She is a NP who is better than any MD I've seen in over 10 years.  She is extremely educated and very well at articulating what her thoughts are.  She has been patient with me and has made my life extremely better.  After, CT Scans, MRI's countless physical therapists and chiroprators I still couldn't get any pain relief in my neck.  I do not like narcotics nor muscle relaxers as they just mask the problem and can lead to even bigger problems with chronic pain.  Such as addiction.  After seeing her today in tears and just a mess, she recommended an acupuncture.  THIS HAS MADE MY LIFE SUPER WONDERFUL NOW!!  If your out there searching for answers and find that doctors just give you the run around, I highly suggest you see Marissa.  Not all PCP's have the ability to heal but if you find that one special want to tell the world.  Just give her a try and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Coming from a completely medical family (father internist/cardiologist, mother RN, brother pediatric pulmonology) I know what it is to "give good medicine" and this place certainly knows how.
Albany Gastroenterology is a large group, but that does not mean it's impersonal.  With one small exception, everyone I worked with there was professional, exceedingly kind, and focused on the patient.
I had an endoscopy done.  For those that don't know, that's the little tube camera the goes down your throat and checks out your esophagus and stomach.  Most people are apprehensive, and I was no exception.
Dr. Orris is one of the "big names" there, and while he wasn't jolly/cuddly friendly, he was cordial and very sharp.  His appointment scheduler made sure I could get in quickly but without impinging on my work schedule (I am an entrepreneur who travels a lot; if I don't travel, I don't work and don't get paid).
The experience today was almost flawless.  I had my procedure done in their surgical suite upstairs from their main offices.  The only complaint I had was with their receptionist, who, when I said I was here for an endoscopy, flippantly said "Better you than me." Absolutely uncalled for, unprofessional and unfeeling.  We reported her to a couple of people for a reprimand and some sensitivity training.
But she was the only bad apple.  Lindsay, my prep nurse, was cheerful and very patient with all of my questions.  She paid close attention when I explained I'd had a double mastectomy and that no IVs or blood pressure cuffs could be used on my right arm.  She marked the arm clearly so nobody would make a mistake.  She was the one who placed the needle for the conscious sedation drip, and take it from someone who has had a lot of surgeries and a lot of needle sticks -- it was smooth, easy, and barely a pinch.  She's really good.  She listened to my apprehensions and was willing to work with me with whatever it took to make sure I was willing to go through with the procedure.
Next, we have Paula; another bright and cheerful nurse (but not "fake cheery" -- I know what that's like!), again at the top of her game.  I explained to her that if I was afraid that there were certain key phrases and affirmations she could say to me and it would calm me down.  She loved the idea, took my typed list and clipped it to the front of her materials.    When we got into the surgical suite itself, and I explained that I had trouble with throat-numbing materials, she agreed with my suggestion to "up the Versed" before I took them.
And *PING* that is the last thing I remember!  Apparently I did beautifully.  Could have fooled me; I didn't even know when they started.
Michael, my third nursing partner, was very solicitous and made sure I was warm enough, had water, and was clear in the brain and steady on the legs before I got dressed and went out to meet my husband.
Dr. Orris came by with his findings (how lucky! nothing awful) and instructions, and we were sent home with pretty pictures and descriptions of the procedure, and some instructions.  (Trust me; unless you are a doctor, your insides look pretty weird, but it's always good to have the information for your own medical file.)
This is medicine the way it should be practiced.  No, none of us wants to go through "getting scoped" but these folks can be trusted to do a great job.  HIghly recommended.

I am satisfied with the care my family gets from them. I haven't have any serious medical problem so basically I go for physical examination every year. I am not treated for anything. I have no complains.

Dr. Richard B. Toll has a wonderful bedside manner, he doesn't give out unnecessary medication, he's very thorough, and he is excellent in his field. I've never had any issues with billing and administration.

I injured my back and made an appointment to see Dr. Walsh. I was treated with a muscle relaxant coupled with Tylenol and Motrin.  When the pain did not subside she referred me for x-rays.  Upon receiving the results of my x-ray a recommendation was made for physical therapy.

Dr. Downey is my primary care physician and I have been a patient of hers for several years. Dr. Downey and all of her staff have always been very professional and friendly. Time spent in the waiting area before appointments has always been short, even for last minute sick visits. I have never felt rushed during an appointment and I believe Dr. Downey's exams have always been thorough. Dr. Downey is a great listener and is always interested your health and well being. She is also willing to work with you to find solutions for medical issues and does not push medication as the only solution. On this visit Dr. Downey checked and rechecked my blood pressure, we discussed the medications I was on and other options available and because it was flu season, she also gave me my flu shot. Visits to Dr. Downey's office have always been a positive experience and this visit was no different.

Only checked blood pressure and listened to heart/chest.  Did not check reflexes, feet, etc.  I complained about problems with hand, wrist and arm after surgery.  Doctor did not look at the area.  He did spend a good deal of time going over recent blood test report.  This was appreciated.

Dr. Busino is my primary physician and I highly recommend him. He is an old school doctor in an HMO world who takes the time to actually talk with patients, and his treatment recommendations go well beyond prescribing antibiotics, as seems to be the case with many other doctors I have had in the past. For my particular neck injury caused by improperly carrying a canoe, he recommended several neck and shoulder exercises in addition to medicine, and referred me to a local canoe shop for advice and equipment. We spent a few minutes just talking about canoeing in general and some good local spots to try. I hope I never have to switch doctors again due to insurance. Good doctors are hard to find and dr. Busino and others at capital care are very very good.

Appointment went very well- I recommend an early appointment if possible-seems you may wait a while if you have an afternoon appointment.  Typical physical is a little over an hour - between waiting and actual care.

I started going there for a physical last September. Dr Smitas seems very knowledgeable and caring. Service is prompt and professional. Went there in April when my leg was hit with a line drive and pain and swelling didn't go away in a few days. They saw me right away and worked to get me in for an ultrasound. They were very responsive.
