Carpet Installation reviews in Schenectady

Vic explained how the installation would happen, answering any questions I had to my satisfaction. The install occurred over a two day period, when I was still out of town. When I arrived to move in, I was very happy to see how great everything looked! This company does top quality work at a very fair price. I would definitely use them again!

The cost was nothing because I had already paid up front. Just one person came. It took at the most a half hour. They just do good work and they're very competent in what they do. I couldn't have told you that they were here. They're good at servicing heating and cooling. The guy that came was perfectly fine. Very nice people.

We needed to update the look of our kitchen and basement recreation room.  Schenectady Floor Covering sent George to neasure (he actually sent himself; he's the Chief Operations Officer).  George listened to our requirements, measured the areas, and made several good suggestions as to how to proceed; Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) for the kitchen area, and carpet for the recreation room.
We then visited the Schenectady Floor Covering showroom and spoke with an in-house designer, Emily.  She was already up to speed with the information and suggestions given to us by George.  Emily had laid out several samples for review.  All looked to be good fits for what we had in mind.  After some discussion and further suggestions from Emily based on the colors we had, we decided on the pattern and color for both the LVT and the carpet.
Both had to be ordered.  Estimated lead time was  1 week to 10 days.  It was around the holidays, so we were prepared for some hiccups.  We were not disappointed.
Emily called to inform us the LVT would not be available until after the holidays.  To their credit, Schenectady Floor called as soon as they were notified by the manufacturer.  Delays sometimes happen, in our world, and we appreciated the immediate "heads-up".  It's better to know of delays two weeks in advance, rather than the day before.
After the holidays, unfortunately, we received another, very apologetic, call from Emily saying the shipment was going to be further delayed.  It seems two manufacturers (one of them the one we were using) were in the middle of a merger and their order-ship-bill process was suffering greatly.  Emily suggested some alternatives.  We concurred that was probably the best course of action.  A couple of weeks later, we visited the showroom.  Emily, again, had several suggestions laid out for us.  Emily's suggestions were "right on the money."  We ordered the replacement LVT.
A week later, George called to schedule an installation date.  We could not be there, but we did have a lockbox installed on our front door.  Schenectady Flooring used the lockbox, let themselves in, installed everything that was expected, cleaned up and left.  When we arrived a few days later, we were very pleased to see everything looking absolutely top-notch.
While at first we were a little apprehensive about an installation when we could not be there, but we needn't have worried.  George, the installation crew, Emily, and the rest of the Schenectady Floor Covering Staff took very good care of us.  The customer service at the store, and the customer service at the installation site was excellent.
We can recommend Schenectady Floor Covering to our friends, and we will certainly use them again in the future.

Estimator told me they'd rip up the old flooring. Couldn't be done. They skimcoated it and leveled it then put the floor over top. Love the floor, installers were great. Not real thrilled that I had to cut 3 doors down and the transitions don't match the floor because it 1/2 inch higher than expected but it's an old house with lots of charm. Sometimes things don't go as planned. Money refunded for unused parts and labor. 3rd party contractor installed it. He and his crew were done with 330 sq ft kitchen in 1 day.

Everything went smoothly from the first visit to the showroom with Russell, right through delivery and installation of the floors. It is the first time a contractor did what they said, when they said, and for how much they said with no surprises.

The gentlemen used truck mounted cleaning equipment, providing powerful, deep cleaning.  We had moved the smaller pieces of furniture (lamps, end tables, etc.) out into the garage so that they only had to move the sofa, love seat and dining table when cleaning the living room and dining room.   I've found this to make their job go faster as they don't have to move these smaller pieces.
The stairs to the upper floor were in the worst shape of any of the carpeted areas, but when they were finished cleaning, the carpet on the stairs were dirt and stain free, almost like new.  They were also careful to warn us about walking on the just cleaned carpet onto a tiled floor, so that we didn't slip.
Before they started work, we did a walk through of the house, indicating any areas of special need, all of which were cleaned to my satisfaction.  They provided an estimate of the cost, as well as of the time required to finish the job.  Very professional job.

I had quite a list! He sanded down the sill for our French doors so they would close properly; he power washed the side of our house and my outdoor furniture; he assembled my outdoor table and market umbrella; he replaced a faulty switch in a bathroom light fixture; he removed some old wall-to-wall carpeting (nasty job); he installed two blinds in a bedroom; he installed the wall mount for my 42" TV and, though I hadn't even asked him to do it, he affixed my heavy television to the mount for me saying 'it was a difficult job' and he didn't want to leave it to me to do... he did some other miscellaneous things -he worked straight through, took no breaks (except to drink water - it was a hot day!). Ado is a lovely person and a pleasure to have around. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!.

All work (excepting carpet installation) was done by one carpenter (Dennis). He did a fantastic job in all areas. Each day he made sure we knew when to expect him the next day. Entire job took about 10 days and we could not be happier with the results. We are completely satisfied with Bennett Contractors and would definitely use them in the future.

The quality of Jason's work is good, I have no complaints there. His scheduling was a bit haphazard and the job took quite a bit longer than anticipated which threw off the schedule for the whole renovation, but again, that's not my issue. My chief complaint is that he refuses to give me a receipt for the work provided. After making the final payment he has become completely unresponsive to my attempts to get in touch. All I really want is a slip of paper saying that he did the work, charged me and was paid. This is the simplest most basic principle of business and he has acted completely unprofessionally about it. I am utterly confused by him. As a contractor, my company has hired Jason on multiple other projects and I had no reservations hiring him to work on my home. Now however he has lost my confidence and my business. Jason, if you read this know that I am claiming the work you did as a deduction on my apartment with or without a receipt. If the IRS asks about it I'll be directing them to you.

Excellent. Price was right. I looked at a lot other places and they were very competitive, their prices were good, under the cost of most places. Services were good, very supportive, friendly. I had a good experience with them. The had a couple of issues on quality.
