    i have been a robison customer for about 18 months and they continue to provide outstanding service and high quality products. you get what you pay for - as they say. all of the service people i deal with - phone, on-line or in my home - are professional, knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, and when on a service callin my home very respectful of keeping things clean like floors. they explain everything in plain english so somewhat complex issues are easy to understand. initially they installed the "system 2000" oil burner. the service team was experienced (average 25 years w robison) and incredibly knowledgeable. they did a great job and, i believe as part of their QC, sent someone back to my house to make sure i was satisfied and that the install was proper.

    Our AC just stopped functioning and we called on a Thursday night hoping to have service the following morning. I was able to make an appointment for Friday afternoon. Ilan came to our home and assessed the situation right away. My husband had questions for him about options for choosing the appropriate motor and pricing, which compared to getting a whole new system was reasonable. Ilan was very professional and friendly in his approach and managed to get the motor we needed just in time before the weekend. We were happy with the service and pleased that we were not urged to replace our whole system.

    The good: friendly employees, appointment fit my schedule, arrived promptly. For various reasons could not repair my system. That I could understand, some sort of safety concern. But to charge $199 for a 10 minute visit and solve absolutely nothing is preposterous They should have charged about $50 for this visit. Rip offed. Very disappointing experience, I would avoid them.

    My I was told that there was a $150 service call/diagnostic fee, which I agreed to. The technician did not show up at the appointed time. He showed up at a different time so I was not able to meet him to keep him on track. He opened the unit and said it was all fixed and he never even went to the master bathroom to check the issue I reported - low flow rate. He wrote on the bill that he checked several (he may well have) and concluded his summary with "Operation Good, AOK" Unfortunately, he didn't check the actual PROBLEM and I was presented with a $376 bill. When I reported to the tech that nothing had been fixed, he said I had to hire them to do a $450 acid flush. I had a local guy do the acid flush for me for $110 dollars. When I called to explain that I had only approved the diagnostic fee, the office staff was unprofessional about it. I asked the manager to call me about the issue and was ignored. Buyer beware.

    Be extremely careful and avoid if possible. The technician try to up sell on everything related to simple air conditioner maintenance, and at one point he wanted us to upgrade the whole air-conditioner. To earn credibility he claimed to be owners son and that, he operate on his business principles. We were forced to used to them as they were the only approved technician with Weichert home warranty. He has charged at least $300 more than the average maintenance cost.

    They arrived and made comment about how the chimney was dirty . They said that the chimney was so dirty it was not worth it doing their job that I have to paid around $1000 to have a cleaning what will do the job I told them to do what they were ask for... and after they done it they said that yes, this was enough. They let me a paper telling they had done a 49$ job. I was surprise as I paid you 99$ . I went back to see the offert They cleaned the ashes, did not clean the glasses or the furnace line. I called them... they first said they did not know about the offer and what was proposed .and that the 49$ was what Angie's list pay them. I send them an email with a picture of the offer. The lady called me back and told me that they did the furnace line. I was there, the furnace line is in the basement they never went downstairs.... But hey went outside and said that I need a600$ work on the chimney and I need to do that quickly. I knew about this job, but I was told by several contractor that the job can not be done in the winter otherwise the cement won t dry properly.

    It went great. Donnell is pleasant and makes sure everything is running smoothly. He gave me an appointment within ten days on the specific day of the week I requested. He showed up exactly on time. He tested the efficiency of my two units, showed me the readings on the meter, and explained what they meant. He added a pound of gas to one unit but said the other was fine. I was completely satisfied.

    This review is overdue and should not go unnoticed. This family run company was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend them. Price point may be in the higher spectrum but they give you the quality, care and attention it commends. All permits were done properly and closed out accordingly. While the review shows date of service as Dec 2015, we really spent the whole year with these guys, most of it being Summer 2015.

    We engaged Larry back in Feb 2015 for a Home Energy Audit which lead us to inquiring about separating our heating systems. The house was 1 zone heated, using baseboard heating, and it was controlled by the 1st floor unit. Being an owner occupied house, where we live on the 2nd floor and our tenant lives on the 1st floor, this was becoming a nightmare in terms of Con Ed bill splits and climate comfort of both units, plus the boiler was 40 plus years old, and the hot water tank was at least 15 years old, while they both worked well, we wanted to be pro-active rather than be re-active should either fail at a moments notice.

    We sprung for the High Efficiency units as indicated in the above section and separated everything! Each unit is now on their own gas line, thus each has their own Con Ed Bill and each unit can control their own heat now, it's a wonderful thing. We also treated ourselves (2nd floor) to Air Conditioning because it financially made sense to add it now rather than try to add it at a later time, separately. 

    Larry was extremely patient with us as we tweaked the contract, going back and forth on models to consider and how to finance a portion of the project using NYSERDA. Larry also arranged for Con Ed to provide us with a new gas line to the house to service the 2nd floor Furnace that was going into the attic. This process took a few months to happen as their are several steps involved on the Con Ed side of things.

    Contracts were signed end of April and work began in May/June, and just in time for the 1st heat wave in July we had AC connected and operating! The crew was here for many weeks, working in a hot attic, moving items around but they were great. The furnace was in place, AC was working but we had to wait for the gas line in order to connect the heating system to have the job fully completed. We even had to request that the condenser for the AC unit be temporarily removed so we could arrange for our paver guys to create a pad for it. Trying to tee every vendor up is a logistical challenge, but Phoenix worked with us and for that we are extremely thankful.  

    By the end of the Summer (August) we had the new gas line installed from the street to the house and the crew was ready to return to connect the new equipment. Gas lines were run up through the floors to the attic, it was done via a closet, and was done so in a very professional manner (i.e no mess, did not affect space in closet etc). All hot water plumbing lines for 2nd unit were done with PEX. They even left all the copper for us (per our request) so we can get some $ for scrap metal.

    Once the job was completed we had to follow up several times to ensure permits were closed out, while this took a while it was eventually resolved. The reason was completely valid as their had been a medical related situation with their electrician, so they were able to arrange for a different electrician to handle closing out the permit. Once the electrical permit was close out then we were able to close out the rest of the permits. (November)

    Since having the new systems in place, we experienced only 1 issue with the Triangular tube once the heating season began (Dec 2015). It kept running and overriding some sort of program, which resulted in my tenants experiencing over 90 degrees in their unit, they had to leave the windows open just to breathe. Phoenix came out the very next day and took care of the error. Since then we have not experienced any further issues and I hope it stays that way for years to come. 

    If you are considering who you should use for your HVAC needs, we recommend going with this family based company. We felt we could trust them and even though they didn't have a ton of reviews when we 1st found them, they had enough of a A rating for us to give them a try. We are happy we did.
