    A hearing aid that my mother purchased 2 and a half years ago from Total Hearing Care in Watchung broke in two on Christmas Eve. Total Hearing Care in Scotch Plains gave her an appointment the next day that the shop was open and fixed her hearing aid right in the store that day. They had a replacement part in stock. I had worried it would be necessary to ship the hearing aid to the manufacturer for repair. Getting it fixed right away made my mother very happy.

    My father was in denial that he needed  hearing aids; he did not recognize all that he was missing by not hearing well.  Social interactions suffered.  He also did not want new hearing aids as he believed he didn't need them or they wouldn't help.  Dr. Anzola tested him and from the test results he could visually see how profound his loss was. Her patience with my father was a heartwarming thing to see.  I take my dad to all of his doctor appointments, out to lunch, shopping etc., and many people are intolerant or callous to the hard of hearing.  Dr. Anzola took all the necessary time to interact with him in a very respectful way. From the financial aspect, her money back guarantee convinced him to give the new aids a test trial.  Now that he has had his aids for nearly a month and wears them all the time he absolutely does not want to give them back.  His social interactions have greatly increased too and he's more fun to be with because he can take part in conversations again.

    This occurred about 2 years ago;however, I have been for follow-up visits and everything remains the same. I agree with all of the previous reviewers comments, but would like to give specific mention to the provider that treated me. His name is John (I believe) Coppola. John was knowledgable, patient-oriented and genuinely concerned about my needs.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him without qualifications.

    My mother lost her hearing aids in her move from Florida to Connecticut.  We were frantic because she had had them for several years and really needed hearing aids to function.  I remembered that Sears in the Danbury Mall had a Miracle Ear hearing center so we got into the car and drove straight there - Without an appointment!When we showed up the Hearing Specialist - Scott Adamsons - finished up with is current patient and then stayed after hours just to help us out.  My mother was very well taken care of and fully tested for her hearing loss.  Turns out her current aids (the ones that she lost) were very outdated and not at all what she needed to hear as well as she could have.Mr. Adamsons fitted her with wonderful NEW technology in hearing aids that allowed mom to actually tell Mr. Adamsons how she would like him to program her aids to help her hear how SHE wanted and needed to!!Miracle Ear provided a FREE hearing evaluation, all of the FREE aftercare appointments mom wanted until she was completely and totally happy with how she could hear.  Miracle Ear even provides lifetime FREE checkups and hearing exams that make the purchase cost of mom's aids an even more amazing value.  We STRONGLY suggest that anyone who wants to learn more about their hearing health or that of a loved one CALL SCOTT ADAMSONS at Miracle Ear Danbury!  #203-207-0051.

    ZACHARY SPENT TIME TALKING WITH ME ABOUT  MY HEARING PROBLEM, INCLUDING THE ACTIVITIES I ENJOYED AND WHICH ACTIVITIES WERE AFFECTED BY MY HEARING LOSS.  HE THEN EXAMINED MY EARS AND TESTED MY HEARING THOROUGHLY.  WE DISCUSSED THE VARIOUS HEARING AIDS AVAILABLE, THE PLUSES AND THE MINUSES, AS WELL AS THE PRICES.  HE WAS PATIENT AND FAIR.  I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE WITH A HEARING PROBLEM TAKE THE TIME TO MEET WITH MR SMITH.  HIS STAFF IS WONDERFUL BY THE WAY.

    On November 6, 2014, I attended an appointment with my brother-in-law. He met with Dr. Mike Salzer at the NJ Audiology & Hearing Aid Center.  He was very pleased with Dr. Mike, stating that he had never had such a complete hearing test by any other doctor. The staff was also exceptional and very helpful.  Everyone went beyond what we expected. He was given loaner hearing aids since the appropriate ones had to be ordered. He received his custom hearing aids two weeks after our appointment. Dr. Mike set him up with a Bluetooth device that senses and connects to his cell phone, home phone, and TV. He can now enjoy conversations again as well as the little things that people with hearing problems miss out on.  My grade for Dr. Mike and his staff is an A+++

    Costco Hearing Aid Center
    The physical facility for the hearing test is not as fancy as that of my previous provider, but the tests were more thorough (Costco did one test by prior provider had never done) and more repeatable - the test involving repeating words that have just been read to you was read by the audiologist herself at the previous provider but by a machine at Costco. I have been extremely happy with the hearing aids (but, be warned, the blue tooth connection to the remote control drains the batteries much more rapidly than those without blue tooth). Unlike my older in-the-ear aids, they never lead to discomfort. In fact, one concern I have is that they are so unnoticeable that I forget I have them on, and have nearly got in the shower with them on a couple of times. It is a slight nuisance to have to drive about 50 miles round trip to pick up the aid and for subsequent adjustment, but I make up for it by buying a few things at Costco while there. Incidentally, there is a second level of membership, "Executive," that gives a 2% discount at the end of the year and costs an additional $55. One is almost at the break even point after buying the hearing aid.
