I go to the Psychiatrist to manage my meds and the Psychologist for counseling. I sing their praises. They really seem to know what they are doing. They are both very good. They are both very good listeners and they seem very professional. The office and staff is very good.

I did not come with expectations that I would be given psychotherapy, as I see a counselor weekly to work on my issues.  He took a pretty thorough history and prescribed medication that has helped me to cope with a clear head.  Dr. Iqbal is professional and takes a no nonsense approach to treatment.  He's not what you would call a warm and fuzzy type.  However, if medication management is what you need, he does this well.

This guy is great. His office manner is really good. He's very knowledgeable. He's very caring and willing to work with the patient. He lets you talk. I read a lot about this lately with doctors. If you don't stop talking within 15 seconds, they are going to interrupt you. I give him an A for everything. He's absolutely the best.

To begin with the Receptionist at the Malta office, the actual counselors and the Nurse Practitioners who managed my medicines were great and if I could deal with them under a different umbrella than Union Street Counseling I would gladly do so.

The first problem that I encountered was a billing problem where they in error billed me an incorrect amount and I paid it. After 4 tries I finally got a hold of the assistant office manage who asked that I fax the information to her and she would let me know how it was going to be dealt with asap. I faxed her the info that same day but never heard anything back. I let this go.

The second problem resulted in my decision to end all relationships with the office.

The office called to reschedule my medication management appointment which resulted in my prescriptions running out and needing refills before the next appointment. The drugstore called/faxed the office 3 times in the week before they needed filling and didn't receive a reply so I called the office and left a message at their and quot;medication refilland quot; prompt explaining the situation, the fact I was out of meds and what they were.

I never received a call and our drugstore never received a refill prescription.

Since they were closed the weekend I waited until Monday to call and speak with someone who promised to get it fixed and that they would call me back to let me know.

I never received a call and our drugstore never received a refill prescription.

On Wednesday and Thursday my husband and myself called and explained that my emotional state was being affected by the sudden change in the medicine (I was not a happy camper and can only begin to imagine what a severely troubled person would go through) and would they please fix the problem and we were promised a solution and a return call.

I never received a call and our drugstore never received a refill prescription.

The next and final call we made we had to leave a message with an answering service who said they would get a hold of someone and have them call us. They never did.

At this point I gave up and called my primary Physician who was kind enough to write the prescriptions for me.

The only time that Union Street Counseling contacted me was a few weeks later to remind me of an appointment. When I explained that I wished to cancel that and any future appointments and why I was asked to repeat the whole story and promised that it would be looked into, and quot;gotten to the bottom ofand quot; and that I would get a call of explanation. Don't ask me why I believed them but I did. A return call was never received.

When we received a bill (for a small amount I had already paid) the following month my husband called and asked to speak to the office manage and was told she was in a meeting but would return his call after. When we did not receive a call back he called them again and was connected to the office manager. He explained the situation regarding the bill and unanswered billing problem and he found himself in a conversation with a rude, sarcastic and defensive person. Being in the room with him I can say that he was animated but perfectly polite and reasonable. The office manager promised him a refund of the over charge if he promised never to call again.

My husband was upset but not combative or rude to anyone and did not deserve to be treated like HE was the and quot;bad guyand quot; in the situation by an office manage. The worse part of the situation is the fact that we are just about the last people to complain about anything having been cursed with an exaggerated gift of empathy. Being left out on a limb in regards to my prescription was unprofessional, unacceptable and just plain mean. Being rude to my very patient frustrated spouse was the last straw for me.
