  • I worked specifically with Michaela O'Brien, PT, DPT who I had worked with for my hip before.  My hips were a bit misaligned, probably from the delivery.  Michaela worked with me based on our previous work to get my hip and core muscles back into shape.  Her plan was tailored to my needs and past experience.  It was a relief to speak with someone who knew my problem and would work with my schedule and abilities.  Now I'm happy to say I'm back to running, biking, yoga and lifting weights and I'm stronger than I was before.  Thanks again for helping me get my life back!

  • Over the years they have improved re technician compassion/bedside manner and staff friendliness. Sometimes you have to wait, but today not long.
I have gone there for several routine and non-routine procedures. Today I had a test done which wasn't pleasant, but the technician, Lynn, made it more bearable.  I feel that she is very thorough and answers questions well.
It's hard enough to go thru medical procedures, but if you have a provider who is empathetic about what you are going thru, it makes it easier. The non-hospital environment of this facility is a plus.
But thought she should have worn gloves for this procedure.

  • Dr. McLaughlin listened as I described what happened to cause my back pain.  He then asked me to perform several movements and describe the pain location and intensity.  From that he suggested where the pain was originating and began a course of treatment.  What impressed me was that he did not put me on a machine and walk away as I have experienced with past physical therapists.  He had me doing movements and exercises while he monitored and adjusted.  After 11 sessions and armed with a repertoire of beneficial exercises, I was essentially pain free.  Since that time, if I experience fatigue or aches in my back, I begin the exercises again and experience relief.
Interesting note:  I had a colleague with a very similar injury that occurred within days of mine.  She went to a different physical therapist who applied heat/ice and put her on machines.  After sessions which continued much longer than mine, she got no relief.

  • I was feeling better after the first session. With her instructions of movement exercises and posture correction, I was nearly pain free by the second session.

The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Insurance explanations were clear. They really worked hard to find appointment times that was convenient for me. It was so refreshing in these days to see freindly faces out front.

  • I've been going there since I was a little kid.  It is a huge building, but they are good in getting back to you.  They are really fast about getting an appointment.  I've never called and not been able to be seen on that same day.

  • They're very convenient. They're located just a couple of blocks away. They're very nice. If you have a health issue, they get you right in. Everybody there was super friendly. Overall, I was very happy.

  • Dr Baldauf is difficult to get in to see the first time but the wait is worth it. He takes the time to do a thorough exam and listens to what you tell him. He identified the problem as arthritis after a thorough exam and did not rush to a conclusion.

  • He is everything that medicine used to be and ought to be.  While he no longer takes insurance, and therefore is expensive, I find his advice, wise protocol suggestions and exhaustive knowledge of integrative medicine to be well worth the price.

  • (Knee replacement at St Peters Hospital. Staph infection and several procedures as a result to get rid of the infection (spacers, IV picc lines, new knee and an a debridement. (staples not totally secure) Ended up with bleeding under the knee cap 4 months after the last procedure and in total pain and misery. Knew about the staph infection a week after the lst knee and had to wait thee months before the knee was taken out. (on antiobiotics that did not get rid of it and another aspiration of 30 ccs of blood which was infected) As a result of the IV medications have ear buzzing for life which is a side affect of the med.(infection then gone) Currently no solution for the pain . the tendon was also torn and had to be repaired twice...The artificial knee is not the same as a routine knee replacement and the prosthesis is about 4 inches above the knee (the infection had spread). Now on tens unit and a muscular . stimulator.... which does not help at all. Dr Abraham does not have any solutions to this situation and suggested that I follow up with my primary dr.. All of my issues for dealing with this pain were not addressed and the answer is that it is going to take time-that answer is not addressing the misery that I have to endure everyday --spasms now all night in the knee cap-- the end result is that there is not a solution from the Dr. as to how get rid of the pain, the burning in my knee cap, etc. Pain medications have not been successful. This whole mess has been going on for over a year - 24/7 of pain and sufferiing. Many visits for this knee issue and never come out of the visits with a solution .

  • He did a good verbal evaluation my first visit, but after that he was aloof and uncommunicative, a "technician."  As my shots were in  the low back, his assistant would prepare me, by having me lie face down on the table and pull my pants down, leaving my behind exposed.  This is how I would remain until he came in, looked at his computor and notes.  I told her repeatedly that I wished to remain covered (no examining sheet) until he was ready to begin, and she was hostile in her refusal to comply.  Then began a tugging war on my underwear.  This happened every time.  The shots did no good, and he never suggested an x ray.  Twice he hit a nerve and I was paralyzed, the first time for a couple of hours.  The second time, he said it would only last 20 mins.  Everyone went home except the female office manager and Kaplan's son, who was working on the computers.  The office manager said I had to call someone to come get me and my two charges, who had come with me.  I said I had no one.  She did not call Dr. Kaplan and tell him what was happening.  She made me call my friend, who had just come home from a hip replacement two days earlier -I'M NOT KIDDING!  to drive her truck to get me, and the two developmentally disabled folk who were with me.  My friend was exhausted by then, and did not go up the stairs to come in with me, but lent me her cane.  I fell in the bathroom, and hit my head on the tub.  I was still without feeling in the one leg at 3 am, when I dragged myself back to the bathroom.  I had a huge bruise on my thigh the next day from falling, and my head had a bump and hurt a lot.  I wrote a letter to Dr. Kaplan and also left a message with a staff who promised to tell him, but I never got response or apology.  The manager harassed me with strange billings f or a year.  She'd bill me, I'd pay, then she'd bill me for the same amount again and again.  I finally  wrote Dr. Kaplan again, stating that his office manager was harassing me, and never got another bill.  I saw my primary, who ordered a hip x ray.  I had bone on bone arthritis and had a hip replacement.  I wrote him a third time stating I thought he'd be interested that I needed a hip replacement.  Although I complained about my hip nearly every time, he said it was just bursitis and he'd work on that later.  I wouldn't send a dog to him.
