Excavating reviews in Schenectady

The work crew were clowns and not at all who I thought I hired. They acted like they did not know what needed to be done and what was said that was going to be done when I got my estimate. A 1 day project turned into a week. They came and went multiple times not knowing what they needed to get the job done. The finished project looked like they didnt care about the work at all. On top of that they cracked my concrete patio and asphalt driveway. They brought plywood but didnt use it. Ive been in contact with them about the damage. Someone was suppose to come out and take a look. Not sure if they came or not. I waited about a month and called. They said they would get back to me. Its been another month and no word so I turned it in to my insurance.

Terry Walters was the best. I would use an A+ if I could. I will use them when I come down to doing the job. He gave me a detail explanation and showed me the camera pictures and details of what was going on with the drain pipes.

This was a big job that required people who really know what they are doing. Matt Morrissey responded to my call promptly and within a day they were on the site to evaluate the job, discuss the options and submit a bid.We had bids from other companies, some higher and some lower but after our initial meeting I had no doubt that Davco would be my choice. He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and involved with the project right from the moment we met. I had total confidence in my choice of Davco for my project. They began the project almost immediately and the completed work was excellent. Real professionals. I have no hesitation with recommending Davco.

The tech came out, gave me a very vague idea of what's happening to the tune of $3400. He said that the break was around a fairly specific point underground. They scheduled the repair, came out in a fairly timely manner. They excavated where they said that they would and "repaired" the pipe (this is just what they told me). They put a camera through the line again to be sure that it was repaired and they said that it was broken in another spot. I called the city to see if it was covered and it turns out that they never got the required permits from the city, they just tried to do a rush job and hide the fact that they were doing anything here. Aside from that they said that there was an additional $6000 in repairs that they had to make, but we could use our plumbing in the meantime until we gathered the money for the 2nd repair because it "wasn't going to be any worse than what it was before". Fast forward 3 weeks (everything working great) we walk outside and there's sewage spewing from the section of sidewalk that they dug up to "repair" the section of pipe. I called Randy (the man that I had been communicating with) to ask if there was any possibility that the pipe had come loose and started leaking. He was EXTREMELY RUDE to me and pretty much brushed off my concerns told me that "our work is always quality and doesn't break" and gave me an "I told you so" and rushed me off the phone. I called the office to request that someone come out and dig up the work that had been done to show me that the pipe was in its proper place and fitted the way it should be moreso for piece of mind that our money didn't just get thrown out the window for shoddy workmanship. The halfway decent office guy "Tom" told me that they would be out with a camera (which had been attempted 7 times before but with no success). So the tech came back out and of course, the camera didn't work. I called Randy back and in so many words he refused to come back out and dig this pipe up to show me that his work was not the problem. Can I just add that this hole is about 3ft wide, 3ft. Long, and 3 ft deep, so it's nothing that would be a huge deal to do, in fact I'd do it myself but I'm pregnant. So as of now we have paid $3400 to be worse off than we were to begin with. We've been told that the work was done but no proof, no photos, no consults through the job. This is just the crappy tip of the iceburg when it comes to this job, there were several times during my interactions with Chris, Randy, Tom, and the tech where they were very short, rude, unorganized, and unwilling to provide any sort of quality customer service. My advice to you is to go with an insured, reputable contractor. It may be more expensive but this has not been worth the money that was "saved" because we still need to replace the entire line also to the tune of $7200.

Larry and Matt were great. I was under a time-crunch, and they were able to move me up in their schedule by two weeks. And, THEY ARE REPUTABLE. I obtained estimates from septic companies in Ballston Lake and Queensbury as well. One tried to convince me that I needed a pumping station (for another $3,500), and the other one tried to convince me that a full engineering plan was necessary (for an additional $1,100). I highly recommend that anyone needing septic work, contact them.

The provider, whose name I will not divulge, was the most professional, polite, and hard-working employee I have ever had the pleasure with which to work.  He calmed me down during a most devastating time, and quickly did what needed to be done.  He removed the old tank quickly and efficiently, and just as quickly installed the new one , ensuring everything was properly lined up, all the fittings were clean and properly sealed, fired up and tested the new tank.  He even waited to see if the water was warming.  All in all, if this gentleman is an example of all this company's employees I don't see any reason whatsoever to ever call anyone else for any future needs.  In addition, their price was extremely competitive even during "after hours" or what most call "emergency or overtime" hours, AND they stuck to it.  They have my full support and my future business.

D & R Paving scheduled an appointment with me to estimate a paving job. I left work early to meet them. I waited 1.5 hours and they never showed up. A simple phone call if they needed to postpone or cancel would have taken two minutes. Obviously their customer's time is not a consideration. Simple common courtesy should not be too much to expect from a business.
I followed-up with a phone call and left a voicemail. I Also sent an email message via Angies List. But D & R Paving never responded. Again, no courtesy to a potential customer. Totally unprofessional.
I have this job and probably a second job and I'm in the process of getting other estimates. D & R ( Don't Respond?) Paving will never be considered.

I have contracted with Bellamy Builders on several occasions.  They have always been responsive, and do high quality work.  They are punctual, and keep the work space clean.  They are trustworthy in all respects.

Demolished and removed most of the debris. Rushed to receive the money stating the job is completed. After inspecting the site I discovered that the work is not 100% done - roof shingles plus other debris for some of the garages were still at the site. The company stated that they couldn't see the debris under tree vegetation and after many calls promised to come back and complete the job in full.

A month later the job is still not completed and they stopped answering my phone calls.

Matt showed up on time and started looking for placement of tank and cover. This was the first time since buying the property that I had the tank serviced. He had one of his workers with a small back hoe in the area so he had him come over and dig where we thought the tank was. One try and the tank was found. They drained the tank replaced the cover and back filled the hole. Matt and back hoe operator were very friendly and answered all my questions regarding the condition of the tank. If I run into trouble, I know I could call them and get an honest estimate of work that may need to be done
