First rate. Got a start time around a month off and even though there had been a lot of weather over that period, they were there on that day and cleared snow and swarmed the job. Completed it that day (except for gutters -- a different contractor came next day and finished up). The only thing I cannot comment on is price. My needs were urgent, my leaks were severe. I went with the company that the most people had personally recommended to me. I did not have the time to get multiple bids. It was a lot of $$ but I now have a primo roof.

Overall the work done was good and they did an excellent job of cleaning up.  There were issues with the process and the final completed work.

There was difficulty in communication.  Several times they claimed to have called, but I had no messages.  As I dealt with different associates of the business, it wasn't clear what  were their positions and responsibilities.  However they were generally patient and considerate, especially as it took me some time to decide on a contractor.  They did change the start date several times which led to my not being available the last day of work.

I was disappointed that an area that was not supposed to be worked on was re-shingled. This small porch area was not included because the porch is being replaced next year and I wanted to wait to do the roof after the lower area was replaced. Also as I already had the necessary materials for that roof, it was additional material costs.

I also was surprised that they did not repair a hole in the roof soffit. The hole was there before the work, but I thought it would be fixed.  Unfortunately, due to family obligations, I was not able to be there on the last day to inspect the work prior to the contractors leaving.

I have contacted the company about these issues and am awaiting their reply.

    Update: February 2016

In November 2014, I contacted the company about addressing my concerns.  I was promised that the soffit would be fixed and that they would provide the drain for the porch.  I contacted them several times more without response.  May 26, 2015 a representative came to do an estimate on the porch replacement and I again was promised that the work would be done.  They declined to bid on the porch and never came back to do the promised work.

In addition, the porch roof has been leaking since it was done.  I had assumed that the roof wasn?t fully sealed because of my stated intent to replace the porch.  However the contractor who performed the porch replacement indicated that there appeared to be a problem with the flashing on the porch roof.  Upon closer examination during a rain event, it appears that the water is running down onto the porch between the outer siding shingles and the old clapboard below.

In December I sent a letter to the office requesting a written response and phone contact to schedule the promised work, as well as address the roof leak. I gave them 30-days to respond.  The only response I got was a message on my answering machine inviting me to call about their available deals on new work.  Thus I am updating my review and I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Update: Steve came for the walk thru 7/27/13.  With a lot my complaints, his answer was he "misunderstood".  We even had a go around when I said I found him on Angie's List.  He insisted he wasn't on Angie's List.  The gutters are very good; I don't like the gutter guards as they are screwed into the gutters.  I gave D for responsiveness because it took him two weeks to return to my house after my initial complaint; he lives within 5 miles of me.  D for Professionalism because he didn't care about me, the customer, for reasons I've already described.  I deducted $150 from the total amount and told him my reasons. He did not object so hopefully this is over.

I would not even use him if the gutters need repair.

Update 7/23/13:  Steve contacted me yesterday after review was submitted; we're schedule to do a walkthrough this coming Saturday.  There was a heavy rainstorm last night. As I expected, there was water in basement where one of the downspouts was not extended as a far as the prior downspout.  Other parts of new gutter system were fine though because of darkness I could not check as well as I want.

Initial write up:  It's day 7 and I'm still angry and unhappy because County Wide did the work early when I was not at home. I never gave Steve permission to do the work when I was not home.  This left me with no opportunity to ask questions and I have lots of them.  Nor have we done a final walk through.

Steve's firm was second lowest in price and his business is within 5 miles of my house. I met with him for the estimate at my house.  On Monday, Jul 1, when I called to say that I wanted him to do the job, he agreed.   I asked the work to be done on Tues, July 16 (weather permitting) because I would BE HOME AND AVAILABLE., he agreed. When I returned from vacation on Sun July 14, the work was done. He had left a voice mail, but I was on vacation.  I would have told him "no", wait.  There were two things concerning downspouts I had wanted to go over with him on site, neither were deal breakers but if I wanted something different than he suggested I wanted to approve, esp if add'l funds were involved. I know about unforeseen circumstances and change orders.v Also,  I like meeting the workmen and seeing the work they do. Then I'm comfortable leaving them.  I would be interested in seeing gutters being made on the spot.  I was planning on MOVING MY CAR and lawn objects way from the house and closing my windows so there was no danger of damage.  Nothing was damaged.

