if he could fix them, as well, for an additional payment.  Made it clear that I understood this was extra, unplanned work and that I was completely willing to pay more just to get them done.

    Oscar not only fixed the extra steps, but he refused any extra payment for them!  I was astonished and grateful for his generosity, and really glad to have all of this work done so well in time for our house to be inspected by potential buyers. 

    As a finishing touch, Oscar & his helper cleaned up thoroughly, and they even coiled our garden hose neatly. Both men were very pleasant and courteous, and a true pleasure to interact with.

    I recommend Oscar and his services highly!  We had a lot of contractors in & out over the course of a year's preparation for selling our house, and Quality 1st Maintenance was one of the best!

    Artie is the consummate contractor. He can do it all and does it well. His carpentry skills are superb. He is smart, reliable and trustworthy. He is meticulous and exacting. His estimates are right on the mark and his prices are fair. He goes above and beyond in every way and freely gives advice about all home-related issues.     It's good. We were very satisfied with their service. They came in a timely fashion. It was easy to schedule. They came to do their estimate. A couple of weeks later, they came back. With a lot of weather issues going on, they couldn’t come back sooner. But when the weather cleared up, they came back and did a repair job. They applied $50 inspection fee as the credit to the repair. My wife is the one who dealt with them more. She said that they were honest. They explained what they were doing. They went over the reasoning why they made the two different recommendations. They did a great job.

    Eddie is fabulous. We had total confidence in his ability to diagnose, explain and repair our masonry problems. He is a consummate professional and his structural engineering background is invaluable. We were extremely happy with all 5 projects. His patio design was right on and his suggestion for paver color was perfect. His expert workmen were prompt, wonderful to deal with and very neat. We couldn't be happier and will surely call him for future work.

    They do not honor their warranty. I tried many times in 9/13 and August of this year(2014) to get them to sweep my chimney,at an additional cost and apply chimney saver if needed. Appointments were made with Courtney and all kinds of excuses were given as to why no one showed up. That is if she even bothered to contact me. It is frustrating to get her on the phone in the first place and messages are ignored. They were given every opportunity to do the right thing. It could not be more clear,since they were not able to rip me off for a second time, they had no intention of ever returning to my home.

    Company responded immediately, and scheduled an installation within a week. Unfortunately, when they arrived they found our roof did not allow the type of gutter guard that was part of the Angies list deal. They provided an estimate for a different kind of guard, but we chose not to have that installed

    Someone from the company came at the time they told us. He took a look at the gutters and said they were a chimney company and not a gutter company and that he couldn't do the work. My wife called the company back to ask for a refund, and the boss sent the worker back to perform the job. He said the deal was only for a certain length of gutter and the bill would be more. We had a approved the extra charge. My wife had to leave for an appointment, but before she left she had asked the worker about the Angie's list deal. He assured her that it would be taken off the invoice. At the conclusion of the cleaning, the worker presented a bill for $313.93. Our babysitter was home and she wrote a check for that amount. When my wife returned, she had seen the invoice and noted the Angie's list deal was not deducted. She called the company, and was told that they couldn't refund the money and we had to contact Angie's list to get a refund of the $129. When I returned, I saw the work was completed; however, the workers had left the garbage from the gutter cleaning in two bags by the side of the garage. I assumed - incorrectly - that whatever material they took out of the gutters would leave with them.
