Angel is the man. It is very rare these days to find a person that not only completes a job. But also pays attention to detail and actually cares about the quality of his work. And then he actually charged me less than I thought he deserved considering the hours he spent working.

Excellent. We've worked with Javier and his people 2 times and we have not found better a better crew in 14 years as home owners. They are very responsive by text, polite and professional and they do excellent work. Flexible to changes as the job progresses.

Rebuild frontdoor stairs. Dave Perrotta and all his Teams are super Professional and Friendly. They did in our house a perfect job in a perfect timing. They found a solution for any problems and give precious advises for the next thing to do for kipping the value of our house. What I liked most: the quality of their finishes, they offer the best whatever the budget.

The owner, Flavio Pinhan, came promptly to see what needed to be done and then emailed us his estimate the next day.  He answered our questions and agreed to our request to substitute an upgraded lumber for the porch steps, without adding to the estimated cost. His estimate was about 10% higher than another we had gotten, but we decided to hire him based upon his stellar Angie's List reviews.
Flavio was able to start the work a few days later.  He took pictures and measurements of our old porch, and then he and his crew dismantled it down to the stone foundation and took away all the debris. They then replicated the porch, using high-quality materials. His painters were very good.  Because Flavio felt that the look of the new porch was diminished by the old paint on the front door surround, he had his painter repaint that as well, at no additional cost.  They also added grit to the paint of the porch's floor and steps to add grip underfoot, again at no additional cost. The new porch looks terrific and feels very solid and well-built. From start to finish, the project took five days.
Flavio and his crew were all friendly, polite, professional, hard-working, and nice to have around. They did a good job of cleaning up the premises at the end of each workday and at the end of the job.
We will definitely hire Flavio again, and we have already spoken to him doing some other carpentry, both inside and outside the house. He is a person who wants to provide high-quality craftsmanship, and he succeeds. We give New York Carpentry our highest recommendation.

    New York Carpentry

We originally hired New York Carpentry as part of an Angie?s List ?Big Deal? to rehang a set of uneven French doors in the dining room and to replace the casing around the doors. We had recently installed new baseboards as part of a flooring update, but unfortunately the new baseboards put the worn, yellowed original doors and door casing to shame! In addition, the profile of the new baseboards and shoe molding meant that the meeting point between baseboard and door casing looked slightly absurd.

Flavio, the owner, was quick to identify a plinth and casing combination which would match perfectly with the depth of the baseboard and shoe, while also looking more substantial and attractive than the casing that was already there. We were so happy with the work that was done on the dining room doors we asked Flavio to come back and replace all the doors in the house and match the casing and plinth arrangement he had designed for the dining room. We also asked that the casing around the windows be replaced to match that around the doors.

Flavio put us in touch with a contact of his at a lumber yard so we could order the doors we wanted. We were able to replace 20 existing hollow core doors with flat panel solid doors for a very reasonable price.

Once the doors arrived, Flavio ordered the plinth and casing material and got to work with his coworker Toni to replace almost every door in the house. We ordered the doors as simple slabs (i.e. not pre-hung) and Flavio hung them perfectly, routing them for hinges and door handles and installing all hardware. In addition, while replacing the casing, Flavio took the opportunity to spray foam insulation around all exterior doors and windows.

Each night, Flavio and Toni left the house neat and tidy and were careful to minimize the dust generated as part of their work. Much of the cutting, routing and planing work was done in the garage and we were still able to fit our car in each night, as Flavio and Toni kept everything well organized. At the end of the job, Flavio and Toni removed all of the debris generated.

The price quoted was the price we paid, despite the usual small extras that pop up from time to time on a job like this. The cost for materials was paid separately and all receipts were provided so everything was transparent.

We couldn?t be happier with the job Flavio has done. He is meticulous and believes that if a job is worth doing it is worth doing properly. More than that, he is a great guy to deal with. He?s punctual, honest and straightforward with a good sense of humor. It was easy to discuss different parts of the project with him as we went along.

The new casing and doors are now in the process of being painted and look wonderful. It looks like a new house! We would happily recommend New York Carpentry to anyone and will certainly use them for our next carpentry project.

Other than the surprises that old houses bring--no fault of the contractor--it was perfect.  The work is beautiful and Scott has an especially good sense of aesthetics; he made great suggestions on how to improve this or that along the way.  I inadvertently caused a delay by approving back-ordered plumbing fixtures, but excluding this, the project was completed in five weeks.

The project went very smoothly.  Scott understood that we didn't want to start until all the items we needed were ordered.  Once everything arrived and we started demolition, the work proceeded at a great pace.  I particularly appreciated the input I received from him and subcontractors on certain questions that arose in the process (like what type of epoxy to use for the kitchen tile).  I am also pleased with the level of service that we are currently receiving on certain items that need fine tuning (such as cabinet hinges that need adjusting, etc).   The crew was very respectful of our living space and keeping areas of the house clean and protected.   We intend to use OWC again in the future.

I was very impressed with Scott's professional and responsible work habits. He kept to schedule, talked with me about any curiosities that always come up in remodeling jobs. He worked well with other service providers on the job. He was easy to work with, even when I may not have been. The people he has on his staff are fabulous. I have nothing bad to say about this company. I recommend them without hesitation.