When I called Steve to let him know my displeasure of doing the work early, he was upset that I wasn't home to pay him in full.   He never said that he wanted payment on the day he finished the work.  Other contractors have been that blunt.  And if I select them, I pay them that day. Of course, I'm contending that Steve didn't  complete the job.  I did send him a check for over 50% of cost mailed Tues July 16.

The two items that I wanted to cover with him were downspouts. I wanted to find out how one was going to be done as it would be a change from the existing.  I have no problem with end result, but I would have like to review in advance.   The other had to do with the additional downspout, I thought that it might be too short which would result in water going directly onto my dirt drive way; really icy in winter.  I addressed briefly when he came for the estimate.  Then I decided that  I wanted to be lengthened unless Steve had a logical reason to not do it.  Another down spout, is shorter by about 6' than the one it replaces. When we've had heavy rains in the past if any part of the gutter system is loose, water comes into my basement.  That is why I'm investing in a new $2200 gutter system, not just a sectional repair. Now , my fix is for him to give me two separate segments of my old (or any old) gutter segments so I can jerryrig a no cost solution.

I keep seeing things that annoy me.  If I had been there I would hope they would have taken care of without a problem/ot explained.  The front steps had debris on them. Does he expect the "little lady" to sweep up after him? I don't like the new gutter guards (looked really different from my previous ones) and are riveted to the gutters.  How do I clean the gutters easily, my other ones just popped out.   I had to get a ladder to check them out.  I have benign vertigo, so I need to be very careful about going on ladders.  Much better to see them and discuss them on the ground prior to installation.   Oh and he said that his work is guaranteed only if the gutters are cleaned two times a year.

After they received my partial payment, they called me (voice message) as to why only a partial was received.  I left a lippy message for them.  The next day I mailed County Wide my Angie's List review of the recent work Five Star Exterior completed for my $8500 roof (completed Apr 2013).  Steve can see the contrast in my evaluations. It was heavily about Five Star's crew and a note about the final walk through with the Project Manager.

I am not final paying Steve til we do a walk through, he shows me how to remove the gutter guards and delivers the gutter sections.  I will only  piecemeal the payment til then.  Steve keeps saying that his work is guaranteed. He is not concerned with customer satisfaction.

When I told Steve I wanted the segments of old gutters, he said OK but wouldn't be able to do it right away.  As I noted earlier, Steve lives within 5 miles of me.  I'm just off the main road way so I bet that he drives by my house 4 or 5 times a week.

Now because he did it when I wasn't home and he didn't clean up after the work, I wonder if he would treat the "man of the house" the same way.

I had Steve from county wide gutters install new gutters on my home which was just recently constructed. Steve is a very nice guy and a pleasure to deal with. (sometimes Steve can be a litter hard to hear/understand on the phone, but in person he is clear as day)
The estimate that Steve gave me for my gutters was actually below what I calculated the cost was going to be based on averages for the area. In addition his gutters are made on-site and are seamless. The cost for the gutters was $820.
I also asked for a quote for the gutter guards that have a lifetime warranty. ( I do not want to have to clean my gutters each year as my roof is very steep.) The cost for the lifetime gutters guards was more than the gutters at  $925.56. But after checking around this was also not a bad deal. The gutter guards took them much longer to install than the gutters themselves. The total cost for the gutters and gutter guards was $1745.56
Steve had also given me a quote for the cheaper type of gutter guard that had a 3 year warranty  and it was about $324.00. I choose not to get these because I really want to do everything possible to prevent ice damage during the winter and where my home is located wind gusts can be very high.
Steve and his crew did a great job. He is the first contractor I had that did not leave some sort of garbage/debris around my home after completion. I have security camera's around my home at all 4 corners. Steve's crew did a good job to ensure that none of them were blocked. He had to send one of the downspouts through my deck to accomplish this. They did such a nice job with the cut in the deck that it looks like the deck was built after the gutter instead of the other way around.I would highly recommend County-Wide Seamless Gutters to anyone.
