    My 11 year old (but expensive) washer wasn't draining. He found the problem gave me an estimate, fixed it (new pump) - all in the same visit. He was friendly, didn't pressure me into fixing it, and was clean. The price was fair.

    Nadir came promptly. He diagnosed the problem, cleaned the dryer and replaced the parts. He also offered a 1 year warrantee on the repair. He was personable, knowledgable and I trusted him in the house. I really liked and him and will absolutely call him again and recommend him to family Only small quibble: Work was not inexpensive for the amount of time spent (repair took about 30 min), but I imagine having any appliance professional to the house would be in the similar range. I will absolutely call Blue Ribbon in the future and recommend you do the same. 165 is still much less than having a new dryer delivered and installed!

    I called Mahler Appliance on Saturday morning after discovering that my refrigerator was not cooling. Mrs. Mahler, the owner's wife, was incredibly kind and efficient in scheduling her husband to be there within two hours.  Mr. Mahler, the owner, arrived precisely on time and quickly diagnosed my problem and quoted a price for repair.  I chose to move forward with the repair and Mr. Mahler completed the work in less than an hour.
         The job was done perfectly and the refrigerator was running beautifully upon completion of work.  I should note that Mr, Mahler even cleaned out the areas of the refrigerator  that were inaccessible to me.  He left the work area spotless and took great care to treat my home with respect.
         The price appeared very reasonable and certainly was far better than having to endure the cost and inconvenience of purchasing a new refrigerator.  The initial diagnostic charge ($82.00) was applied towards the repair.  In addition, there is a small discount given for Angies List members.
         Overall, Mahler Appliance Service is one of the increasingly rare owner-operator businesses that provides efficient, personable and reasonably priced services.  I would recommend this company with enthusiasm and without reservation.

    My 3mos. old Frigidaire cooktop stopped working. The unit wouldn't power on. Frigidaire sent Island Wide Appliance to diagnose and fix the cooktop, which was covered under warranty. On 11/05/14 service tech Paul came and checked the unit. He was very professional and took the time to explain what he was doing. He had to order parts from Frigidaire to fix the problem. On 11/13/14 he returned and replaced the power supply board. Within a short time the problem was resolved and the cooktop was working! Paul was excellent and I highly recommend Island Wide Appliance.

    The tech arrived on time and knew just what to do. I found the price high but I think that my annoyance is with GE for making such a klunky piece of equipment. The good new is that GE is selling their appliance business and will focus on aircraft engines and the like. Nothing as complex as ice makers.

    I have been dealing with Smithtown Appliance for many years, maybe 20 or more. Their prices and customer service cannot be beat!


    The advice of Vito senior and junior as well as the mother cannot be beat. They have all given me expert advice about the use and care of my appliances. Case in point: Spring of 2012, I had my kitchen remodeled. I went to them to ask about appliance selections. They asked me to consider a Kitchen Aid Suite. I went with their suggestions and could not be happier. Their pricing was very close to internet pricing. Their after sale service was even better! A few weeks after my kitchen was complete, I stopped at the store to see if I could get a couple of extra shelves for my refrigerator. Vito went to his floor model and gave me the shelves from his floor sample! About a year later, I had a problem with a 4 year old washer I purchased from them. Vito offered a repair suggestion for me and said if it did not work, he would have a new washer delivered the next day. Well, the repair suggestion, it worked just fine. Try getting that service from a PC Richards!

    The most amazing service happened yesterday....My new stove was 2.5 years old....out of warrantee. I had never used the middle griddle burner and the knob was frozen. Vito sent a service team at no cost to me to fix the problem!


    I know that many friends and neighbors share my enthusiasm concerning Smithtown Appliance. Please give them a try!

    I am super impressed by the service I got from JS Appliance and I will definitely be using them again for all my large appliance repairs in the future. My dryer broke this weekend so as soon as I woke up this morning I turned to Angie's list to find a dryer repairman. I'm so glad I chose JS! As soon as I called I spoke to a friendly person who scheduled me in for today,even though I have to go out this afternoon. He managed to work things so that he could come before I had to go out. He came, fixed my dryer quickly and with good cheer and now I have a working dryer before lunch on the same day I first called in for a repair! There is absolutely no way that service can be bettered. Lovely people, quality work and so prompt!

    High-End Appliance
    First visit from HIgh End was service call on in mid August.  Tech said all looked OK and reset fridge/freezer temp controls. Said that freezer drawer gasket should be replaced.  Tech here from High End on Sept. 3 to replace freezer gasket. Not charged another service fee, just paid for part, as second visit within one month.  Started to notice that fridge not keeping temp.  High End returned 9/13 in a.m. to replace part and add refrigerant. I know that refrigerators take a few hours to get cold but after two hours did not feel even a whiff of coldness anywhere in refrig or freezer. Called High End back same day of service to say that fridge not getting cold and that tech should come back.  
    9/13, receptionist answering phone very rude with poor attitude.  No customer service skills. She basically ignored me.  Next morning fridge still not cold.  After many calls in morning, tech came back late in day and changed another part. 
    By that time, I had called another Sub Zero service company to assess fridge as I had a holiday dinner to prepare the next day and wasn't certain if High End would show. I didn't care that I would have to pay another service fee.  I was certain that High End was not servicing the fridge properly.
    New company showed up as High End was just finishing.  After High End left, tech from new company assessed fridge, listened to my account of repairs.  Technician stated that he was doubtful if repairs done by High End were the necessary ones.  New tech stated that the old the refrigerator would most likely need a particular major repair in near future.  
    Today is 10/5 and once again I am playing with fridge controls to keep fridge cold. I will never use High End again, even though tech from new company did confirm that new company's prices were higher.

    NH Ross, Inc.
    The HVAC technician came to our house but he needed to order a part. But then the wrong part arrived. So NH Ross reordered the item but on the technician's next visit, he realized that the fan motor needed to be replaced. The result? We were without AC for the entire month of July during a heat wave. The AC was finally repaired on July 31.
    Coincidentally, the dryer was kaput by the time the repairman arrived on July 31. He noted the problem and immediately ordered the part, a starter. But then Ross office staff was slow to place the order. I estimate that about 2 weeks passed before Ross staff executed the part order. The technician arrived today, 8/30, with the new starter. But our dryer really needed a new timer!! Result? NH Ross has to order a timer and we are without a dryer for another few weeks.
