Shanon, is an amazing psychic advisor. Her energy is strong and inviting, I felt so at ease. Everything she described was right on. She gave me messages that helped me heal and be able to realize things are the way they should be, my loved ones that passed are still with me and are around me guiding me. Thank you so much Shanon, you are amazing! Tina R.

Dr. O'Connor was appointed to do a forensic evaluation of my family for a custody change.  Prior to this, I had compiled 18 months of abusive emails, phone calls and videos from my ex-spouse.  Our children had also been seeing a therapist, picked out by my ex, whose opinion was that my children should be with me, that my ex was too emotionally explosive.  My children were suffering emotionally and academically, as evidenced by videos and testimony of school personnel. My ex took one of my children to a behavioral therapist without my knowledge or consent and had him temporarily diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, solely based on the parental evaluation, of which I was given no part, as the therapist didn't have time to formally test him.
Dr. O'Connor set up my appointment in the middle of my ex's parenting time, something my ex was obviously upset about. Dr. O'Connor had to call me because my ex never set up an appointment with her in the first place, so I made the connection for that to happen. My ex's appointment was after 2 weeks of time with my children, of which I was not even allowed to speak with them. Despite all of the hard evidence, and collaterals available, Dr O'Connor found in favor of my ex. It was as though she rushed through the interviews, and wrote a multi-paged report based on nothing more than lies my ex had spouted about me.  While I wasn't allowed to read the report, I was informed that it basically stated my assessments were inconclusive because they were "too perfect." I was informed it was clear she did not use any collaterals, and it was as through she did not even review on shred of hard evidence I provided her.
For this bogus report, I had to front $1700.  And now, two years later, my ex is flexing the beer muscles Dr. O'Connor has provided and suing me for full custody, and inappropriately altering the law guardian's opinion of the situation only speaking to my ex, and not me, favoring my ex. Not only was this report expensive, but the court fees involved in this entire escapade has surpassed tens of thousands of dollars, which all could have been quickly avoided had Dr. O'Connor simply contacted any other person who knows us, or reviewed any documentation provided to her.

I was highly dissapointed with the lack of effort performed by Dr O'Connor. She did not follow-up with my daughters therapist and it seemed as though she blindly took the word of my ex-spouse which was not truthful in any sense. Dr. O'Connor did a disservice to my family by not doing a thorough job with following up with school officials, family therapist, and other doctors that my daughter had been seeing for quite some time. I would not recommend her services as they seem to be quite lacking.

Having only lived in Syracuse area for 7 years and not worked during that time, I had to depend on my EAP that took my insurance to help me find a therapist. The first psychologist had his own issues and the MSW I saw had very little to offer. Jan was a risk but on the third try, I hit a home run.

If you have an appointment you can get in fine. But she is very busy so getting in quickly without an appointment can be an issue sometimes. The office environment is wonderful. She does not except insurance so I have to pay her directly. I will use her again in the future.

To begin with the Receptionist at the Malta office, the actual counselors and the Nurse Practitioners who managed my medicines were great and if I could deal with them under a different umbrella than Union Street Counseling I would gladly do so.

The first problem that I encountered was a billing problem where they in error billed me an incorrect amount and I paid it. After 4 tries I finally got a hold of the assistant office manage who asked that I fax the information to her and she would let me know how it was going to be dealt with asap. I faxed her the info that same day but never heard anything back. I let this go.

The second problem resulted in my decision to end all relationships with the office.

The office called to reschedule my medication management appointment which resulted in my prescriptions running out and needing refills before the next appointment. The drugstore called/faxed the office 3 times in the week before they needed filling and didn't receive a reply so I called the office and left a message at their and quot;medication refilland quot; prompt explaining the situation, the fact I was out of meds and what they were.

I never received a call and our drugstore never received a refill prescription.

Since they were closed the weekend I waited until Monday to call and speak with someone who promised to get it fixed and that they would call me back to let me know.

I never received a call and our drugstore never received a refill prescription.

On Wednesday and Thursday my husband and myself called and explained that my emotional state was being affected by the sudden change in the medicine (I was not a happy camper and can only begin to imagine what a severely troubled person would go through) and would they please fix the problem and we were promised a solution and a return call.

I never received a call and our drugstore never received a refill prescription.

The next and final call we made we had to leave a message with an answering service who said they would get a hold of someone and have them call us. They never did.

At this point I gave up and called my primary Physician who was kind enough to write the prescriptions for me.

The only time that Union Street Counseling contacted me was a few weeks later to remind me of an appointment. When I explained that I wished to cancel that and any future appointments and why I was asked to repeat the whole story and promised that it would be looked into, and quot;gotten to the bottom ofand quot; and that I would get a call of explanation. Don't ask me why I believed them but I did. A return call was never received.

When we received a bill (for a small amount I had already paid) the following month my husband called and asked to speak to the office manage and was told she was in a meeting but would return his call after. When we did not receive a call back he called them again and was connected to the office manager. He explained the situation regarding the bill and unanswered billing problem and he found himself in a conversation with a rude, sarcastic and defensive person. Being in the room with him I can say that he was animated but perfectly polite and reasonable. The office manager promised him a refund of the over charge if he promised never to call again.

My husband was upset but not combative or rude to anyone and did not deserve to be treated like HE was the and quot;bad guyand quot; in the situation by an office manage. The worse part of the situation is the fact that we are just about the last people to complain about anything having been cursed with an exaggerated gift of empathy. Being left out on a limb in regards to my prescription was unprofessional, unacceptable and just plain mean. Being rude to my very patient frustrated spouse was the last straw for me.

We know several individuals who have used her and they have spoken very highly of her. They're a small practice but they're all very pleasant.
